Josh&Josh,,,, Howard Hughes would have been PROUD of both of you. Love the videos keep up the Good work. I can't wait til spring to do some flying myself.
wish you all would have mentioned the problems it has with the motor cutting out at 100%power or having to have the rudder 1mm to the left these are things alot of problems us geebee owners had but on the bright side eflite - horizon hobby have great costumer service and fixed it asap its still a great plane and i love mine still great video and flying yall my favorite you tube channel
7:59 Imagine Josh being stopped by road patrol and him wearing that hat and a spliff lit in his mouth! I think he would getaway with a headlight ticket :))
FYI You said "Not many flying at all either", truth is, there was only one Gee Bee R2 built. Also perpetuating GEE BEE myths about a dangerous design. Truth is, the Gee Bee accidents, were unfortunate accidents, not poor design. Jimmy Doolittle to raced them and lived. Brush up on Gee Bee history.
19 mph wind is nothing. where i fly that is low wind. the craziest winds i have flown in is 50 mph gusts with my super cub. you barely move forward and it took off and landed like a helicopter.
It’s absolute nonsense that the Gee Bee is inherently unstable, ask anyone flying any one of the many models of the R or Z variants (without the need for stabilisation) just how stable they fly. The reputation of the Gee Bee as deadly comes from one single crash - massively hyped in an age when aeronautics were not widely understood by the public and media. My Electrifly Gee Bee is as stable and easy to land as the Cherokee, none of them with stabilisation installed btw
I tell all my students to remember this: The Wind is my Friend. Write it down! Great job with your videos guys. I look forward to every new installment of Flite Test. Keep up the good work!
Love this model so much, I have two of them. One is a hack one, and the other to keep pristine. Knife edges so well and looks so good. Pity they don't make it any more.
Well look at the freaking thing, it's like a 5 inch wing and then just a big bulk of foam or plastic, about the size of a freaking head, and then the tail isnt even as big as a gocart scaled down. When I look at that thing and here that it flew I look at it amd my mind explodes, and I think to myself "oh a cool looking cgi model that should never actually exist".
even tho it was the wind planes can go in reverse if they have a v-pitch prop a prop for a plane that has collective pitch doing whats being called 4d flying
Why not try to build a 4D plane that you put on throttle up using a heli blade setup in the center that only changes angle of attack while using reinforced foam board with a plastic or rubber nose. I would do this but I don't have the money. Last thing if you don't know how to make your videos longer just add some fun flights and be able to go on tv.
I have the p-51 and the beast, the p-51 is nothing like the beast The beast is alot faster, more maneuverable, and has a higher wing loading. Depending on your skill with the champ, I would probably recommend the p- 51. The beast is only good for 3d or pattern flying, but only if you have experience with that. the p-51 is calmer to fly and can fly hands off if trimmed right, the plane fly’s great all around and my only problem with it is that it has a lot of adverse yaw effect when rolling
I wish they would make this compatible with Futaba. I had the 1/4 scale Gee Bee R-2 with a 2.40 O.S. Super Gemini twin flat 4 cyl. 40cc. It flew 100+mph, had to land about 45mph. It was a bitch to land. Flew awesome in the air!
Im drunk and needed to test if my sound was working. I searched for test. I was pleasantly surprised that my sound does indeed work and that there is a video of remote control planes with severed heads.
Knowing that the words "stability, and the Gee Bee don't typically go together ! I am truly amazed that this LITTLE plane actually seems to be flying quite well ! AMAZING !
Thank you flite test I just got into the hobby about four months ago thanks to you:-)I have a three channel sky cub, a sky surfer and a max thrust Ryan, my next will be a micro four channel to help me learn the controls a bit better, I still find it difficult to only make small adjustments, I am trying to get into FPV, ideas for first, affordable goggles etc?
Flew it back to back with an MPD Commander. The Commander's size and weight helped it penetrate the wind. The tiny Gee Bee's AS3X made it almost that stable!
WHY AGE RISTRICTION???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????/
On this ? Why on Earth would there be an AGE RESTRICTION on something so innocent as the model aircraft hobby ? Something that kids should be more involved with, more exposed to ? Not sure why this is continuing to happen to simple, innocent subject matter ?
You guys are great, you are the best I like to see with flight reviews and always fun to watch ! Thank you for sharing so much with us out here. Keep on for many many more years ✈
The word you were looking for is "inclement".
Good testimony to AS3X tech.
Amazing demonstration of Josh Bixler's skills.
Josh&Josh,,,, Howard Hughes would have been PROUD of both of you. Love the videos keep up the Good work. I can't wait til spring to do some flying myself.
I love the food joke, you guys are all right with me.I have been flying R/C since I was 5.I am 53.Also have taught many people to fly R/C.
I literally was considering buying this yesterday and I had no idea it had a flitetest video on it let alone an 8 YEAR ILD VIDEO
Hey thanks for your shows. You guys are like the TopGear of the RC flight world. I look forward to watching your videos. Thanks
wish you all would have mentioned the problems it has with the motor cutting out at 100%power or having to have the rudder 1mm to the left these are things alot of problems us geebee owners had but on the bright side eflite - horizon hobby have great costumer service and fixed it asap its still a great plane and i love mine still great video and flying yall my favorite you tube channel
AS3X is awesome! have it on my P-40 (after swapping to a 4x prop) it performs quite well in wind also!
This is TopGear, of the R/C world!
pro tip : you can watch series on Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using it for watching all kinds of movies these days.
@Emanuel Mekhi definitely, I have been watching on Flixzone for since december myself :D
The p51 is a good step up from the champ that's what i bought after the champ and i love it.
relly that battery is so small compaered to the size of the housing what is the biggest you could put in
U guys are awesome!
7:59 Imagine Josh being stopped by road patrol and him wearing that hat and a spliff lit in his mouth! I think he would getaway with a headlight ticket :))
Man I miss Josh (not bixler) he brang a lot of humor to the videos but he's doing something else he loves so that's good...watching in 2019
hey, guys how are you ? couldn't you make a little clip, where you show us some basic aerobatic tricks?
Im still confused wat a spat is?
Nice review guys! Sucker looks fun!
Joe
Boeing installed AS3X on the 737 MAX 8...
Keep em' coming. You guys are hilarious :)
Brush up on Gee Bee history.
do you have to have a dx8 or dx6i to fly this gee bee r2??
Why age restricted?
No, just have to place the battery how you like the center of gravity.
hey can you do a review on the imx as3xtra thanks
when are you going to fly the hyper taxi in the background
Poor Josh B, nobody told him he had a dead weasel on his head..... Guess it goes well with the severed head. :)
19 mph wind is nothing. where i fly that is low wind. the craziest winds i have flown in is 50 mph gusts with my super cub. you barely move forward and it took off and landed like a helicopter.
wow really like u guys im subscribed
i want to buy this and mod a giant motor to it
Eskmm1Mount a O.S. 90 engine on it!! That would be awesome!!!
HaHaHa..Josh when you put it on the ground you had it in reverse...LoL...
they are called wheel struts
those are called fairings they cover the struts and and the bottom is called wheel pants!
buddy busker they are also called "spats," especially on airplanes (aeroplanes) of this vintage.
wow... that needed a -1foot runway
Too windy for that plane
It’s absolute nonsense that the Gee Bee is inherently unstable, ask anyone flying any one of the many models of the R or Z variants (without the need for stabilisation) just how stable they fly. Looks like a bubble gum plane.
5:11 Thats what she said
It’s so *UGLY*
"And this guy is nothing but a severed head. It's a little bit creepy."
I tell all my students to remember this: The Wind is my Friend. Write it down! Great job with your videos guys. I look forward to every new installment of Flite Test. Keep up the good work!
The GeeBee and the Bugatti were my favorite plane designs as a child, they still hold up today!
Tiny wings. Giant motor. Takes off on 7 inches of runway. Glides. What is physics again?
Love this model so much, I have two of them. One is a hack one, and the other to keep pristine. Knife edges so well and looks so good. Pity they don't make it any more.
now available with as3x and safe, and a 3600kv motor
Well look at the freaking thing, it's like a 5 inch wing and then just a big bulk of foam or plastic, about the size of a freaking head, and then the tail isnt even as big as a gocart scaled down. When I look at that thing and here that it flew I look at it amd my mind explodes, and I think to myself "oh a cool looking cgi model that should never actually exist".
"You wouldn't dream of flying a little guy like this in 19 mph winds"
3 seconds later they're flying it.
even tho it was the wind planes can go in reverse if they have a v-pitch prop a prop for a plane that has collective pitch doing whats being called 4d flying
it does a good STOL on windy days.lol
That was so funny when the plane went backwards and then it went forwards, then immediately flew off
Y AGE RESTRICTION ITS A PLANE WITH A ELECTRIC MOTOR AND IS REMOTE CONTROLLED WTF IS AGE RESTRICTED IN A FOAM BODY
PatBALEX - He didn't have it in reverse, fool. It was the wind pushing it backwards!
Tiny severed head is better than no head.
how much is it?
whoops I didn't mean to dislike! Sorry guys you are the best!!!!
did u know this video is age restricted
I know...Just having a little fun..
Another nice job guys.
And Josh B. you didn't make up a word but you meant... Incremental.
Inclement is like bad weather.
How do i see this video... I'm over 60 for F@@@k sake...
Just got one! Flies like your mini Sportster!
POURQUOI UNE RESTRICTION D'ÂGE !? VOUS FAITES QUAND MÊME PAS DES CHOSES BIZARRES (je suis sûr que vous comprenez de quoi je parle) EN VIDÉO !!!
lol I think it took off before it was going forward.
Well done guys! I love the laugh-tude I get from watching you two. DON'T change a thing!
West
the umx beast 3d is much more better
I wish they'd make these again!
I think he meant bad weather...

AMAZING !
Wtg josh looking forward to a combat vid with you to ;)
I think in the 168 episodes I've watched this is the first time I've seen JS without a hat/toque. Am I wrong?
Wow nice vid guys

fly the plane with the lunch on board
:)
I flew this on my simulator and its the fastest plane on the simulator, lol.

WHY AGE RISTRICTION???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????/
+Official Deltic DP1 what do you mean
When he learns how to spell "restriction", they'll allow him to have one.
I bought my UMX GeeBee at SEFF 2011 from Mac Hodges's Hobby Shop . I believe you guys were there. Wish I could make Flite Test East!!!
Were you at SEFF 2011.
On this ?
Why on Earth would there be an
AGE RESTRICTION on something so innocent as the model aircraft hobby ?
Something that kids should be more involved with, more exposed to ?

whats the controler set up you have. could you do a video on that.
@ DestructoXxShaunxX
A spat is a cover that goes over the wheels.
You guys are great, you are the best I like to see with flight reviews and always fun to watch ! Thank you for sharing so much with us out here. Keep on for many many more years ✈
My dogs name is lucy goosie
Hey im a 14 jear old fullsize glider Pilot in Germany and i know Somebody who has a geebee (fullsize)

İojüp5
Is this the one at Hobby Bench?
They are called "Wheel Pants"
A lot of wind. May i suggest. GASEZ, works wonders lol
Anyone know how to program safe into a DX-6 or DX-8? In the book it tells how to use the stock radio.
Hahaahahahahahahahhahahahhahahhahahaa lolololol 2:30 so good. classic
yay
Because their studs and can actually fly a plane! ;)
not a great idea if you have never flowen before.
Delmar Benjamin has built and flown a full scale GeeBee replica.
I SEE THAT YOU HAVE THE TAXI IN THE BACKGROUND
What Josh Scott needs is a flying lunchbox...
Wind is your friend...
Good flying guys.
Love the hat!
It also penetrates really really well.
thanks for the truth.... God Bless
The r2 was the more aerodynamic one
I love that hat. lol keep up the good work.
