Swamiji is one of the few masters preserving and teaching the sacred science of Swara Yoga in the traditional Gurukul way. This is a valuable contribution to the spiritual heritage of India by continuing the Guru Parampara and teaching Swara Yoga at his ashram on the banks of Ganga in Rishikesh and online.
Swara Yoga is an ancient science existing before the Vedic period, over ten thousand years ago. It was a secret science, only available for the select few, specially kings and dedicated sadhaks. It was kept as a closed secret by the ancient sages and saints who had intuitively received this knowledge from the Divine.
Swara Yoga decodes Breath, teaches us realization of cosmic consciousness, through the awareness, observation and how to control or alter the flow of breath in the nostrils. Its Vedic knowledge for all perfections, in material and spiritual paths by using only vital aspects of breath.
Swami Charanashrit ji, since childhood Swamiji would accompany his grandfather to attend yagnas and satsangs of great saints . These spiritual impressions, inclination towards yoga and spirituality since childhood, led him to pursue and deepen his understanding towards Indian philosophy and spirituality. At the age of 16, his Swara Guru appeared to him in hometown, Deoghar Baidyanath dhaam the holy shrine of one the twelve jyotirlings of India . His tryst with is guru was only for half an hour. Once at the time of dusk, on the banks of the holy pond of Shiv Ganga, a Sage which he saw for the first time, was sitting under a peepal tree with ash smeared body, loin cloth, mat locked hair and a yoga danda in his hand. He called him and asked him if he knew Swara yoga and Swamiji answered in the negative. The Sage then he said that he was a Swara yogi in his past life and that he had forgotten and shall recover his knowledge and initiated him into Swara yoga. He gave him a few practices and a book and asked him to return after three days. After his intense saadhana and reading the book, Swamiji had lot of questions so he went back to meet his guru, enquired about his presence. But no one was aware or seen such a baba in the vicinity. After this he started probing into the depths of this vast ancient science allowing this divinity to unfold from within. He further pursued his saadhana and went on to do his post graduation in applied yogic sciences and research under the guidance of Sw. Satyanandji and Sw Niranjanandji of Bihar School of Yoga.
