- This video will show you how to remove a nail from your ATV tire and use a tire plug to repair your flat. This is very easy to do and usually will last a long time.
Tire plugs are also great to have on hand in the woods in case you run over a nail and get a flat tire.

For well under $50 a tire repair kit and portable air compressor that runs off a 12v outlet is always in my Can Am side by side or car on vacations. A five minute DYI fix is faster and far cheaper than the alternative.
Thanks for watching
Can you teach me how to do it on a green UCM shark 220 please? My dad will fix it
Windex makes a great leak tester.
Yes, Because it will bubble...Great Tip!
Not a "trail" repair like the thumbnail pic represents. But educational none the less.
You would do the same on the trail.
It sure is, been riding ATVs for 40 years. A can of fix a flat and a set of these tire plugs and a pair of snips may be your best friend in the woods.
Cool thanks, where are you from?
New Hampshire
The plug keeps getting pulled out when I remove the tool. Any tips? Or is the hole too bug
The hold may be too big for the tire plug.
I got the same kit and it came without rubber cement noticed a lot of the videos using this kid had this same kit, but were old videos is it necessary.
Yes, you need the rubber cement for the tire plug to adhere to the tire
English as a second language?
Can I fix about a two in hole with these plugs?
possibly, depends on the size of the hole
You’d need lots of them
What is thd size of your rear tire?
I am not sure. It is a factory tire that was on my Honda.
I don't have room to carry a compressor on my quad. Any thoughts as to inflating the tire after the repair?
You could carry a can of fix a flat to get some air into it once the tire has been repaired
Carry 3 or 4 co2 cartridges (16 gram) and an inflator head. They are pretty compact. I carry 2 and an inflator head in my small seat bag on my road bike (bicycle). Most atv tires will inflate with 2 cartridges I'm told. You can find them through bicycle or atv parts websites or stores.
You could get small 🚲 bicycle pump
@@woodwilliams5856 This is the right answer.
Or maybe a car mini tire 10 bar compressor, if you have a cigarette lighter socket on your atv. Watch out, there are good ones and some that only make lot of noise and don’t inflate at all, read reviews first.
Can I simply use duck tape a patch and crazy glue?
Ahh...No!
Ahhhh why not !?!? Send it
Ahhh no....may as well use gum. Duh...
Is the glue necessary?
Yes
Not with my kit, the plugs I have are pre cemented.
Yes it holds the tire plug in place and seals off the hole so that the air does not leak back out.
How long do they last and do they handle up to 50 mph?
I have had them in there until it was time for a new tire. These are not made to repair the sidewall. If the sidewall has a puncture the tire would need to be replaced.
Homeowner Repair i got a puncture in mine kould i ride it with that in there still ?
