Malacia looks a bargain for 15 million. Very Evra-like. Rashford brilliant like a few years ago. Martinez is a warrior. Dalot very good, McSauce played good too. Martial did well when he came on. Casemiro will be a great addition. One thing is for sure, Maguire doesn't belong anywhere near that team. Far more organised at the back. But that's the minimum they need for every game. Full commitment, desire, aggression. But no point in doing it just against Liverpool, need to bring that attitude every game.

I was thoroughly impressed with the aggression that Dalot showed as well... He heads and shoulders above wan Bissaka as RB.
That performance is proof they downed tools. They wanted certain players, hindrances on the team to be dropped.
I think it’s being overlooked how much passion and skill Dalot played with today from the starting whistle. He made many high effort plays really early that I feel set the tempo and rubbed off on everyone else. Showed signs of wear early but I rather have a 100% effort for a solid half than a half effort 90 minutes

Martinez and Malacia are really press resistant on that left side. Several times they both bypassed the press with a few quick passes and progressed the ball very fast. Both were tenacious and agressive in their defensive duties. Can say the same for Dalot in the first half. Delt with Díaz very well. And Varane was just a rock. Bruno started to lose his head after an hour. But before that he was having a good game and was unlucky not to get a few assists for his efforts. I'm more than happy with the team performance. But if we drop points against the Saints. Then this game doesn't mean alot. Winning needs to be a consistency from this point. Atleast until we run into harder fixtures.
This probably won't be a popular comment but I can see Bruno losing his place if he keeps losing his head, and a card for diving in front of the new boss

Varane has been so professional since his arrival and is an absolute leader in that defence when everything else has failed with Maguire, Lindelof and Shaw. He needs to be the leader now that United have new blood in Martinez and Malacia for a fresh start. They will go down that same road like the rest of them if Maguire leads them.
But the Glazers will force Maguire and Shaw on Ten Hag next match. Just wait and see.

It was like the team got lifted with harry out of the side. I haven't seen the team like this in a long time. Everyone was happy, motivated, giving their best for each other. It was great to watch. I hope it's not a fluke and we keep it up. We need to break up the dressing room and play the right players.

Over the moon with the result, Varane was wonderful, I loved the fire and tenacity of Martinez, Malacia was brilliant in a baptism of fire. The key now is consistency, Ten Hag is the man. Glazers Out!
Whilst im pleased for Rashford...this game was set up nicely for him to do what he knows how to do...run & shoot.
The issue will be when ETH tries to play his normal posession based game, then having to play in tight spaces, slow the game down, track back, overlap & make a cross, will be a challenge for him...so until he improves those facets of his game the whole team will still struggle.

Rashford has lost that ability to take on players or drift into the midfield and playing well
Either he is encouraged to take on defenders or dropped
But yeah rashford is a last 30 min player
The most encouraging aspect of this team was the performance of the two defenders EtH has bought to the club. Martinez and Malacia were both really good; proof that the manager is a good judge of a player. The only worrying thing is that Varanne is almost certain to get injuries. We have three games in a week; can Varanne play all three? And if he doesn't play - who does?

People always focus on attacking partnerships but CB partnerships are harder to forge and far more important. Requires two players to think like one. Hopefully this is the start of something

For me Malacia was MOTM. He just surpassed all expectations and ultimately kept Salah so quiet. He was getting up and down that left flank really well. Varane and Martinez were class too. I thought Dalot was quite poor tbh. He looked like our weaklink. Definitely need another RB
For me, Martinez was just slighlty better than Malacia due to itensity and how often he would find himself all around the pitch. Intercepting left, right and center. So composed on the ball, and in a way both Malacia and Martinez bullied Liverpool's forwards

I was worried that TH would insist on playing a high line regardless of the opposition and our ability to do so. But he has just shown he can be pragmatic and has a range of tactical solutions.

Tbf, it’s easy to see that something is wrong but I think ten Haag wanted to experience exactly what is wrong with all those players.
I also think aswell that if he’d benched them from the start, they could always play the “aw i was never given a chance” card. Playing them and exposing them has negated that.
