Olaplex No.3 Overnight On Curly Hair

- What happens if you put olaplex in your hair overnight? Well, I gave it a shot...and I loved the results! Keep in mind, my reasoning is also practicality and not just effectiveness. If you are able to leave it on for several hours in the day, and then do the full wash and style routine ( including a deep treatment ) then you may not need to try it overnight. Now I have a toddler and I’m lucky if I get more than a 10 minute shower lately. So for me, it’s most effective to leave it in overnight so I can get at least 6 hours with the product in my hair, and then I follow up with shampoo + deep treatment etc the next day(s). This method was by far the most effective for me! The longer the better seems to be the case for this treatment in my experience. I sleep with a shower cap and turban wrapped, keeping my hair moist so that it’s working longer. As mentioned, feel free to do your own research on the website.... Thanks for posting this video! I've been looking for a video on this for forever lol. More people need to hear about using Olaplex overnight. I'm about to go blonde & I plan on doing an over night Olaplex treatment or other month or so along with the Aphogee 2-step treatment to try to maintain my 4a curls.
I do this two night method with olaplex. My curls come out so bomb! My deep conditioner is briogeo and its amazing too!

So do you do the Olaplex (overnight), rinse it out in AM style as usual...then do a deep conditioner the next night? OR...do you leave Olaplex in overnight not rinse out until the next night when you’re ready to deep condition (does that make sense? Lol)
How often?
Olaplex themselves say that after a half hour it stops working really. Unless it's wet. While it's still wet it's working. So if you keep spraying it then leaving it on for longer than a half hour should work but they said that there would be no difference from sleeping in it as few people sleep on wet heads. So it works when wet. When it dries it stops. Olaplex 1 and 2 have the same actives as number 3 but they have it in higher concentration. It's safer for home use with lower concentration of 12.5% (15% in number 2) apparently. Sitting here with my new bottle (got one on amazon and it did nothing - this one's legit so I hope to save my hairs this time around). I have an aphogee treatment ready too. Going crazy with no hairdresser for 3 months now during corona and no chance of one opening for at least 6 weeks more. My poor hair :(

Great video! Olaplex 3 has saved my hair after I have processed my hair with hi lift color. My hair was dry and brittle and was breaking off. I now use Olaplex immediately after I finish coloring and washing my hair: I leave it on for an hour. I put on a shower cap and then a towel wrap to keep in the moisture. I then wash and condition. I have been getting amazing results and love the way my hair turns out. My hair looks and feels healthy. I experimented with leaving it on for recommended 10 minutes. I then tried 30 minutes and settled on leaving it on for 1 hour after coloring for the best results.

You can purchase from Sephora or Walmart you don't have to be a license professional... I love it on my 4c hair. I've been using it over a year. I also leave it over night and cover my hair with a plastic cap, every 6 to 8 weeks follow up with aphogee protein treatment after olaplex treatment and deep conditioner

I have heard hair color specialists say leaving Olaplex #3 on your hair for an extended time can cause your hair to become stiff and wiry.

Thanks for the review, I recently tried the Olaplex No.3 for a first time & what I did was, dampen my hair (needed to wash it anyway: it had heat protectant dimethicone & a frizz-free serum as products overall prior: helps as a buffer possibly), combed through with a Denman brush & applied the Olaplex No.3 product generously, and combed afterwards per section to evenly distribute, and left it for over 10 mins or so.
Washed with a gentle, natural clarifying shampoo from Giovanni's Cosmetics (twice gently) & a protein-moisture manuka honey & yogurt masque from Shea Moisture (very great softening hair slip), and it worked amazingly -- I noticed the effects of it afterwards, even though it wasn't as extreme; it made me realize it's effective + works, immediately when I rinsed it off to even begin with. So, definitely a product I'd recommend + would reuse again. Great review! I find the overnight treatment, is more so for excessive treatments or damages done to the hair... Should be careful with it & not always do so... Cause it's a bonding treatment to the roots... and overall hair's health. It could backlash. Though, I guess it's a hype. Simply mindfully so.

lmao, I used to also do coconut oil pre-poo (pre-shampoo) treatments & would have them in braided buns to go out with, it works. It's going out on-the-go. So very true. Or I would leave-in deep conditioner, and it was like the most manuka honey to tropical oozed aura or such lmao, but it worked. And left my hair very well-moisturized + defined. Do what you gotta do. It's simply funny to pass on the storytimes.

Maybe it’s just in America that you can’t get all three, but in Australia you can get real Olaplex 1 & 2 on Haircare online stores

Hi friends does any one knows how or where can I buy or find ,,mean choice prickly pear leaving conditioners in England because I love to try with my olaplex 3 but I cannot find even in Amazon or eBay in England,I will be really appropriate some one can help and advice me I do have curly wavy dry hight light hair,which I am sick and tired i try toooooo many products but OMG any of them not work,I really do not know what I have to do especially after I wash my hair and dry OMG my hair become frizz hurried no oil no cream nothing can help until I straight my hair but I do not want to do it any more I just look for some oil some things can give it to my hair little bit soft and shine and be nice but nothing's work,please help.Thank you xx

Hey, you are only suppose to do the recommended time for it. You are not suppose to live it in overnight. Your hair will be stubborn to color and would be harder putting bleach or color to your hair. (:
Nick Oberlin my sister leaves it in overnight and her hair has gone from short and brittle to long and thick. Just literally just came back from the hairdresser 2 days ago. No problem at all. Olaplex says u can do it overnight on Instagram... the longer the better..
You do know as soon as your hair dries this product stops working so you gain no benefit leaving it overnight.
