  • I found 2 cane stools at the thrift store and decided they could use a modern furniture makeover!
    These stools were $11.99 each and were in decent condition regarding structural integrity. However, their finish really needed some work to look new again.
    In this video, I fully revive these stools by refinishing the metal frame and cleaning up the old wood. In addition, you get to watch me fully replace the pressed cane seat as I show you how to cane a chair by hand (again...).
    Full Cost Breakdown and Tools List:
    2 Thrifted Cane Stools - $24.00
    Cane Webbing and Spline - $47.94
    Face Dust Mask - amzn.to/4741e38

    Very nice! I think you need to work on a correct height bench. You’ll wreck your knees and your back bobbing around on the floor.

    How do you determine the grit paper to use for each thing?

    • @FurnitureFlippa
      @FurnitureFlippa  16 днів тому

      With wood you start lower and make your way up. I typically start around 100-150 and finish with 220-240. Sometimes I’ll use 400 to get a super smooth touch. It all depends on the project and type of wood (or veneer) you are sanding though.
