I am still holding out some hope to see a Time-lapse recap of the diamond replacement project there at Tower 26 Houston. Is that still in the works? One of our neighbors is a UP mech and he said they are bringing a lot of the old SD70Ms back into service either for fleet use or power leasing. They need updated electronics and inspections but once they are blue carded, they will be back on the road! And I don't know what you call the paint scheme but it was the very first CSX scheme, moments after the deal was signed and they went out and scraped off the "Seaboard System" logos and put the blue CSX on in its place. That's the one I look for. The only picture I ever got of me running while I was at CSX was on an SD40-2 in Tampa, FL with that color scheme.
There's a yard in Houston's East End full of idled power, some that looks picked over. There's also a small UP locomotive shop at Milby and McKinney in the track and sign facility, near one of the Sampson Street cameras.
UP 1759 SD40-2 Snoot at Tower.26 was a nice catch and also the IHB Lash-up at Blue Island was good to see, thank you.
