- I couldn't believe after all these years, there was no English version to this song except Don't Trust the Voices! So, I made one with so-vits-svc and my t.A.T.u. AI model. The instrumental has been remade from scratch.

You’re making me cry, this is so good 🥺 I was born in 2002, right in the peak of their career, so as someone who grew up listening to them at around 5-6 years old and never stopped, this makes me so happy. Hopefully they’ll make one more album before riding off into the sunset. We can only hope 🙏

So many songs we never got to hear English (or Russian) versions of can finally be translated. I love this.
I'm glad! If you got requests for translations I got a discord for that, to keep things organized. Progress might be a little slow since I had to pick up a day job to make ends meet, but I at least want to get accurate english and russian versions for the songs that don't have them!
@@ItsJustAdrean- The ones I’d most like to hear in English are Dochitay Do Sta and Ya Tvoy Vrag. My other two favorites would be Ty Soglasna or a version of Vsye Moya Lyubov that’s closer to the Russian lyrics too. That’s a lot though.

I recorded an english version of this song, but i was too lazy to release it years ago LMAO. Anyways, it sounds 100% authentic. It still needs some work around the edges (some words are slightly off beat, and the pitch correction on the verses is too aggressive. In the chorus it's not as out of place, but not tuning background vocals can create a wider sound. Which, is what made the chorus of the original so busy-sounding). Flaws aside, it's a really good work! And your style really fits early tATu / WM era too. NOW MAKE MORE MATERIALS CUZ WE ARE FAMISHED

Also, there isn't correction on the verses. Maybe I should apply it. The ai wasn't responding well to how busy my own pitch transitions are. I can also do some uncorrected dubs for the chorus panned left and right and see how that sounds, maybe with my own screams to give an edge. It's so high up for me it is bound to be pitchy (if I've posted Sucker for a smooth criminal, you can hear my natural range 😂😂😂)

Your translation is really solid. It could be made even better with some refinements, but definitely heaps better than the "Don't Trust Their Voices" version. Any chance to have this go over the original instrumental?

Unfortunately the original instrumental I could only find was the demo version and an mp3 at that. As for the translation, I couldn't find a way to translate any more literally without breaking rhyme scheme or repeating words, such as "my ass" would be "in me" and then followed by "someone like me"
I'm not a Russian native, but I would be considered fluent. I think the translation is okay as it stands. What improvements would you make?
@@ItsJustAdrean I don't speak Russian at all - so only looking at the exact translation, the accuracy, in my opinion, is already awesome.
If anything, I think - more from the perspective of being a songwriter - there is still some space to lose a little bit of accuracy but improve the flow. Same as you did with "my ass" because I think that works amazingly well.
An example:
"Someone goes missing
Someone is tired, no longer wants this"
Here, "missing" could be instead rhymed with "listening" while still preserving the general meaning.
Or we can go a bit deeper:
"Somebody pulling electrical wiring
Somebody moving onto a new theme"
If we take "wiring" to mean more generally control, perhaps it could be something like
"Somebody tugging like puppets on strings
Somebody switching and forcing new themes"
Of course, everyone will have different opinions on what does and doesn't sound good. I already love what you did, especially because I was thinking earlier about how cool it would be if this existed!

The only problem with someone else pulling the puppet wires is that in the song, Yulia and Lena themselves are the ones doing the pulling and disconnecting from society as far as I can tell. The song is loosely based on the gulag and compares society to that

This is amazing!🤩Until now I hadn't been able to find any version/adaptation that seemed as true to how the official English version could have really been, you definitely captured the essence of TATU. Also i'm curious, how do you do this stuff? Do you have to actually sing the song and later put that into the AI or something? It is fascinating👏😎✨.
I actually sing real time into the AI with a model I made based off of their cleanest, driest acapellas, and even that had to be chopped into 7 second sections for my card to handle it. Also I have to have the exact same accent or it will take on my native deep south accent. Luckily I took russian 😂
Thats the tldr. The full list is below
Step 1: install python anaconda
Step 2: install so-vits-svc fork and all dependencies (hardest part)
Step 3: get raw data, train model
Step 4: test your model out to see if it is junk
Step 5, you sing and play with settings until it sounds okay on your headphones. Once it does, install a virtual audio cable because you are ready to record
Step 6, I hope you can sing, because you will be singing blindly any part you intend to cover.
Step 7, record output into audacity and record each section of song 5 to 6 times. The AI does occasionally screw up syllables or vowels. It helps to loop a section of music in another player for overdubs
That's essentially how I did it. I sing everything in the exact pitch and accent of the singer in question or it doesn't work 😂

You know I thought about changing the second line, though part of the original is that it actually has very sparse lyrics. You could reconstruct the chorus from 7 words, "Ne ver, ne boisya, ne prosi, i uspokojsya" which is related to an old saying from the gulag. Don't trust, don't fear, don't beg. And calm down. The rest of the lyrics are related to this gulag theme which turns out is hard to succinctly write about in English!

this AI doesn't sound really like Lena but it's incredible how accurate sounds Julia,
That is probably on part of my accent 😅 Her accent is in that in between valley of distinctly Russian and international English, whereas my own is a midland accent, southern US, OR extremely thick Russian with little in between. Hence Julia is little problem but Lena is difficult 😂😂
