Track 1 of Broken China ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Check out Isabelle Reine on Spotify- open.spotify.com/artist/4nwru...
Just bought it. It was hard to find it. But finally it is here, in my hands. And my ears have just listened to such beauty. Thanks, Richard. You will never die in our hearts and souls.
Dear Sweet Jesus! Amazon is asking $129 smackeroos for the three remaining "new" copies of this CD, and ain't show ANY "used" availability. I'll keep buying those lottery tickets.....because it's more Floyd THAN Floyd.
Bought this when it came out. I'm old. But I have looked for it forever... Glad to find it again. I saw PF 3x in the late 80s & 94, RW keys were always so BIG in the mix. Was fantastic.
Thank you for uploading this on UA-cam! I have just been reading comments below on how hard it's been. Doesn't the music label realise the more people who hear the music on Broken China may end up wanting to own the album themselves? (As I did - and it was hard to come by!)
Cómo en el 2000 un gran amigo me regaló este hermoso disco! Actualmente tengo como 4 años sin ver a este amigo.. me trae recuerdos encontrados oírlo actualmente, gracias por subirlo! Hero
Could someone explain to me. About the title and the music. I don't understand the connection. It is very clear to me. The best Pink Floyd songs are those that carry Rick's talent. So beautiful to discover.
His wife was chronically depressed after being abused in childhood, culminating in her trying to drown herself in their pool. This is where all the water themes come from. Additionally, Rick wanted a girl singer to do some of this because it was specifically from the perspective of his wife, enlisting Sinead O'Connor on Reaching For the Rail and Breakthrough. This album is in four stages; childhood, running away, depression, and recovery.
@@kingfisherman9830 thank you very much for your explanation. I just translated, broken porcelain, as the cover indicates. A woman dives into the water and feels broken. now discover the 4 themes in music. that's difficult, because I keep dreaming :-) Hopefully we can admire his music live again, that would be nice.
@@234cheech It was about his wife, the part of the interview that you’re mentioning is when he said that he wasn’t very confident in his singing, so he was going to get a male vocalist to do the parts sung by him originally. However, he liked his singing from ‘Wearing the Inside Out’, so he decided to take a shot. But also, he wanted a girl to sing specific parts since they were deeply rooted in the perspective of his wife.
Gone 14 long years today but still missed.

Just found this for the first time. Fantastic.
Absolutely nothing like his first album but just fantastic.
All these years and I thought the sound heard 1:36-1:53 was a dog barking; it's now obviously the slowed sound of someone sobbing heavily.
Perhaps it represents the memory impression one would have when hearing it as a young child and not understanding what it meant.
Sounds more like Pink Floyd than Pink Floyd.
What do you mean, friend?
@@user-lb4vh7xw9i What I mean is that Rick Wright had a huge influence on Pink Floyd's sound and it is in evidence on his solo recordings.
@@rogerlawry7710 Ok, i understood thst, i just wanted you to be more specific, if you want to
