Im a little baffled by all the other youtubers getting brand new bikes from harley. I stopped watching them because i just cant relate to them and their reviews of products only for the 2024 models. Im more than happy with my 2019 electra glide.
Well, I definitely like the 2024’s and think they’re a better value than they have been in the previous years taking into account everything you’re getting as far as the base price now. I can’t blame anybody for upgrading. I probably would myself but it’s important to know, these content creators aren’t being given bikes they are paying for them. Harley cannot sell direct to a consumer so they have to go through a dealership to purchase them. They may be getting a discount that’s between them and the dealer.
I noticed the same thing and it seemed a little weird. I wondered if they were really spending their own cash on these new Harleys or if Harley was making deals with them to help promote the product.
It’s an arms race. Aftermarket development teams are racing to unlock the new ecms so they can begin selling compatible product. That is why everyone is buying 2024s imo.

I agree, I am currently editing my own video about the 2024s...I love the new street glide, but I'm not ready to pull the trigger on a new one. The big youtubers just go and get them given to them which is great for them but I'm not there to buy a new bike all the time. Oh and I'm currently look at an Ultra '19.

There's a simple reason I'm not buying one I can't afford one. Will never be able to buy another new Harley in my life that's for sure be lucky if I can keep the repairs up on mine
I want a Road King Special so bad but they're only $1k less than Street & Road Glide which have 117 motors and a ton more with fairing speakers infotainment etc. I just don't understand their pricing logic with the Road King!? I feel like it should be the affordable entry bagger in the lineup since it's stripped down and it should be like $19,599 not $24,999! Also it's the same bike for several years and prior years was like $22,999 so why the extra $2k msrp when it's a carryover model!? No dealerships have it in stock cuz obviously nobody is buying them and dont wanna waste a single plot for it but they have tons of street & road glides every color so it seems like they're intentionally sabotaging the Road King Special to sell more Glides. $20k is alot for a bike but $25k + all fees reg etc is out of reach for me.
I've had black on my last 2 - the forks can chip, however - so something to think on. There are companies that make clear covers for that (Cruz Armor, I think?). Also - the rocker covers in black get milky - again - had that with my last two.

I totally understand about your lifestyle brother passing. My older sister passed away a couple of months ago. She was the first person that I wanted to show my new/used bike. Well, she is with me. Just not in the flesh. But you do have a nice house and garage.
I also had the same dislike for the red/orange coloring on the tank badging I thought I was being "picky" but it just doesnt look right to me. I wonder who at HD thought that would be a great look? Again it would have been proactive for the HD designers to ask the millions of HD fans about what they preferred as far as badging and other modifications to imrpove the HD motorcyle brand. I think subtle bagding speaks louder then big HD orange coloring emblems on clothing and hats and other accesories.
I don’t understand the mentality of constant upgrade and buying the latest flashy model. Harley’s are endlessly rebuildable. Older Harley’s have a cool factor that the new bikes don’t. I’ll never sell my 2019 FLSB. I did add a 2021 48 to the stable and it’s amazing. I love doing short (weekend long) tours on it. Sure it’s not so comfortable as the Sport Glide, but there is an amazing sense of achievement of putting down several thousand kilometres on it. A home of your own is way more important than any bike, put your time and money into that for the next couple of years.
I’m not happy with the direction the brands headed. VVT, and too many electrical issues for me to upgrade. I went with the 2024 road glide limited because I know it’s tried and tested to be reliable.
You are correct, that exactly what I paid for my 2024 Road Glide for all of your reasons, I wanted black trim and I have the Alpine Green which didn’t come from factory with black trim so Harley made it happen for me. I appreciate it cause the green only came with chrome trim. I love the bike with all the upgrades
Yeah here in Michigan I had three friends that Quint and went back to family businesses because they can't sell bikes right now because the banks consider a Harley-Davidson or motorcycles a toy and these banks are closing between 9 and sometimes even 11% interest rate on top of an already high ass bike and these people are ending up with like $650 to 750 payments... and now I'm seeing on the TV because inflation went up another 2 to 3% the government's on the border of raising it again another 1% and stabilize the economy... and now gas is going back up who the hell is going to have any money for toys
I’m keeping my 2019 ultra limited. One reason is I like the hydraulic clutch .cant beat that smoothness of a hydraulic. Second I don’t like all the crap they’re putting on the new bikes . Especially the new display.this will be my last Harley I’ll ride it till it drops then I’ll rebuild and do it all over again .

HD can’t sell to individuals, any discount I get would be from a dealer. I like the bikes but I make no promises and don’t push anything I don’t believe in.
Sorry for brother in laws passing. Maybe you have some HD operatives and can help answer the question regarding my favorite Touring Model - the Ultra Limited’s and its future. Do you know when it will be upgraded with the 117 and the Street Glides tech? Will it still have the lowers on the front engine guards for wind / weather protection and storage since the radiator moved on the Street Glide? I currently have a 2020 Ultra, but want to holdout for a new upgraded Ultra. Thanks for any insight.
I'm on my 6th Harley I have a 18 Road King Special and love it except I have to worry about the oil pump going bad even though it hasn't yet but many people have had it go bad on them and Harley should step up and recall it but they don't. That's why I'll never buy a new Harley again I will only buy used from now on and use the extra money to upgrade it to my liking. If Harley doesn't stop inflating their bikes and stop making people pay extra for upgrades they will eventually come to their demise. U already have 3 nice bikes in your garage u should just be thankful for that and focus on your new home purchase. Good luck.
FYI, one of those is my wife's ride, secondly I hear this about the oil pump and I am sure there is some truth to it but I don't personally know a single person that had mechanical issues because of it, if the problem was bad enough they would have to do a recall, enjoy the Road King it is a fun bike and ride safe.

Like to have a new one . But its not practical for me to spend 32000 for a blue bike with black exhaust . Because the dealer i live by they charge about 4000 in fees etc. I also live in missouri. Saw a 2024 at my local dealership and when I opened the lid on one of the saddlebags, there was a lot of overspray everywhere on the inside. Very sloppy for such an expensive bike. I’ll keep my 2023, overall fit and finish seems better
Why dont Pig Trail HD put a price tag on their bikes? All the bikes I have seen with gloss black front forks with high highway millage will have a lot of pitting. The brushed metal holds up a lot better.
Thanks! I know a MSRP dealer that won’t put tag on because they can get fined from HD for advertising a price under MSRP and Harley has raised MSRP mid year then got after dealers for the advertised price being below MSRP…
Bottom line - if you don’t wash the acidic bug guts off your forks after every ride, it doesn’t matter if the forks are clearcoated bare, or clearcoated black. They are going to look like crap in short order. Kinda weird complaining about the forks pitting and in the next sentence say that you just ride the bike and don’t clean it.
I’m brand new to the channel so let me first start by saying congratulations on your marriage. Terribly sorry to hear about your brother-in-law. Also congratulations on the new house in the shop. I’m now subscriber.
Here in uk I have taken both street and road glides out on demos first the road glide the audio did not work then on the run the engine management light came on on return to the dealer was told the system had frozen and needed an update the following week I took out the street and again the Audi on would not work either Bluetooth and also I brought a usb c wire with me bit again no audio. This all reminded me of the pan am I had with so many probs I offloaded after t months not enough time to list all problems in short I have quite a few Harley’s rain cams and m8 all have been reliable done over 100000 miles touring Europe but these new electrics are full of gremlins so best to wait until they address these unless you like having to constantly attend dealers which for me is 190 mile round trip prior to the revolution I would say Harley’s easily the most reliable bikes on the planet but these new electronics are spoiling this
I was told the audio issues were fixed in a recent update, you might also like to know that you can now update the bike yourself for these types of issues using a USB drive without having to go to the dealer. I have not done it, but I have spoke to someone who has.

Man, you got to get your priorities right and you're doing right. I can't believe how otherhard working YTubers with young families are buying the 2024s for the sake of 'keeping up with the Jones' after having spent so much on accessorising their previous ride - I do wonder the last time they took the family on a you-beaut holiday - perhaps to Europe (imagine what their kids are missing out on).
I think for some of the larger channels it as much a business decision as anything else and I respect that, when you’re full-time, it is your business to make content and the new 2024 are definitely something many people are interested in me. My parents never took me to Europe and I never took my kids and I don’t feel like I’m missing a thing, but I guess you don’t know what you don’t know.
@@RidingintheOzarksYes, I agree. I just used Europe as an example. My parents took me to Italy when I was 10 years old and it was amazing and I remember so much stuff 50+ years on. When my children were in their early teens they wanted to do a tour of Europe. We couldn't really afford it at the time but we went anyway as it was unlikely that we would have another opportunity. The experience is invaluable and both daughters have gone back as adults because the culture and history and sites are wonderful and interesting. Just saying.

The shop walls have foam board and plywood already for the walls but I might add more insulation to it over time. What do you recommend for the garage?
@@RidingintheOzarks Where I made My mistake, I loaded up my shop with all my equipment. It is very difficult to add insulation and electrical later because everything is in the way. Do your improvements now when it is easy to get to.
@@TheDans7300 everyone’s time has a different value to them, I value my time on the motorcycle more than my time without one, so I’ll give up time to work more in turn to have more time on a motorcycle, but that’s just me and what feeds my soul. But I do know plenty of people who ride and own Harley Davidson’s that are far from the classification of Rich.

I had to wait and close on my new house last month to get the new 2024 road glide too. Closed on the house and a week later I bought a new road glide blue burst and black trim.
@@RidingintheOzarks was a hard debate between the white and blue. Ultimately I went with the blue as it reminded me of my father’s bikes growing up. He had several blue bikes as it is his favorite color. Hope your house closing goes smoothly for you. Mine was a pain lots of hurdles but I made it through in the end and was able to close. Can’t wait to see ya on a new 24 model!

It is not just you, imo. They do use some focus group type marketing but this one misses the mark for me.

The 2024 bike controls make it look like a Honda. Too much going on. Sometimes simple is better. I love my 2019 Street Glide

FYI, one of those is my wife's ride, secondly I hear this about the oil pump and I am sure there is some truth to it but I don't personally know a single person that had mechanical issues because of it, if the problem was bad enough they would have to do a recall, enjoy the Road King it is a fun bike and ride safe.

Like to have a new one . But its not practical for me to spend 32000 for a blue bike with black exhaust . Because the dealer i live by they charge about 4000 in fees etc. I also live in missouri. Saw a 2024 at my local dealership and when I opened the lid on one of the saddlebags, there was a lot of overspray everywhere on the inside. Very sloppy for such an expensive bike. I’ll keep my 2023, overall fit and finish seems better

All the bikes I have seen with gloss black front forks with high highway millage will have a lot of pitting. The brushed metal holds up a lot better.
Thanks! I know a MSRP dealer that won’t put tag on because they can get fined from HD for advertising a price under MSRP and Harley has raised MSRP mid year then got after dealers for the advertised price being below MSRP…
Bottom line - if you don’t wash the acidic bug guts off your forks after every ride, it doesn’t matter if the forks are clearcoated bare, or clearcoated black. They are going to look like crap in short order. Kinda weird complaining about the forks pitting and in the next sentence say that you just ride the bike and don’t clean it.
I don’t clean it every ride but I do clean it. My understanding is these gloss black forks hold up better. Guess we will see

Here in uk I have taken both street and road glides out on demos first the road glide the audio did not work then on the run the engine management light came on on return to the dealer was told the system had frozen and needed an update the following week I took out the street and again the Audi on would not work either Bluetooth and also I brought a usb c wire with me bit again no audio. This all reminded me of the pan am I had with so many probs I offloaded after t months not enough time to list all problems in short I have quite a few Harley’s rain cams and m8 all have been reliable done over 100000 miles touring Europe but these new electrics are full of gremlins so best to wait until they address these unless you like having to constantly attend dealers which for me is 190 mile round trip prior to the revolution I would say Harley’s easily the most reliable bikes on the planet but these new electronics are spoiling this
I was told the audio issues were fixed in a recent update, you might also like to know that you can now update the bike yourself for these types of issues using a USB drive without having to go to the dealer. I have not done it, but I have spoke to someone who has.

Man, you got to get your priorities right and you're doing right. I can't believe how otherhard working YTubers with young families are buying the 2024s for the sake of 'keeping up with the Jones' after having spent so much on accessorising their previous ride - I do wonder the last time they took the family on a you-beaut holiday - perhaps to Europe (imagine what their kids are missing out on).
I think for some of the larger channels it as much a business decision as anything else and I respect that, when you’re full-time, it is your business to make content and the new 2024 are definitely something many people are interested in me. My parents never took me to Europe and I never took my kids and I don’t feel like I’m missing a thing, but I guess you don’t know what you don’t know.
@@RidingintheOzarksYes, I agree. I just used Europe as an example. My parents took me to Italy when I was 10 years old and it was amazing and I remember so much stuff 50+ years on. When my children were in their early teens they wanted to do a tour of Europe. We couldn't really afford it at the time but we went anyway as it was unlikely that we would have another opportunity. The experience is invaluable and both daughters have gone back as adults because the culture and history and sites are wonderful and interesting. Just saying.

The shop walls have foam board and plywood already for the walls but I might add more insulation to it over time. What do you recommend for the garage?
@@RidingintheOzarks Where I made My mistake, I loaded up my shop with all my equipment. It is very difficult to add insulation and electrical later because everything is in the way. Do your improvements now when it is easy to get to.

@@TheDans7300 everyone’s time has a different value to them, I value my time on the motorcycle more than my time without one, so I’ll give up time to work more in turn to have more time on a motorcycle, but that’s just me and what feeds my soul. But I do know plenty of people who ride and own Harley Davidson’s that are far from the classification of Rich.

I had to wait and close on my new house last month to get the new 2024 road glide too. Closed on the house and a week later I bought a new road glide blue burst and black trim.

@@RidingintheOzarks was a hard debate between the white and blue. Ultimately I went with the blue as it reminded me of my father’s bikes growing up. He had several blue bikes as it is his favorite color. Hope your house closing goes smoothly for you. Mine was a pain lots of hurdles but I made it through in the end and was able to close. Can’t wait to see ya on a new 24 model!
