I am 63 yrs old and this song is helping me rehabilitate myself from decades of depression. It's like it's about me. Bless you Chester and the boys of LinkinPark.
I'm leaving this comment so when i get old and someone likes it, so i can remember this song which helped me realise anything i did was taking a step and not a regret
The way I interpreted this song was taking accountability for your own actions and facing yourself and addressing your demons. Wiping the slate clean to become the best version of yourself and letting go of the past.
Not just as one human being, but even as the whole humankind, we are all responsible for the world we live in, and I believe also the official video refers to this.
So sad, but in the mean time so true... No wonder why this song along side with "in the end" and "Numb" made me cry every time i listen them...Because the more we grow the more we came to realize what the song means for the singer inside and outside... #MAKECHESTERPROUD!
Chester lives on forever through these songs, he was a warrior, a father & a husband, a best friend & his talent & intensity as a singer can’t be matched.
This song is about a man asking God for forgiveness and to wash away his sins that he has committed and having mercy on his soul The song's about redemption give it some religious/spiritual underpinnings. The words in the song that speak about mercy coming and washing away guilt. When the lyrics to the song cry out "Let mercy come, and wash away, what I've done," they capture the essence of Jesus' salvation message.🇺🇸 ✝😇
Song is cryptic. The merciless way his suicide has been handled in news and social media. God bless him and praying he can rest. People are without any kindness, bloodthirsty in how they speak of such a man, who gave so much comfort to so may people.
I find it sad that people suffer with mental health but if you are a celebrity you have to put a mask on to pretend everything is ok. Yet they face nasty comments, stories in the press that are designed to make money not truth, meanwhile not having any privacy, always having to deal with people and not making time to think about or deal with their feelings. I kind of wish mental health in celebrities was shown more to show people that being a celebrity and having money isn't always glamourous and a dream, they haven't always got it easy. Maybe sometimes this should be shown more, instead of making them seem perfect all the time, they are still human. Maybe that way it won't come as a shock to people when they can no longer cope.
Hmm, this song subconsciously prepared you for his departing, just as certain cartoons and tweets prepared you for kobe' s departing, from the public eye, wake up sheep this realm is all about energy and vibration. That's topic for another day, kobe and Chester are both alive as well as many others in a land that is forbidden from us bottom feeders. Wake up
Chester felt *Numb* with the demons *Crawling* inside him. He felt too weak to cross the *New Divide*, and wanted to *Leave Out All the Rest* of his problems. He thought everyone would forget *What He's Done*, and nobody would care *In The End*. when Chester died, everyone realized *One More Light went out.* And he felt like the only crack in a whole *Castle of Glass.* We lost a legend. May Chester Bennington rest in peace.

It's so sad when someone dies especially in such tragic way. I believe that suicide doesn't solve pain , it just passes it to someone else. But let's rejoice in the fact that he lived and shared his soul with the world.

"Life before Death" "Strength before Weakness" "Journey before Destination" These words mean different things to everyone. Hold on, brothers and sisters. Push through. Believe in something greater than yourselves: family, friends, ideals, truth, justice, mercy, love, or growth. Find something and hold onto it. Keep building a little each day. It's about progress, not perfection. There are more people rooting for you than you can possibly imagine. Reach out and find them. You've got this. Also, I can't wait to see someone make a Stormlight music video of this song, once there's video for that book series. It's gonna be soul shaking.
This song helped me get through the guilt of surviving my suicide attempt. To move forward past what I’ve done in the past, and to claim this life as my own, to throw it away for anyone.
Still can't believe he is gone, love this band and Chester. R.I.P. I can relate to all of the songs and lyrics I have been dealing with addiction, Major depression and it isvlike being on a roller coaster ride everyday.
Dude when I was like 7 my brother got me into playing starcraft, sc2 had recently come out, and someone made a tribute AMV of Sarah Kerrigan using this song, and she was my childhood crush. It has been in the back of my mind for more than 10 years and since back then I didn't have a good enough grip on english yet I couldn't recall the lyrics to aid my search. Yesterday I was channel hopping and came across the ending of the transformers movie (clearly I'm neither a Transformers or Linking Park fan, otherwise this search would have been way shorter) and they played it so I searched "transformers ending song" and got here, this song makes me so nostalgic! I'm so glad I found it :) I still love you Sarah
This is the song that got me into Linkin Park, via Guitar Hero. God the memories. Good and bad. It's hard to believe that that was 15 years ago now. How time flies.
It's like he was telling us about himself drowning in his depression thru music and No-one listened to his message until it was to late. Sucksz that he's gone, Hybrid Theory I was in 6th grade I'm 30 now. I grew up to see L.P Start And Finish Sadly 😔
This is what got me into such an awesome genre of music... And anime a bit too this is still such a legendary song of all time... No matter what modern band or any music group can make very much near impossible to make such an icon. Rest in Peace Chester Bennington you have earned your mark of true legends.
I've been through a lot, I've listened to their songs in difficult times... those times are gone now and still I keep finding songs I can connect to... their lyrics and music are so rich and deep that they are universal and applying to everyone that can feel... I soo miss Chester :(
The pain in his lyrics is heart wrenching .I love his music but find them so sad realising what was to come . Take care people & look out for your friends x
Its okay that they made you forget, its okay that they made you someone your not, even if you only been here for a little while. You can always change yourselves. Over and over again until you win. Because they are nothing compared to you. Thanks for everything.
I listen to this and all of my memories come flooding back... I remember jamming out in my friends living room with the guitar hero microphone. Not a care in the world just raw emotion being shown for what it was... I miss it...
LP was giving a voice to neurodivergent people long before they started to finally be heard a little bit (and there's still plenty of work ahead of us.) Rest in power, Chester. We are all sad you ended things but you brought us a way to connect to one another and help heal. And for that we are eternally in your debt.
This is a really powerful and meaningful song. Thank you Chester for this masterpiece, you may have died but I will never forget you and your amazing music.
If my memory serves right I spent most of my teenage years literally pumping my ears to numerous bands. One of the bands happened to be linking Park , ... They fun filled my ears with incredible songs..... always linking Park for me.
Hats off to the great legend Chester! This is one of my most favourite songs of all time. Wuhan lab scientists should sit and cry while listening to fantastic song which is really moving like a wave.
I felt the same way when I was your age and I'm still fighting these issues from time to time. I think it's very brave of you to share your feelings publically like this. I can't do much for you, but I can tell you there have definitely been moments when I was glad I haven't given in to suicidal urges and I'm pretty sure you'll have those too one day. If you need someone to listen to you and have nobody else, I'm here. But I'm just a stranger on the internet and the only thing I can do for you is listen. Please, share your thoughts and feelings with your parents or some other adult that you trust if you have a bad relationship with them. Because the sooner you get help, the easier it will be for you to get better. Trust me.
When I was little, I used to listen to this song with some clips of symbiote Spider-Man from the Spectacular Spider-Man, and this brings back memories..

This note kinda made me cry. It's really meanfull you know.

chester is not a band..linkinpark is
"Life before Death"
"Strength before Weakness"
"Journey before Destination"
These words mean different things to everyone.
Life before Death, Radiant.
"Life Before Death" Thats... that's how it works???
This song helped me get through the guilt of surviving my suicide attempt. To move forward past what I’ve done in the past, and to claim this life as my own, to throw it away for anyone.
God bless you! Get after it. Build your purpose. Build your life. Glad you’re with us.
Still can't believe he is gone, love this band and Chester. R.I.P. I can relate to all of the songs and lyrics I have been dealing with addiction, Major depression and it isvlike being on a roller coaster ride everyday.
same.
Chester you are my hero
Mine too. We loved him, and always will love him.
Chester will never be forgotten ❤️
y'all I almost forgot about this song. I remember being 8 and my mom blasting this in the car lmao
i first heard this song when i watch the transformers 2007 movie in 2014 for the first time when the movie came i was too young ab 1 year old
This made me smile bro 💙 LINKEN PARK FOR LIFE
Same but my dad 💖

@@leroy8343 Linkin Park!*
This is the song that got me into Linkin Park, via Guitar Hero. God the memories. Good and bad. It's hard to believe that that was 15 years ago now. How time flies.
During my sad 16 years of life these bands like Linkin Park and MCR gave me hope....
It gets better, especially if you hold on against Madrid
Sincerely,Barça fan
It's like he was telling us about himself drowning in his depression thru music and No-one listened to his message until it was to late. Sucksz that he's gone, Hybrid Theory I was in 6th grade I'm 30 now. I grew up to see L.P Start And Finish Sadly 😔
Legend never dies!
"Tried to give you warning, but everyone ignores me." - Nobody's Listening, Linkin Park
Everyone noticed his songs were depressing as fuck, and he talked about it in interviews. There wasn’t much you or I could have done.
What they see "TRANSFORMER"
What I see,
"glimpse of him ready to face his fate..."
I miss the days when Chester was alive

I wish we can reverse back in 2001:
"Before time began, there was the cube..."

The *Allspark*
"We know not where it comes from, only the power to create world's,and fill them with life"
All we know that it annoyed us
Roxy the starfox the rubix cube
What you've done, Chester - is make us all believe that music can change the world.
I soo miss Chester :(
Chester lives on through song, and as long as I'm alive Chester's music will never die!
Chester is a legend ❤️his voice is so soft, soothing, calm. It gives relief from everything.

Brings Chester alive amongst us. He must be smiling at me listening to this number umpteenth time.🙏🙏🙏
" i am optimus prime and i send this message to any other autobot taking refuge amomg the stars, we are here and waiting😎" just heart warming
This song still hits differently to anything else!!!! ❤❤
Yeah right 👊
I listen to this and all of my memories come flooding back...
What?

No matter how much I grow up and change, these type of songs will always be a part of me.
If my memory serves right I spent most of my teenage years literally pumping my ears to numerous bands. One of the bands happened to be linking Park , ...
They fun filled my ears with incredible songs..... always linking Park for me.

I have Anxiety and mental health problems and suicidal thoughts at the age of nine.and this music is really helping Me
I felt the same way when I was your age and I'm still fighting these issues from time to time. Trust me.
I hope you get better also I love your profile picture!
