I absolutely agree. There are vital elements of this, I was not aware of, and they depict and describe very clearly how unjust this entire episode has been, even though this really goes back to the Balfour declaration and even before. I.e. The Zionist scheming.
The origins of the Palestine problem as an international issue, however, lie in events occurring towards the end of the First World War. These events led to a League of Nations decision to place Palestine under the administration of Great Britain as the Mandatory Power under the Mandates System adopted by the League. In principle, the Mandate was meant to be in the nature of a transitory phase until Palestine attained the status of a fully independent nation, a status provisionally recognized in the League’s Covenant, but in fact the Mandate’s historical evolution did not result in the emergence of Palestine as an independent nation. Thank you for this information Mr Pappe. Very very important information that everyone should know. Especially the jews who were fed wrong information about Palestine nd the rightful inhabitants nd owners of Palestine. Their own lands were stolen by the zionists regime. How shameful
We are very fortunate to have a scholar like Ilan Pappe to give us the truth of how the occupation in Palestine began, so we can understand the context of what is happening today, instead of lies corporate media perpetuates.Thank you for your scholarship and your moral fortitude.
Truth? The Jews were on the defence in the first months of the civil war the Arabs started; Jerusalem e.g. was besieged by arab militias since the start of the hostilities, and they would constantly ambush supply convoys. "Following the outbreak of disturbances at the end of 1947, the road between Tel Aviv and Jewish Jerusalem became increasingly difficult for Jewish vehicles. Arab forces tried to cut off the road to Jerusalem from the coastal plain, where the majority of the Jewish population resided. The Arabs blocked access to Jerusalem "at Latrun and Bab al-Wad," a narrow valley surrounded by Arab villages on hills on both sides. In December 1947 the Jewish Agency set up the Jerusalem Emergency Committee, headed by Dov Yosef, which stockpiled food and fuel. In January the Committee estimated 4,500 tons a month was needed. In January 1948 the number of trucks supplying Jewish Jerusalem had fallen to thirty per day. By March the daily average number of trucks reaching Jerusalem was six. By the end of March it was clear that food supplies for civilians in Jewish Jerusalem would run out. " The only reason the Arab states didn't invade sooner, and only had small militia's active during the cil war period, is because the terrtory was still British, and they didn't want to start an international incident by invading British soil.
Excellent delivered. Thank you Mr. Pappe. Pls everyone should share it. Especially in Europe because here people don't have any idea about this conflict and their reasons!!
Many do know but i guess the majority don't, they actually enjoy remaining brainwashed watching their tv and newspapers news who they trust and their Govs who they trust 😭
Right because the most western politicians are standing for USA capitalist hegemony like European Union ( social-democrat, liberal, conservative, ultra-right, ecologists... )
Take note all the "never was a Palestine" bullshitters. In February 1947, the UN established the UN Special Committee of PALESTINE -- to create Israel! In 1947, it was a white's man's world. The world was largely the white man's colonies. And the white man stole Palestine and gave it to strangers from alll over the world to populate it. At the time of the Balfour Declaration, Jews formed less than 5% of the population of Palestine.
I am currently reading his book. I can only read a few chapters each day as it makes me sick at how humans treat each other. I always knew about the suffering of the Palestinians for may years but the books goes so in-depth that it is so difficult to process.
I seriously think that this "But, But, KKKHamas" phenomenon also need to be well studied and added on DSM-5 as a mental illness that can cause people unable to see beyond certain date. It's horrifying

Referring to the massacre of Arabs by Jews in the village of Deir Yassine, the Einstein letter said: « the [Jewish] terrorists, far from being ashamed of their act, were proud of this massacre, publicized it widely. … The Deir Yassin incident exemplifies the character and actions of the Freedom Party ». The zionists made an idol out of Einstein that people bow down to. He had children from a serb gentile female physicist called Mileva who according to many either helped or wrote most of Einstein's works. Not sure I am not spreading gibberish? Look up Olinto Di Pretto for instance... Einstein was working at the swiss patent office when Di Pretto had sent his work to be patented. That's no coincidence. Every time I'm listening to Prof Pappe and more who are revealing the truth about history (which since Oct 7th there is more of it available) I can't believe as an Israeli who is a 2nd generation to both European and North African immigrants, that I borne in to this madness. It's a heart breaking to be discovered all these which obviously I haven't been taught in school. Horrible history, simply horrible 💔 and it's definitely takes me through a level of identity fracture 💔

He is preventing the establishment of Palestine by fake 1947 revisionism that is extremist and totally impractical. He clearly works for the ultra-zionists. 😂
This is very important information that should be widely disseminated and published. Thank you, Mr. Pappe and thank you, UN!!

The only reason the Arab states didn't invade sooner, and only had small militia's active during the cil war period, is because the terrtory was still British, and they didn't want to start an international incident by invading British soil.
Why not?
Yes, you are very fortunate to have this clown peddle his lies. Hope it makes you feel better 😂

Something you won't hear from most western politicians
No one has a better understanding (apart from the Palestinians) of the Nakba than Ilan Pappé.
Right because the most western politicians are standing for USA capitalist hegemony like European Union ( social-democrat, liberal, conservative, ultra-right, ecologists... )
They are busy counting their bribe money they received from the lobby
Because it's a distortion of history. Palestinians started the war in 1947. Why doesn't this "historian" mention such a basic historic fact?
Take note all the "never was a Palestine" bullshitters. In February 1947, the UN established the UN Special Committee of PALESTINE -- to create Israel!
In 1947, it was a white's man's world. The world was largely the white man's colonies. And the white man stole Palestine and gave it to strangers from alll over the world to populate it. At the time of the Balfour Declaration, Jews formed less than 5% of the population of Palestine.
These are not untold truths.
These are unheard truths.
Palestinians have been screaming their pain for decades, they just weren’t heard.
Well said and excellent delivered Thanks
I am currently reading his book. I can only read a few chapters each day as it makes me sick at how humans treat each other. I always knew about the suffering of the Palestinians for may years but the books goes so in-depth that it is so difficult to process.
I seriously think that this "But, But, KKKHamas" phenomenon also need to be well studied and added on DSM-5 as a mental illness that can cause people unable to see beyond certain date. It's horrifying
Yes, I concur. I'm reading it too, and every sentence is jaw-dropping.
Book title plz?
I have read it. Traumatized by it. Imagine the Palestinians living it for 75 years plus.

ALBERT EINSTEIN :
« The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch them without doing anything ».
He was incredibly wise. Turned down being President of Israel
@@NormTessTearoe You are absolutely Right.
Albert Einstein on Israel and Zionism, Letter to The New York Times, Dec. 4th, 1948, Albert Einstein, along with 28 other prominent members of the Jewish community, wrote that the then-current Israeli political party, the Freedom Party, led by Menachem Begin, was « a political party closely akin in its organization, methods, political philosophy and social appeal to the Nazi and Fascist parties ».
The letter ended by saying that America should turn its back on Begin and not support : « this latest manifestation of fascism »
@@NormTessTearoe Yes he was; "Einstein’s commitment to the Zionist cause did not waver in his later years. Indeed, in the very days before his death in 1955, Einstein was writing a speech for radio to celebrate Israeli Independence Day."
He wrote that germans must be sterilized for it is impossible to breed the war-strain out of germans ; that's totally obnoxious to me sorry, he plagarized most of his works from other people. Einstein rarely gave credit for other people's ideas he was using. Read his travel diaries what he thought of other people. He left his gentile wife with his sick son without helping them. This is like quoting Anne Frank's diary. People often proclaim such things before they understand the true ambitions of their enemies.
The Arabs were offered “cohabitation and honest agreements” over and over again. They rejected them every time. “The Arab armies entered Palestine to protect the Palestinians from the Zionist tyranny but, instead, they abandoned them, forced them to emigrate and to leave their homeland, and threw them into prisons similar to the ghettos in which the Jews used to live.”
- Palestinian Authority (then) Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) (Falastin a-Thaura, (March 1976)
