You have given me a lot of pleasure with your UA-cam channel, please except this very small token of my appreciation.
Warm wishes Paul, greetings, Luke
That’s very nice of you. Many thanks for your support!
Wishing you the best as you make these changes! Thank You for all that you do!
Well, that's very kind of you - many thanks !
Dear Paul, I see a brilliant future for you. I already know that your new web site will be very very nice with very interesting content, even better than it is now and the quality of your presentations has always been excellent. Looking forward to experience the rebirth of your site. All my very best wishes and Thank You so much for the sonic wisdom you keep charing. 🙂.
I look forward to each new video, been here for about 6 months. I get myself a cup of Tea sit down and soak it all up and it's been great so thank you for this. I think most people will understand that you need to support yourself and nothing stays the same anyhow. I know I will still be here tuning in to every video, I did not realise the website had sooooooo much on it, that's another favourite on my browser.
Very nice of you to comment, Kevin and thanks for understanding. Thanks for checking out the website too. Stick with me, there’s lots more to come :)
Hi Paul you were featured in the latest edition of “Connect” magazine from Russ. Which mentioned you had a UA-cam channel.
I was? Ooo, I have it here to read actually. I’ll put the kettle on and browse. Thanks for the heads up.
Well worth being a patreon, your replies to my many questions have been very helpful Paul and your buyers guides outstanding. Thank you for a brilliant channel.
That’s very kind of you, Tony and thank you for being a part of the whole Patreon thing.
Thanks!
That’s very nice of you indeed. Much appreciated. That will go straight to my first website bill! :)
I subscribed but you only currently have 38,100 subscribers on UA-cam. I remember your contribution to HiFi World & your current highly professional videos. You have managed to adapt.
Ahh, you were there when HiFi world was up and running? Well thank you for following me over here. Welcome to the channel.
@@TheAudiophileMan HIfi world was a personal favourite of mine as was HiFi answers. No HiFi mags on the shelves anymore but I felt advertising dictated what they wrote anyway. Some of the best stuff I aquired was off the internet as the local shops would try to sell you ex dem gear or not understand your needs or budget.
Paul as a patreon of your channel, for the cost of a monthly HIFI magazine (a diminishing market) your reviews and opinions greatly help in choosing equipment, music and knowledge. The amount of work you put into your site is obviously appreciated by those of us willing to contribute financially each month. Thanks and keep up the great work.
Thank you very much for that - warms the cockles, it does :) Seriously though, your opinions are important as is your support. Much appreciated.
Probably redundant but thank you for your channel and best wishes going forward.
No, not redundant. Always welcome. Thank you very much.
Steve Gutenberg says the daily episode of what he is thinking was critical to his business, although hard to do. Just a thought.
And it’s a valid thought, I agree. And I also agree that it’s hard to do. It invites burn out. Even so, it’s something to consider. Part of me rebels against the notion, I have to say because that’s what UA-cam wants. You end up working for UA-cam and becoming an algorithm slave. Jumping when it tells you to jump. Promising riches if only you would sell your soul and all that. The only way to do it would be an ‘on the fly’ zero production approach because it’s the production side that eats time. I can spend days just editing. Even so, thanks for the suggestion. I will ponder.
@@TheAudiophileMan Steve doesn’t do the variety of things you do. So his daily comments are just things he thinks about and posts. Like checking in for a job. He told me personally it’s a bit of a burden but I think you can do it.
IMHO once you get a system down and all the gear placed and editing set into a doable routine (without spreading yourself too thin) it’ll be like Bob Fosse or, rather like Roy Scheider portrayed him in the film “All That Jazz” you’ll wake up, look in the mirror and say “Showtime!”
Hehe - yes, nice metaphor. And yes, a change has gotta come, as the song says. So that might be a valid direction. I may have to take a brief rain check while all of my other changes run their course (there's some personal changes occurring too which is also delaying things) - but yes, great point,
Hi Paul, your videos about cleaning vinyl were a big help to me in getting so much more information out of my records, so: much obliged! But then again 'much obliged' won't pay the bills, not even the smallest part of them!
So apart from being very thankful, I would like to become a patron. Three questions: #1 Can I swap monthly between the given options (or even skip a month)? question #2: is there (some kind of -monthly-) index of subjects you talked about in the €12 option? and #3: what are these 'early bird' videos? ;)
Hi Bart - well that's very nice of you. And thanks for asking the questions. Yes, you can change the amount of cash you donate at any time, you can stop, miss a month or three, restart again. You're not tied in.
For the higher tier? Good question and I can't see an easy way to filter that. I look at the tier options here and, because the higher tier also gives you access to the lower tier, everything is mixed up. In broad terms though, there are a number of archival HiFi reviews in there from my time with HiFi World magazine, including Group Tests. There's also music related features on albums, music artists and more plus musical ramblings and thoughts-type editorial. I also have a music memorabilia series of columns that feature text/images on music rarities such as vinyl, posters, clothing, cars, etc.
The 'early bird' videos option allows you a first access entry into any new video I produce. So, for example, the Sunday review video will be able to be seen on - say - the previous Thursday. Sometimes it's a lot earlier. Recently, that amounted to a video accessible via Patreon a couple of weeks before the UA-cam publication, I recall. But normal its 3-4 days before it hits UA-cam.
Hope all that helps. If you are able to support me over there then it would be much appreciated, of course. Oh and I've just posted the first Patreon-exclusive HiFi News, Etc video over there!
@@TheAudiophileMan hi Paul, you can count me in. Looking forward to all 'the goodies'. ;)
@@bartfeis3925 Thank you Bart and thank you for joining! Just seen your notification. Very kind of you to support me. Very much appreciated.
Hello Paul, great news. Been a long time watcher. Is there a chance to get in touch with you via email? Thanks Nadine
Hi Nadine, thank you for your support. Is this the Degritter idea? Sorry, what with these proposed changes, I’ve been preoccupied. Can you do me a favour and place a Comment on my site? Any comment, anywhere. I will see it. It won’t be public. Please expand on your ideas, what exactly you propose and we can go from there. Please include an email address. Sorry again for the delay.
