  • Katariina Maria Kits (15) was invited to play Haydn with a very nice new orchestra composed of Estonian music teachers in Türi on the 22th of August, 2010. For many of these teachers it had been long ago they had a chance to play in an orchestra and they did it with lots of enthusiasm and warm heart. Directing Lilyan Kaiv.
    For Katariina it was seventh time to play this concert. ;)

    That kadenza was absolutely stunning, all the other kadenzas are fast and rushed and this one is just graceful and amazing I adored it. Wonderful performance

    She was lucky to play it many times with orchestra and although she was tired of it in the end she gained much freedom in her expression due to the technical problems she had almost overcome. Good luck for your children and I will surely visit your channel when I will be back from my holidays and have a better internet connection. :)

    Thank you very much for playing this piece :) helped me a lot for learning how it should sound like, altough i didn't reach this level of intonation, feeling and playing at all ;-) I hope I can hear you someday when you're coming to KKL lucerne (Switzerland) as a solist :)

      It's not so much practicing hard as it is practicing slow, section by section, with great attention to detail. That's the key to learning any piece. That and keeping your technique in shape with scales, exercises, etudes, etc.

    After few years playing I still confusing between whether to hold the violin mostly with shoulder or left hand ....

    • @thierryfernando6569
      @thierryfernando6569 5 років тому

      Shoulder

    • @nickyork8901
      @nickyork8901 4 роки тому

      @@thierryfernando6569 The important thing is not to clamp the violin between your chin and shoulder. It should be very free to move, which implies holding it (or rather supporting it, ie. not gripping it) more with the left hand and just letting it rest on the shoulder. It also depends on whether you are shifting position, up or down.

    • @robfuller6425
      @robfuller6425 4 роки тому

      Nick, Helen York you should still be able to keep the violin between the chin and shoulder without holding it though

    • @infinitepawer
      @infinitepawer 4 роки тому +1

      @@robfuller6425 It's been a year and i found the problem is not actually chin or shoulder for me but my very short pinky and over this year i believe i found a way to deal with it .. not perfect but at least i can play more confident & "fluent" now.

    • @infinitepawer
      @infinitepawer 4 роки тому

      However i have to keep my pinky part of the palm get as close as possible to the neck all the time to prevent it go off beat whenever i need it and it really a tough thing to do especially when i need to vibrato.

And she has very high standards. Come by and see my children's videos sometime (they are younger than you).
