how fast do you have to kill the guy while scoping? I don't own the full game so I only have access to warzone and plunder but in plunder I've played like 10 games with an average of 8 kills and still haven't gotten credit for it. Players also get downed usually and then I quick scope to kill him on the floor too but I never get credit. Anyone?

I mean check out some real life snipers, it's the same with explosive rounds, the muzzle climb is unreal. Becuase your not using a muzzle break the gas from the barrel is pushed with extreme pressure out of the barrel, this forces it up along with the recoil. The difference between this semi-auto and a bolt action is that most good barrette bolt actions chamber+barrel machanics come equip with a counteract gas chamber that forces a lot of the air from the top of the barrel back through to the chamber to eject the round. This also has the benefit of greatly reducing recoil. Where as its less common for semi-autos to have this mechanic I believe. Further more, anytime you want a head shot and don't have to aim for it, and actually have to aim for a bigger target sounds like a blessing to me 😂, I love it and get loads of kills with it.

The Rytec AMR is most likely bugged. I am sure that this was not intentional from the Devs. IMO I feel like the AMR was made specifically for the "Sniping community" Ex: FaZe snipers, the trickshot. The players that had been insisting for a new sniper the past 6months for Multiplayer. Players like FaZE jev, Testyment etc. With attachments that lower the ADS, its faster than the HDR. Slightly slower than the AX-50, but the fact that it doesn't have a slow bolt pull like the AX-50 makes it great for CLIPS and montages for content creators in MP. Joe Cec0ck tweeted about this weapon before it was released and I feel like that tweet was made specifically for the MP sniping community. Keep in mind the Warzone Team is a different team, they most like did not have enough testing in warzone, the gun feels like it was only balanced and ready for MULTIPLAYER, not Warzone. Expect this to change and get fixed. The Monolithic suppressor and long barrel drastically drop the ADS on this sniper which makes it a bad sniper for long range since you will get out sniped by any other sniper/marksman even a rifle/ SMG
That's weird because I'm pretty sure bolt action snipers have always been the favorite of trickshotters, as they look cleaner and take more skill to use than a semi auto
idk if they changed it with the sniper buffs but the hdr and ax have the same ads speed when maxed and even stock i think. its like a 1 frame difference.

Every single content creator/pro has even said the bolts are way too slow. they dont care about the bolt action animation they only care about hitting quad feeds/ 5+ pieces and with the slow bolt animation it makes it difficult to do consistently (especially with the broken spawn system)
Rytec is just insanely broken. I’m missing shots that should not have been missed. Shooting at people that are not moving. What really sucks is that it is a two shot headshot in wz. The velocity seems ridiculously low and the aim is off, just like the AMAX default iron sights. They need to rework this gun.
I agree, this sniper is incredibly dissapointing,when using regular ammo it isn't nearly as strong/viable as the HDR/AX and even with the explosive ammo it's mediocre at best. I have a feeling they were so worried they'd make it (too) OP that they actually forgot to make it viable/at least equally as strong as the other (top) contenders
They fixed the headshot and aim glitches and it is now a one shot kill to the head in warzone all you really have to do is learn how to aim with it also in multiplayer it's a one shot kill almost anywhere but with he rounds it's always a one shot I do believe.
Same here I normally pop of with my hdr and ax I can even normally 1 shot with the kar in warzone but with this I couldn't hit shots the only real shots I was getting were chest shots that would either not down them because of eod or would get the down, hate this gun thought it would be dope even with the thermite rounds its bs trying to get hits
I used it a bit in Warzone, it was not that bad. Just aim for their body and you will almost always hit them, and the splash damage is pretty nice if people are hiding behind some cover. Also you can really shoot many bullets after each other. Almost like a grenade launcher just much weaker but you can shoot it from long range. You can shoot besides your target like right by their feet, and it works pretty great. I have downed many people with the splash dmg already. And you can always shoot the wall besides the target to hit them. And it goes through trophy systems. Honestly, I had a good time with this sniper. I do feel they have to do something with that recoil tho, I noticed the bullets flew more up then they should have done. Although, it makes the gun good for killing people at longer ranges, just aim for the body. I also used the termite rounds, and they are melting armor if you hit. But not as good as the explosive ones. Fun to use, just a bit weird. I can work with it and like it. Definitely not as good as the HDR tho, but the splash dmg can make for some interesting plays.

Great to see others are having the same issue, tried using this fully kitted in warzone. And was baffled by how hard it was to hit people. Thanks for pitting out the correct holdovers, or unders. Hopefully Activision fixes this soon
Well considering the money Activision has, why cant they make a game that doesn't have all these bugs the first time? Better yet, features that have been added the past few months that should've been included at launch. No excuse for this kind of incompetence
I mean to be fair even if they fixed the 200m zero and bumped its headshot damage to one shot on headshots its still has incredibly slow ADS compared to the HDR and AX50, and the explosive shots are very slow and unrelaible for serious long range. Its more a fun weapon to use for the novelty and ground war rather than a serious competitor to the other two snipers and the Kar98.
That first miss in Warzone has been exactly how my AX-50 has acted the last week. I swear they've changed the aim somehow. I snipe 95% of the time, so I notice this stuff.
As you mentioned, the gun is dialed in to about 200m, and has quite a bit of bullet drop. So, when it's dialed in for that distance it going to be arcing shots over people's heads, especially at medium ranges when the bullet is at the peak of it arc and furthest away from your point of aim. This would simply require a bit of practice to figure out your hold on enemies at different ranges, and I think is kind of a good balancing factor in using the 25mm rounds for that gun, which are incredibly odd cartridges to use irl. Most likely what happened with this whole thing is that the default zeroing distance is probably shared between all the projectiles this thing fires, and is not all that noticeable with .50bmg seeing as it shoots point blank out to 300 meters or so. But, with the 25mm rounds there needs to be more of an offset in order for it to zero out to that distance, which is what you're showcasing in the video. I honestly don't think its that big a deal and could easily become a meta tactic in using this incredibly powerful weapon. I know you were just trying to illustrate the problem in game, but if you would simply study the behavior of the weapon and adjust your play style accordingly, I think you'd find its pretty usable.
It's not a vertical curve, it's just calibrated so that the cross hair lines up the bullet drop at 200m, rather than at 0m like most. It could be that they intended it to be used at long range hence the weird calibration (not very useful but I could understand that) but since it has piss poor damage over all ranges I have to assume it was a mistake.
The Rytec is my favorite sniper because when I use explosive rounds I get constant 1 shots from short to long ranges from stomach and above but the legs are 2 shots
I think it's just explosive rounds... When i was leveling the AMR i had explosive rounds as soon as they unlocked after that it Would NOT level anymore, was stuck at level 16. Once i took them off it updates fine. Im using the Thermite ones now.
Ok I figured out why this is happening. It seems that the vertical recoil takes effect even before the bullet leaves the chamber causing it to shoot higher than expected.
Its hard to explain real life effects and attributes to gamers that expect things to be within there thought parameters. A gun that shoots over a mile with that type of velocity does have some short to mid range rise in its shot pattern. If its recoil, maybe see if it is the same prone. I dunno, In real life that is a cannon. Just a thought.
With how ridiculously flat bullet drop curves are in this game (despite everyone whining about them) and in contrast to other games like BF or Arma, zeroing really isn't necessary.
Take it out for long range sniping with explosive rounds, 176 base damage at any range, then +25 from the explosion = you are breaking all armor on a full hp, or getting downs all over the place if you are 3rd partying shots. Rifle is meant for long range, hence slow ads and 200m zero.... if it had 100m zero 400m shots would be impossible. Build for bullet velocity, and personally I put the focus or perk that prevents sprinting instead recoil/stability mods. On top of all of this, a lot of the people I shoot at have no clue where it is coming from initially so when I 1 shot a team mate down, they usually just crawl a little and think they are good, so I either can confirm it or get 2 kills.... its hularious
@The one and only exotic Butters anti material, in this way, means that a weapon like that is meant to destroy ammo and fuel supplies, and in some cases, high priority targets at extreme long ranges or unarmored vehicles. This thing will barely scratch a tank's armour.
Maybe this will help someone: I unlocked it also in about an hour maybe a bit longer but I used the EBR-14 with a sniper scope and that made getting the 3 quickscopes easy. You can also leave the match right away after you get the 3 kills and it will still count towards the Rytec obj. edit: i commented this before i heard stodeh say it lmao

Friend and I did some tests and figured the only way to get headshots from around 160-200m in the middle of your crosshairs was using the first barrel you unlock. we didn't have to aim down to hit the head like Stod did though when testing it stock/with ads attachments. (unless that's because he was using explosive rounds?) really hope they change this I thought I was going crazy
It seems like this is also an issue in multiplayer, headshots and even to some extremes, center mass shots aren't hitting. I thought I was going crazy thinking my shots should hit but weren't. This proves that it actually was the gun itself and not my aim.
Yo Stodeh, the gun is zeroed at 300 meters. It's completely different than all other snipers, they went with the realistic traditional zeroing for the Barrett which is 300 meters. Every youtuber I have seen so far has done the same thing where they go for those close shots and hit high. I've made a 728m headshot and a 780 meter head shot on plunder using the explosive tips.
I enformed the head of the customer support team of this issue. The BMG is the .50cal which is made by Barrett. With a single round u can shot roughly 6” to the left or right or above and away from the body to get a kill. The force of the round at that speed will tear away chunks of body.
FMJ doesn't add any damage, only penetration. Right? You could probably penetrate the driver easier through the vehicle. Would the explosiveness carry through the wallbang? Interesting
jesus and here I was with my buds last night having them call out spots so I could test the dumb thing. I thought it was just me not leading the target right but thanks to u I now know I shouldnt aim at the head. man this thing is disappointing, spent the afternoon unlocking and leveling it just to never touch it again
Tbh if I wanna body people I'd probably just use the Kar because I could still one tap when I need to. I dunno, it's a 50 cal sniper, I'd over look the slow ads and snail speed reload if it could one tap
Since unlocking this gun i absolutely love it. I didnt got the time to test it in Warzone already, but in normal gamemodes this is insane. I played several rounds of ground war in order to get the longshots done and was able to hit players on distances of 300+ meters ( which is almost across the complete verdansk Harbor map) right on the point of my crosshair. there is literally no bulletdrop with this gun and you still can make use of high firing speed so this gun is pretty good i think, but AS i said i will have to test it in warzone.
Ive downed everyone Ive shot with this rifle on shot on Warzone even above 200 meters you just need to get used ti the bulet travel and It is a beast with the correct attatchments
For me the wrong zeroing was a kind of blessing because sometimes I don't have a good aim for headshots so when I aim to their chests I down them in 1 single shot. Maybe I would switch the suppressor for the muzzle brake and a bipod for a faster recoil control and be able to spam the shots more often. This is an anti material rifle and shouldn't be used as a fast ads sniper, if you want those the Kar is one of the best guns. The Rytec is meant to take out light vehicles, I took out a 3 man squad just by shooting 3 shots at their truck. I take out those pesky helicopters and stop the guys who try to run me over or run away. So the Rytec is not the best, but is not bad at all.
Not to mention that the bottom part of the charging handle clips through the part under the ejection port and the .50 BMG rounds have the same model as the 25x59 grenade rounds
The standard ammo actually has a different model and texture than both 25mm conversions (HE has a Blue projectile, thermite is red and the standard mag has what looks like HEDP (high explosive dual purpose) rounds in it), leads me to think that they initially didn't plan on having a .50 BMG conversion for this rifle (further supported by the fact that it's datablock name is "iw8_sn_xmike109" --> XM109). On top of that, the charging handle/bolt don't actually have enough travel distance to load another round due to the upper receiver not having that cutout which extends the travel distance. This weapon seems rushed and appears to have been changed mid development in order to not set the sniper community on fire even more than it already was.
The no recoil barrel makes a big difference. Can't suppress it, but you can mag dump it. Plus idk if range even matters with explosive rounds (I mean, that would make sense in real life but who knows.)
One thing I will say is that in mp it absolutely rips through vtols, I was honestly surprised when I destroyed a vtol with 1 magazine of explosive ammo

Explosive rounds on AMRs (anti material rifles) are always low-splash, high vehicle damage shots. It’s like HE shells in tank cannons, you sacrifice splash for pure damage
My rytec is gold and 70% done with obsidian and all that time has made me realize that the rytec has a very wierd consistency on multiplayer as well. The muzzle velocity has some play in this and there is always a second delay between the shot and your kill. I have had a game where I shot a guy running around a corner and had not gotten it registered until he was halfway around the corner. Nice job infinity ward, my kd is crying in it's room now
I think the scope zero actually makes sense. Since its a long range Anti-Material rifle and it even has markings in the scope for ballistic holdover, including one above the center of the cross hair for point blank shooting. I do think they should fix the headshot multipliers in warzone though
People are already calling for a nerf for this thing in MP. It's very easy to get 5x feeds with the explosive rounds since the maps are so small. If they fix the bugs on this, I think it'll fill a nice niche; having an anti-material rifle in Warzone that can actually destroy vehicles is cool. Anyone calling for a Rytec nerf needs to remember the HDR has a barrel that basically eliminates bullet-drop and turns it into a 500m hit-scan 1-hit headshot machine in warzone.
For warzone I've been rocking the thermite rounds it's still a 2 shot but u can land a 2nd shot really quick and finish the kill once you get the hang of the gun its really fun to use
It's zeroed for longer range engagements like its real life counter part. If you know anything about guns you'll know why this is. A 50 BMG sniper isn't something you'd commonly use sub 200 or 300 meter engagements when you have much lighter designated marksman that could hit that target (yes i know they can hit targets much further than that, just tryna prove a point), unless you need that good old destructive power

It worked at first, then I'm thinking they nursed it in warzone. The thermite rounds used to hit and down them instantly now it does nothing. The explosive rounds used to kill them instantly. They changed it
How does it behave without the suppressor? Sometimes adding a suppressor will add velocity and change point of impact in regard to point of aim, and I do not know if maybe they set up the game mechanics to reflect this. I mean they increase the range with the suppressor, and on a .50 you would definitely notice.

Its kinda funny that in order to unlock the rytec you need to perform 15 quick scopes while the gun itself has the slowest ADS speed in the game.
All snipers are slow ads speed at default lol just use the kar98 just be glad they didn't put a challenge where you have to kill enemies through smoke

I mean to be fair even if they fixed the 200m zero and bumped its headshot damage to one shot on headshots its still has incredibly slow ADS compared to the HDR and AX50, and the explosive shots are very slow and unrelaible for serious long range. Its more a fun weapon to use for the novelty and ground war rather than a serious competitor to the other two snipers and the Kar98.

That first miss in Warzone has been exactly how my AX-50 has acted the last week. I swear they've changed the aim somehow. I snipe 95% of the time, so I notice this stuff.
The explosive damage is equal by shooting at chest, head, and leg.
As you mentioned, the gun is dialed in to about 200m, and has quite a bit of bullet drop. So, when it's dialed in for that distance it going to be arcing shots over people's heads, especially at medium ranges when the bullet is at the peak of it arc and furthest away from your point of aim. This would simply require a bit of practice to figure out your hold on enemies at different ranges, and I think is kind of a good balancing factor in using the 25mm rounds for that gun, which are incredibly odd cartridges to use irl. Most likely what happened with this whole thing is that the default zeroing distance is probably shared between all the projectiles this thing fires, and is not all that noticeable with .50bmg seeing as it shoots point blank out to 300 meters or so. But, with the 25mm rounds there needs to be more of an offset in order for it to zero out to that distance, which is what you're showcasing in the video. I honestly don't think its that big a deal and could easily become a meta tactic in using this incredibly powerful weapon. I know you were just trying to illustrate the problem in game, but if you would simply study the behavior of the weapon and adjust your play style accordingly, I think you'd find its pretty usable.

It's not a vertical curve, it's just calibrated so that the cross hair lines up the bullet drop at 200m, rather than at 0m like most. It could be that they intended it to be used at long range hence the weird calibration (not very useful but I could understand that) but since it has piss poor damage over all ranges I have to assume it was a mistake.

The Rytec is my favorite sniper because when I use explosive rounds I get constant 1 shots from short to long ranges from stomach and above but the legs are 2 shots

I think it's just explosive rounds... When i was leveling the AMR i had explosive rounds as soon as they unlocked after that it Would NOT level anymore, was stuck at level 16. Once i took them off it updates fine. Im using the Thermite ones now.

Ok I figured out why this is happening. It seems that the vertical recoil takes effect even before the bullet leaves the chamber causing it to shoot higher than expected.
Its hard to explain real life effects and attributes to gamers that expect things to be within there thought parameters. A gun that shoots over a mile with that type of velocity does have some short to mid range rise in its shot pattern. If its recoil, maybe see if it is the same prone. I dunno, In real life that is a cannon. Just a thought.

They should add the zeroing feature from battlefield.
With how ridiculously flat bullet drop curves are in this game (despite everyone whining about them) and in contrast to other games like BF or Arma, zeroing really isn't necessary.

Take it out for long range sniping with explosive rounds, 176 base damage at any range, then +25 from the explosion = you are breaking all armor on a full hp, or getting downs all over the place if you are 3rd partying shots. Rifle is meant for long range, hence slow ads and 200m zero.... if it had 100m zero 400m shots would be impossible. Build for bullet velocity, and personally I put the focus or perk that prevents sprinting instead recoil/stability mods. On top of all of this, a lot of the people I shoot at have no clue where it is coming from initially so when I 1 shot a team mate down, they usually just crawl a little and think they are good, so I either can confirm it or get 2 kills.... its hularious

I KNEW IT! I was complaining that my shots weren't registered and all I got in game chat was "git gud" "nob" etc.
Maybe this will help someone: I unlocked it also in about an hour maybe a bit longer but I used the EBR-14 with a sniper scope and that made getting the 3 quickscopes easy. You can also leave the match right away after you get the 3 kills and it will still count towards the Rytec obj.

Friend and I did some tests and figured the only way to get headshots from around 160-200m in the middle of your crosshairs was using the first barrel you unlock. we didn't have to aim down to hit the head like Stod did though when testing it stock/with ads attachments. (unless that's because he was using explosive rounds?) really hope they change this I thought I was going crazy

It seems like this is also an issue in multiplayer, headshots and even to some extremes, center mass shots aren't hitting. I thought I was going crazy thinking my shots should hit but weren't. This proves that it actually was the gun itself and not my aim.
Yeah the gun is unusable in Warzone tbh. I’ve tried all the different ammo types and it just doesn’t compete with the HDR, AX, or Kar

Yo Stodeh, the gun is zeroed at 300 meters. It's completely different than all other snipers, they went with the realistic traditional zeroing for the Barrett which is 300 meters. Every youtuber I have seen so far has done the same thing where they go for those close shots and hit high. I've made a 728m headshot and a 780 meter head shot on plunder using the explosive tips.
since they took out 52 vs 52 Rumble, unlocking this gun through warzone matches is going to be terrible.

I enformed the head of the customer support team of this issue. The BMG is the .50cal which is made by Barrett. With a single round u can shot roughly 6” to the left or right or above and away from the body to get a kill. The force of the round at that speed will tear away chunks of body.
What if you used the FMJ perk and explosive rounds and used the gun more like a launcher instead? Try that against vehicles and helicopters.
FMJ doesn't add any damage, only penetration. Right? You could probably penetrate the driver easier through the vehicle. Would the explosiveness carry through the wallbang? Interesting

Since unlocking this gun i absolutely love it. I didnt got the time to test it in Warzone already, but in normal gamemodes this is insane. I played several rounds of ground war in order to get the longshots done and was able to hit players on distances of 300+ meters ( which is almost across the complete verdansk Harbor map) right on the point of my crosshair. there is literally no bulletdrop with this gun and you still can make use of high firing speed so this gun is pretty good i think, but AS i said i will have to test it in warzone.

For me the wrong zeroing was a kind of blessing because sometimes I don't have a good aim for headshots so when I aim to their chests I down them in 1 single shot. Maybe I would switch the suppressor for the muzzle brake and a bipod for a faster recoil control and be able to spam the shots more often. This is an anti material rifle and shouldn't be used as a fast ads sniper, if you want those the Kar is one of the best guns. The Rytec is meant to take out light vehicles, I took out a 3 man squad just by shooting 3 shots at their truck. I take out those pesky helicopters and stop the guys who try to run me over or run away. So the Rytec is not the best, but is not bad at all.
Not to mention that the bottom part of the charging handle clips through the part under the ejection port and the .50 BMG rounds have the same model as the 25x59 grenade rounds
The standard ammo actually has a different model and texture than both 25mm conversions (HE has a Blue projectile, thermite is red and the standard mag has what looks like HEDP (high explosive dual purpose) rounds in it), leads me to think that they initially didn't plan on having a .50 BMG conversion for this rifle (further supported by the fact that it's datablock name is "iw8_sn_xmike109" --> XM109). On top of that, the charging handle/bolt don't actually have enough travel distance to load another round due to the upper receiver not having that cutout which extends the travel distance. This weapon seems rushed and appears to have been changed mid development in order to not set the sniper community on fire even more than it already was.
The no recoil barrel makes a big difference. Can't suppress it, but you can mag dump it. Plus idk if range even matters with explosive rounds (I mean, that would make sense in real life but who knows.)
One thing I will say is that in mp it absolutely rips through vtols, I was honestly surprised when I destroyed a vtol with 1 magazine of explosive ammo

Explosive rounds on AMRs (anti material rifles) are always low-splash, high vehicle damage shots. It’s like HE shells in tank cannons, you sacrifice splash for pure damage

I'm liking the 3rd barrel on the sniper. It really drops the recoil to make follow up shots rather accurate.
Fixed Rytec + 50v50 rumble = MADNESS
My rytec is gold and 70% done with obsidian and all that time has made me realize that the rytec has a very wierd consistency on multiplayer as well. The muzzle velocity has some play in this and there is always a second delay between the shot and your kill.
I have had a game where I shot a guy running around a corner and had not gotten it registered until he was halfway around the corner.

I think the scope zero actually makes sense. Since its a long range Anti-Material rifle and it even has markings in the scope for ballistic holdover, including one above the center of the cross hair for point blank shooting. I do think they should fix the headshot multipliers in warzone though
The headshot multiplier is bugged in warzone atm do the devs are planning an making it a one shot headshot with regular rounds.
People are already calling for a nerf for this thing in MP. It's very easy to get 5x feeds with the explosive rounds since the maps are so small. If they fix the bugs on this, I think it'll fill a nice niche; having an anti-material rifle in Warzone that can actually destroy vehicles is cool.
Anyone calling for a Rytec nerf needs to remember the HDR has a barrel that basically eliminates bullet-drop and turns it into a 500m hit-scan 1-hit headshot machine in warzone.

For warzone I've been rocking the thermite rounds it's still a 2 shot but u can land a 2nd shot really quick and finish the kill once you get the hang of the gun its really fun to use

It's zeroed for longer range engagements like its real life counter part. If you know anything about guns you'll know why this is. A 50 BMG sniper isn't something you'd commonly use sub 200 or 300 meter engagements when you have much lighter designated marksman that could hit that target (yes i know they can hit targets much further than that, just tryna prove a point), unless you need that good old destructive power
When using the thermal scope you can see the bullet travel with the explosive/ thermite rounds. therefore you can adjust your shots more easily.
I’m pretty sure the bullet drop is inverted as you have the aim lower to hit their head the further you go which is the opposite to bullet drop
Stodeh, this is a good thing! the gun is ment to be used for longrange, ofc the zeroing is "off".. so no this is not Broken.. this is good and some what realistic , the bad part is that Infinity Ward didn't informed us about it, what is still broken is the fing Grau, lost a 10m combat to a Grau again using my UZi and i beamed him in the uper cheast... i am more upset that Grau i stil OP than the zeroing on the new sniper is for 200meters..

FYI You can check ingame if you've progressed that round. Just go to change your sniper and see if it's been counted for.

It worked at first, then I'm thinking they nursed it in warzone. The thermite rounds used to hit and down them instantly now it does nothing. The explosive rounds used to kill them instantly. They changed it
How does it behave without the suppressor? Sometimes adding a suppressor will add velocity and change point of impact in regard to point of aim, and I do not know if maybe they set up the game mechanics to reflect this. I mean they increase the range with the suppressor, and on a .50 you would definitely notice.
