Installed the K300 last weekend. Last years toilet paper shortage was the last straw. First time using a washlet. Freaks my wife out a bit, but she’ll come around. I love it! Easy to install. Purchased the Toto washlet ready toilet also. Supply hose and power cord is blocked by mounting bracket so still figuring that out. Overall a very positive experience!!
Great review thanks! I bought and installed the K300 this past spring and find it works great - I think the function is the same as the model you show here. The price difference between the K300 and the SE models was enough to deter me from the higher end models such as yours and the added features such as the night light, the self raising seat / lid and the differences in the remote weren’t worth that added cost to me. Love the functions and settings.
@@rhenzlemuel09 yes this model does. It heats the water on demand so limitless and it has a man adjustable temperature for that as well as for the air dryer.
Thanks! I have been trying to decide between these two and it's been a challenge to find "real" reviews. Your honest video gave me the information I was looking for. I'll be buying the S550e.
Great review. After using bidets in Europe, I must have one of these. I think these may be even better as the bidets in the European hotels are just an open seat with a faucet. Thank you for your thorough review. Can't wait to get the S550e!
The C5 (new k300 with premist) is sub $400, the s7a/s550e are over $900. So you're paying $500 for the seat lifter, sleeker design and tankless water heater. One major thing to mention is the K300/C/A models don't support the auto-flush unit. My electricity is expensive, but my water is free… I will forget to put down the lid, so it's probably worth the $300 the price hike to get the s550e/s7a models, for me. Reverse cowgirl drying requires a remote model, and the S7A is the only one that can close the lid before flushing. Another thing to consider is the KC2, A and C models all use 400W… while the tankless ones use 1.3kW, so you'll trip a breaker if you're hair drying simultaneously.
You can't go wrong with any of them. The tankless heater is a big deal though. And I never need to worry about my kids leaving the toilet seat up since it auto closes after they leave the room. Also, I’m not sure when you edited your comment, or if I missed a portion of it initially, reading it on my phone, but you hit every single point. Well done. Ps as far as the electricity goes, yes it does use quite a bit but there are smart programs that I have enabled that learn your use age patterns and only use the seat heater for example, at those times to preheat the seat, or if you actually sit down. So it’s not 1.3kw around the clock. And I typically don’t use the blow dryer while on the toilet. ( joke). Thanks for commenting again.
@@Samlol23_drrich I ended up having to splurge on the S7A with Auto-flush. The panel on the C2 would prevent reverse cowgirl, needed to dry lady parts properly.
You didnt Highlight or talk about the WIGGLE ISSUE that these TOTO washlet seats have at all!. The Seats move from side to side despite the mounting flange being super tight.
You are 100 percent right. I didnt realize that when I made the video, since it was pretty new, and until reading your comment I did not know it was a "thing". But you are absolutely right. Don’t even attempt to remove it. I started to but immediately realized that it was not going to come off without leaving a mess so I left it. I’m sure if I put acetone on it the glue would soften. But it also runs the risk of ruining the plastic underneath. Good luck with your purchase.
Thanks for this review. This is SUPER helpful. On the S550e, can you disable to auto open if you want? I don't want the lid opening everytime I walk near the toilet. Thanks again.
I’ll check when I get home and edit this but I’m 99.9% sure the answer is yes. The seat closing is a great feature though and for me enough reason to leave it on.
Thanks for the useful review, from an actual user! My question is where the 'auto open' sensor is - my toilet door is on the side, not in front of the toilet so will it only sense me when I get round the front, by which time I'm ready to sit ? It there an infrared/PIR sensor? Where is it ??
Really coincidental that you asked that because I was just thinking about that yesterday. No joke. I’ve never seen a sensor and it’s not obvious where it is. I will check and let you know later today. Okay. Edit. So I clean the toilet and seat at least once a day on my hands and knees because I have ten year old twin boys and they are messy and like the bathroom. I’ve never seen a sensor. So I just went and looked. No obvious sensor. Not only that, I went through all 64 pages of the manual and it does not say where it is specifically. However, I believe it is the part where the lights are, and part of the manual leads me to believe it’s rf and not infrared. One of the troubleshooting tips says it’s possible for the seat to open if you are in front of the seat even if the bathroom door is closed and you are in a different room. Therefore it must be radio rf wave proximity sensor. So yes, you have to be in front of the toilet. My door is on the side also, and I was able to sneak up on the seat and it opens when in front. Not on the side. But it’s very sensitive and will detect you and open before you can sit when you get anywhere in front of the seat. Hope that helps

I can't believe Toto doesn't have those standard on every model. Oh, and I completely agree with the eco saving mode on the K300. I wish Toto would just add an extra few buttons instead of making you press every single button like a game of Bop It just to enable a function. The remote I'm sort of on the fence about. I have little people in my house, and replacing a dropped $90 remote sounds better than replacing a $200 remote. But then again I just spent $600 at the grocery store 3 days ago and this afternoon I felt like we had no food. Should have just bought that robot toilet instead. @Sudz28 Well if you are looking to buy one, they no longer make the 550e so search around so you don't wind up with a discontinued model unless that is what you want.
The 550 had unlimited hot water (no reservoir) as well as the design was more like an actual toilet seat. It was sleeker and lower which was appealing to me so it wasn't just the remote.
@@Samlol23_drrich Thanks, it actually looks like Toto only has the following current models in a 'round' offering (vice elongated): C2, C200, C5, S300e, and S350e. Maybe I just need to look at the Bio Bidet BB2000, it seems comparable to those but cheaper.
@@Sudz28 all of the toilets in my current house are elongated so fortunately I didn't have to deal with it. Im sure they are all similar.
Someone commented on this video that he has installed a lot of Toto bidet seats and they all move left and right (wiggle slightly) even if the bracket is very tight, and that is true. It's annoying. Maybe you will have better luck with a different brand. Good luck!
Are you Jewish? Just curious! Excellent video!
Only on Chanukah. The rest of the year I'm Hindu.
@Samlol23_drrich great answer 😊 I'm part koala half the year myself.
