This became a signature Nightwish song in 2004... it was also off the last album ('Once') to feature Tarja on vocals... and now, neither Tarja and Marko are in Nightwish any longer 😪
For us fans back in 2005, it was a shock when they announced that Tarja had been fired... She was the siren of the band and 'Once' was their biggest record to date... We waited for 2 years before Nightwish finally announced a new singer Anette Olzen and the anticipation of the next album 'Dark passion play' was really high.
Well I am happy to learn through your channel! I know the song well enough, but everyone's reacting to Live versions, and I had never seen this video in the intervening (almost) 20 years! And it is actually finely shot, concentrating on the band members as they experience the song... numerous great angles. I loved it - and commend your knowledge of all things musical. Original Nightwish - all band members are from Finland.
Fun fact: "Wish I had an Angel" was part of "Alone in the Dark" movie soundtrack in 2005. But, as the movie was very bad, the clip was changed and does not include scenes from the film.
