Chris, to be honest I think free might be even too expensive for this thing. Good for parts, but I don’t think it could be saved from being scrapped. By the time you price out rear rims, possibly tires, hoses that need replaced, plus the time to winch it on a trailer, motor condition, transmission, etc.
They can't all be runners - could tell from the length of the video that it was probably going to be a pass. I don't blame the owner for wanting to get all he can, but that machine looks a bit too long in the tooth - probably needs an engine rebuild. Really appreciate your enthusiasm for the location and the drone shots - another reason I love your channel. They are rich with varied content and some context that brings us along and enriches our minds. Thank you, Chris!
model 32 is the loader/hoe I believe. The tractor would be a 430, 530, etc. I had an early 60's 530 which was a bit bigger than that. Looks like the same 2.6 4 cylinder gas engine. My loader had a separate tag with a different model as well. Those case tractors that came with the hoe/loader all in one setup typically did not have a pto. They basically built a backhoe off of a farm tractor and did away with the 3 point and pto. Removing the hoe/loader attachment is no small feat. Pretty sure it's a sleeved engine, but realistically that machine is worth scrap value minus transport cost.
You are a soldier for even trying something so crappie kuddus to you chris you are definitely a person with a exceptional amount of intestinal fortitude and creativity!!
Yep; probably wise to pass on that one...The boat, however, could be fun, esp. if you could find an old "Ted Williams" (Sears-branded West Bend, IIRC) outboard! Nice drone shots of the town all lit up w/ holiday lights...Good also to see Mr. Turbo and the Gus-Man out and about!

Love both your channels man, great work. The diversity and sometimes just beautiful scenery makes what you do different from the rest and unique, but sure do enjoy the road trips. Happy holidays, have a good one.
Not a waste of time, beats sitting at home. You never know what you'll find out there even if it's not what you went to check out in the first place. I really liked the over/under garage at that house, that's my dream to build one like that someday.
Hi Chris. At 6:35, those insects get in there because bachelite cap have a tiny hole(~2 mm diameter). You also can see in video, is oriented right to you.

Just bought my first backhoe. 1963 John Deere 500 Industrial. It had a few issues that were revealed but if I had more time to go over it I would have offered less. But I have it now & looking forward to putting it to work. This one you are looking at is too far gone. If you had the time to put into it maybe but it being in the flood, just too many unseen issues. Even though you had to walk away time well spent. Great footage with the drone. Dear NNKH guy. 👍👌👏 This is the kind of property that I wish to you and Jen (without the flooding of course). I have the same little boat, mine hadn’t been ran since like 2000. All I needed was a trolling motor to go around on a small reservoir. It’s a very nice boat and I doubt there will be any holes in it. Everything will be pretty easy to pressure wash other than the seats if it’s the same ones as mine. The stuff is stuck on there
I think model 32 was the backhoe attachment. Looks like a 580 CK tractor. They were great units back in the day. I think this one's day has come and gone.
Every time we get a big hurricane down here somebody revives one of these old backhoes to clean up downed trees and ends up getting themselves crushed when a tree trunk rolls down the loader arms or backhoe boom into the operator's seat. You have to really know what you're doing and not get complacent to work one of those things.
That Case has the self leveling system for the bucket , it’s that short cylinder on the right side near the controls , still yes if not operated properly you could get hurt
It is a 530 CK gas Backhoe . I am restoring one right now . The starter cost to rebuild was about 150 if you can find somebody still does it or the parts for it. Luckily mine runs and works . My father and I rebuild it 30 years ago . And now we’re repainting it the second time to sale. They are a very good machine to use once they are fixed up
I have a 1964 580 CK loader/backhoe diesel . It spent most of its life doing maintenance on a glof course, so in really nice condition. I have had it for over 25 years. Use it every year. Rebuilt cylinders and hoses was my only real repairs.
It looks to close to the door but you need a cover on that GFI,water gets in ,damage to your siding and I had seen 2 or 3 fires.you will have to cut and adapt a bubble cover but is important, thank you for your videos
I just paid 1k for a early 80s Ford 755. She big girl but didn't run, one flat, 3 leaky cylinders and sloppy pins and bushings. Put a new battery, starter, and a lift pump on it and got her going. Had to bleed the steering pump and add a bunch of hydraulic oil but after a $400 lowboy ride, its back at my property running and digging for under 2k. Gonna fill it and run it before I fix it when it warms up. Just gonna change the oil and some filters and send it.
Excellent video Chris :) also yes that tractor be challenging to get going and when corrosion lots them too ! Also be great parts one for sure and hopefully get boat to plus fix up to!
That model number plate is just for the front loader. I noticed you have another ID tag on the backhoe frame, behind the seat. You should have one on the tractor, also.
Hey Chris. Have you ever thought about trying a third channel? As much as you and Jen love the outdoors and being on the water maybe you should do a channel called NNKH-Outdoors. Maybe do some fishing/camping type videos. You could even tie in with the other channels. When you take a trip to check out a car maybe stop at a state park and camp out instead of getting a hotel room.
You should give him $300 and tell him to throw the boat in for free, just think of the money's you could make with that sweet backhoe & front bucket work. Little R&R Pull the head sand the cylinders out good to go 👍

By the time you price out rear rims, possibly tires, hoses that need replaced, plus the time to winch it on a trailer, motor condition, transmission, etc.
yeah, sadly people don't realize that usually.
Many guys do it as a way to save the technology of yesteryear. Yes, it might cost more than it's worth for some, but definitely worth it for others.
@@daleyingling4868 the thing is there are fully running and functioning case machines out there for $1500-$2500.
Good move Chris walk away cheers 🥂 😊
I think after somebody puts $2,000 into it they would have a really sweet $1000 tractor... 🙂
I’m thinking $5000 in for a $500 tractor that will rust forever. Rust in flooded equipment and wire is a never ending problem!
Might not make the worst parts machine though. No major tin damage, pins all look tight, rads good, pump is probably OK too.

I would cry when after expending all that time and money refurbishing the home when the next flood comes. Wish the owner good luck! 🤞
