Eralia, I love your true and unfettered emotion for Star Citizen. I now know I am in the company of others who share emotion over such fine gameplay! You rock!
This was the best Reachtions video of Squadron 42 I've seen so far. I left a subscription right away.. You are emotionally involved and feel it. Thank you for this reaction. We held the Line 07
Thanks for sharing your experience and your emotions. I was already hyped, but you've contributed to my enthusiasm for the game. Hope you have a great play when it comes out.
39:15 Back in 1990 Wing Commander 1 already made the pilot's performance impact the story arc. If you played poorly the campaign would reflect that and the story would change. For instance, a friendly ship would be taken out, you'd lose the battle and the remnants of your fleet would have to fall back. If your performance stayed poor your side would simply lose Earth at some point (game over). It was my first big experience of nonlinear game design in a Chris Roberts game, and that was 34 years ago... I would be very surprised if your contributions in this game would be meaningless. 47:41 TheAstroHistorian has some lovely videos on the lore and background of the SC universe, including the Vanduul.
Beginning: "ah ya know, we fallow the project loosely, not like I'm attached or anything." The End: "I have to get more merch, I have to find my flight sticks, I need to be ready for when Squadron 42 calls upon me to defend the empire! AAAAHHHHHHH!" Girl, same.
I was there in that room at Manchester UK when this was broadcast live. I loved the entire experience of the 2 day event. I've since watched a few of these UA-camr reaction videos of this S42 clip, and honestly your reaction really reflects how I felt when I was there watching it live. As a guy I was basically hiding my emotions but your emotions were like how I was truly feeling when watching it! As a SC backer since 2013, hope to one day see you in this verse... o7 and quite honestly you seem soo awesome.
I just came across your channel because this video got shown to me on the start page (because I'm roaming the youtube servers for every CitizenCon related reaction :D) and I subscribed immediately after your emotional reaction to general bishops speach! Love how much you're into star citizen, even if you haven't played in a while I can just recommend watching the CitizenCon stuff, it made me love the game and their vision even more! Greetings from germany
great reaction! that definitely put you through a rollercoaster of emotions! the dynamic and epic music that so strongly sets the feel and the horrors of death in a massive battle it all is quite an experience. definitely a good time to come back into it with 4.0 being live and sq42 coming. be sure to record your first time going through the stanton pyro jumpgate!
I was an early backer. I was there when all we had were hangars and a few ships... none of which could fly yet. Over the years I put together an LTI fleet with an LTI Polaris. I regret not one cent or one minute I've given this project. I like watching these reaction videos because I get to sick back and giggle that this game I helped to fund is probably going to end up the greatest game in history. Subbed. Wish I found this reaction and channel sooner. Elaria, let me know if you ever want to borrow a Polaris... ;)
I really loved your reaction to this video, and the positive remarks at the end. Those are so different from the constant complains, which you hear so often
That speech did remind me of my time on the USS Kitty Hawk during OEF and OIF. Had a few messed up nights that we got through. Now my daughter is in the Middle East on the USS Jason Dunham and hoping she and her shipmates look out for each other like I did with my crew. Enjoying your content sister.
Just found your page, and your passionate viewing of 4.0 reveal was amazing and everything you said about the game and its beauty despite its falts is something I very much agree with. New subscriber for sure!
Fun facts: some people may questioning about "sound in space" (as usual)!! So.. the sound you hear in cockpit of the gunners and pilots are having in-lore explanation!! It's said that the sensor of the ship picking up the presence of nearby objects, such as shrapnels, debris, meteors, and of course... vessels, both allies and enemies. Then simulated their sound into the pilots and gunners helmet!! They do this for a reason, because relying on your eyes to scan all the sensor's screens will make your brain get overwhelm, making decisioning in crucial moment become tougher!! So the computer will simulating the sounds of any thing nearby for pilots picking them up and even react to them "instinctively"!! Example: a pilot are focusing in a dog-fight with an enemy will have no spare time to look at the radar to see an enemy have creep up to his tail!! Instead, hearing the simulated sound by the system and the warning alarm will alert his brain immediately to making evasive action!!
The 'production reason': they tried a build without sound in the cockpit and discovered two things: 1) The game was much less exciting without sound, and 2) the QA testers actually had a harder time flying without some kind of auditory cue to tell them what was going on.
They've also talked about possibly making it into an actual component that, if damaged would be disabled and then you'd only hear the sounds inside your spaceship Alternatively also being able to turn the simulated sounds off as an option on your ship's MFDs
Good to see you again Boss! I remember reacting the same way when it was first played during CitCon. Hope all is well with you. Salutes from a Naval colleague across the globe.
All I can say is WELCOME BACK! I stumbled on your videos when you were last in SC and I enjoyed your journey. I may have to come find your Twitch if you start playing again. I'm an OG SC backer so I love the enthusiasm.
If you don't already know Lt. Commander Colton is played by Mark Hamill (aka Luke Skywalker). Mark Hamill was also a part of the Wing Commander series back in the 1990's. Chris Roberts was the creator of the Wing Commander series. Star Citizen is what Chris Roberts envisioned Wing Commander to evolve into.
I've seen this video so many times now, it's just wow! Looking forward to watching your reaction to it. But for now I have to get some sleep. I've tried playing a bit of 4.0 and it's hit or miss with the bugs/glitches. I'm sure after their holiday break we'll get some hot fixes for it. Even so though, it's so awesome seeing all the pieces slowly going together. We're still far off but it's still so good and fun to play now. I've spent more money this year buying ships than any other year in one shot. I really need to just stop lol.
Great to see your return with some SC content! I remember when you got the Phoenix that year lol. I have to say that Gillian Anderson (Cpt. MacLaren), Mark Strong, Gary Oldman and everyone else hit it out of the park. Gary Oldman's speech was just *chef's kiss*. I also really loved the music. I particularly loved the theme whenever Captain MacLaren's was onscreen. This video was perfect length as I was out chilling doing some salvaging while listening to your reaction, though it made me tear up which made finding panels a little difficult. XD
I first played Starlancer around year 2000, that's the kind of feelings I had the first time, never got it back 'till that gameplay reveal. So thanks Chris and Erin to bring it back, no one else could have.
Most of what you asked about was about the Vanduul so here are some lore-answers: - In general, not that much is known by humanity about the Vanduul since we never actually explored one of their star systems - Vanduuls are organized in Clans and don't have any overarching communication/government. Bigger clans have one Kingship at the center of their fleet - Vanduul attack most species and their philosophy is one of expansion and consumption. They expand and use technology from other species they have fought and won against themselves to get an advantage. That means, a lot of their technology might not even be invented by them - when it comes to technology, one that we actually have gotten from them is regeneration (the ability to give people a new body once they have died). After some time, the regeneration will work less and less until finally "your mind dies" and you can't be brought back anymore - Humanity has never seen a single female or child Vanduul since they never leave the home systems. Only adult males fight to expand and conquer - Vanduul are very aggressive and direct while fighting, both on-foot and in-flight The game will be 30-40h in length. It is a more linear game but you will be able to approach some missions in slightly different ways later on. Side missions MIGHT also happen, though even if they are, they won't be as prominent as in open world games. Also, as far as I know you won't join Squadron 42 (at least not directly after the Prologue). I obviously don't know more about the story so I can't say what will happen later in the game.
I was at the venue live watching in manchester. It was such an emotional and incredible adventure to experience. It felt like watching a movie in a theatre, so amazing. And meeting other wonderful star citizen people again, has been a blessing too.
Glad I found your channel, I'm just getting back into SC too after a few year hiatus since there wasn't much progress. There's still a long way to go, but with server meshing and other tech finally being implemented, the game can finally begin to take shape. The 4.0 preview is a mess as per usual haha but it's still awesome when it does work. Hope to catch you in the verse, happy holidays and thank you for your service.
So glad you're back in the verse and loved your reaction to the trailer, especially how you related it to your own experiences! I was at CitCon too and although there were crashes to desktop and a release date later than some wanted, it was amazing to see it all come together and I'm so happy for all the team at CIG. Looking forward to holding the line with you! 🫡
The Vanduul's target is resources!! Vanduul society is divided into many Clans, each Clan have it own Leader (Occuri)!! Their homeworld is unknown, since they are a full-on space-faring species. Raiding and attack random colonies of everyone they came across. Human and other Aliens alike! The Vanduuls are like a big bad Pirate-nation with many smaller Pirate crews constantly travelling and raiding for supplies and resources!! They attack whenever they need more resource to survive, that's why they're so resilient and desperate. Because their own survival is stake on that fight!! Despite being a barbaric Specie! The very head of the Vanduuls - the Occuri are not without senses!! They will stop harassing your planet if you offer him a good enough deal (that why in all of the known species in Star Citizen, Vanduul are mostly chill with the Banu. Because Banus are natural-born Traders, their offers ALWAYS interests their customers)!! Vanduul Occuris are also chivalric (not all, but most of them! It's depend on the tradition of each Clan). They don't go down without a fight, and honor the enemies who gave them a tough challenge!! The particular Occuri in this Gameplay Demo is an absolute Chad, willing to go down with his ship and take responsibility for his reckless action instead of running away!! There're also some Vanduul who are chill toward humans, these are stray Vanduuls. Most of them are remnant of a former Clan which have been destroyed, or just simply don't like their kins and see other Species way of life is better, so they deflect from Vanduul society and go live as Traders, Pirates, Mercenaries, Black-market Dealers, Intel Sellers and even apply to become body-guard for some other race's Clients like a free-lancer!!
I loved watching you on this emotional rollercoaster. As someone who has been around since 1.0 I can really feel the love CIG has poured into SQ42. See you out there eralia!
Believe me, I understand how you feel. As a veteran myself, who served in the Navy on not one, but two, aircraft carriers while I was in the service, this is yet another reason why Star Citizen means a lot to me. Yes, I played all of the earlier space games like the Wing Commander series, Starlancer, and Freelancer, which all led me to Star Citizen and become an early backer. I want Star Citizen, and Squadron 42, to become the great games that we all know they are. I am part of a great org that loves to play Star Citizen, and have met a lot of new friends (even though I may never see any of them in person) 👍
In LOVE for ERALIA my first video about her what I see, and I'm 100% with her, I also had these emotions about SQUADRON42❤️, I love that there was someone who felt exactly the same as me☺️you have my follow💜

wow I'm going to love it, I love this universe of the military space program style and in addition with this realism. WOW I wish they would sell the cosplay outfits on the site. It is true that the speech is very touching. participatory development is really the best way to develop a video game, and not just games. if all projects were developed in a participatory way, everything would be more qualitative.
Clicked on this video to take a break from watching people react to Arcane and crying... now you. 🤣😂🤣. Loved your reaction. I heard you say you dual stick, as do I, but have you considered pedals ? I use my g27 race wheel not only for foot controls, but the buttons on the shifter as well.
Just a note, incase others have not already mentioned it.. you WILL be able to fully customize your character in S42 later... the 'presets' are just to get you into the game for the 'tutorial/battle'.
To answer the question of what SQ42 is running: F8A Heavy Fighter, F7A Medium fighter, and Retaliator Torpedo Bombers. That F7A model is exclusive to SQ42, as the standard F7A/F7C Mk I is a single engine design.
The Vanduul are a nomadic Warrior Species living in Clans with a Chieftain. Each Clan has their own rules, laws, costums and so on. They attack or raid other Star systems firstly to gain resources, they have special harvesters that reap every bit of resources from a planet/system and leave them completely drained and worthless, hence their nomadic lifestyle. Second: to prove themselves. Victory in battle is one of the best ways to earn reputation within your Clan. I can only guess that this Clan attempted to claim Vega to gain honor and resources alike. In the Battle, their chieftain became to reckless and gave the Symbol of Leadership to his second, assuming that he would fall. Vanduul rather self destruct than to get captured or let their tech fall into the enemies Hands.
This game is soooo next level. I can't wait. Been a backer since 2013. There HAS been nothing like this graphically, atmospherically, audibly, game wise. Its cinematic, epic and we get to be a part of it.
Here's a list of some of the notable cast members and what they are known for: Mark Hamill - "Lt. Cdr. I would like to add Liam Cunningham in the recent Netfilx "Three Body Problem" is awesome. Ever since game of thrones, I always get a little excited to see him in anything. And Mark Strong is just plain awesome in everything he does, and CIG captured his acting perfectly.
The game has 5 languages, you heard that right, 1 real spoken language and 4 xeno linguistics. All genuinely spoken in game (they have their own grammars and rules of language) for instance the vanduul (evil aliens) language "Azzo yauwv Ssi San" (Systems Unresponsive) and "Zada'athqothon Miyn Naa" (Look at what your blood lust has cost us).
SITCON - I want to say, Situational Condition... likely a result of differences between how countries around the world term changes in the threat or situational awareness impact. The UEE as you can imagine does not belong to a single world country but rather the result of generations of traditions melting together. In US military terms, you might think of it like a DEFCON or Defense Condition. I served 5 years in the Marine Corpse (mother Army, dad Navy, and many more before them) before completing another fifteen in the Navy for my enlisted retirement so much of the Sq42 and Star Citizen development has been of interest to me for the memories they keep alive for me.
I can completely understand your reaction to this gameplay reveal. I'm an Army veteran. It's not something that everyone can relate to, but for those of us willing to sacrifice everything for others, well, this game speaks directly to our souls.

I had a blast re-watching it with you. Welcome back.
47:41 TheAstroHistorian has some lovely videos on the lore and background of the SC universe, including the Vanduul.
seeing your heartfelt reactions were so rewarding, I look forward to seeing you streaming ib the verse again, love your energy! :)
Beginning: "ah ya know, we fallow the project loosely, not like I'm attached or anything."
The End: "I have to get more merch, I have to find my flight sticks, I need to be ready for when Squadron 42 calls upon me to defend the empire! AAAAHHHHHHH!"
Girl, same.
"We don't have enemies, we make enemies, with ourselves" I've never heard a better sentence in my life. That is as true as it gets unfortunately.
That jabba the hutt mug is cool.. but no way i could ever drink out of it 😂
You are terrific. Thank you for your service. You made me tear up! I've watched this 3 or 4 times, but watching it with you was worth another.
I just came across your channel because this video got shown to me on the start page (because I'm roaming the youtube servers for every CitizenCon related reaction :D) and I subscribed immediately after your emotional reaction to general bishops speach!
Love how much you're into star citizen, even if you haven't played in a while
I can just recommend watching the CitizenCon stuff, it made me love the game and their vision even more!
Elaria, let me know if you ever want to borrow a Polaris... ;)
You cried, I cried, we all cried... So happy I got to watch your blind reaction to this.
I really loved your reaction to this video, and the positive remarks at the end. Those are so different from the constant complains, which you hear so often
Had no interest in SQ42 until I saw this. Absolutely blew my mind at the experience that could be created in a game. I'm pretty hyped now.
Just found your channel, you're cool, subbed. I pretty much had the same reaction the first time i saw this lol! The future looks bright!
Just found your page, and your passionate viewing of 4.0 reveal was amazing and everything you said about the game and its beauty despite its falts is something I very much agree with. New subscriber for sure!
Someone send this Reaction plz to the Devs i bet the would smile af
CR shared it on MS teams on the 26th... loves seeing his/CIG work create emotive experiences.
They've also talked about possibly making it into an actual component that, if damaged would be disabled and then you'd only hear the sounds inside your spaceship
Alternatively also being able to turn the simulated sounds off as an option on your ship's MFDs
Loved your reaction to this, you get it. Couldn't be more excited for Sq42. See you in the 'verse.
Awesome Eralia.. Awesome, even I almost dropped a tear..
Thats the reaction i need to see
I've seen this video so many times now, it's just wow!
You are amazing! Subbed! Loving your videos so far.
XD

Thank you for your service.
It's always a bonus when the commentator has some real world experience to bring to the table.
I first played Starlancer around year 2000, that's the kind of feelings I had the first time, never got it back 'till that gameplay reveal. So thanks Chris and Erin to bring it back, no one else could have.
Most of what you asked about was about the Vanduul so here are some lore-answers:
- In general, not that much is known by humanity about the Vanduul since we never actually explored one of their star systems
- Vanduuls are organized in Clans and don't have any overarching communication/government. Bigger clans have one Kingship at the center of their fleet
- Vanduul attack most species and their philosophy is one of expansion and consumption. They expand and use technology from other species they have fought and won against themselves to get an advantage. That means, a lot of their technology might not even be invented by them
- when it comes to technology, one that we actually have gotten from them is regeneration (the ability to give people a new body once they have died). After some time, the regeneration will work less and less until finally "your mind dies" and you can't be brought back anymore
- Humanity has never seen a single female or child Vanduul since they never leave the home systems. Only adult males fight to expand and conquer
- Vanduul are very aggressive and direct while fighting, both on-foot and in-flight
The game will be 30-40h in length.
Nice to see you playing Squadron 42 and I wish you a happy holidays
Merry Christmas Eralia.☃️🧑🎄🎄
I was at the venue live watching in manchester. It was such an emotional and incredible adventure to experience. It felt like watching a movie in a theatre, so amazing. And meeting other wonderful star citizen people again, has been a blessing too.
Glad I found your channel, I'm just getting back into SC too after a few year hiatus since there wasn't much progress. There's still a long way to go, but with server meshing and other tech finally being implemented, the game can finally begin to take shape. The 4.0 preview is a mess as per usual haha but it's still awesome when it does work. Hope to catch you in the verse, happy holidays and thank you for your service.
what a genuine reaction!
I was one of the original nerds who bought one of the first packages including SQ42 back when this was still in kick starter in 2012. God I'm old.
Bishop's speech goes hard
This was an awesome reaction! Thanks for recording it 😊
The Vanduul's target is resources!!
Damn you even made me tear up!
Absolutely the best reaction of this game play and trust me when I’ve said I’ve watch them all, some more than once. 🎉
welcome back into the rabbit hole of SC and SQ42, you have a lot waiting for you in the verse.
In LOVE for ERALIA my first video about her what I see, and I'm 100% with her, I also had these emotions about SQUADRON42❤️, I love that there was someone who felt exactly the same as me☺️you have my follow💜

I was in the live audience at citcon this year when this was on and believe me, I cried just as much as you, and so did many others. This whole thing turned many adult men there back into little boys :D
loved the react! new to the channel, thanks for your service! if you do more reacts like this, might suggest increasing the video your watching's volume, was a bit quiet. great react and welcome back to the 'verse!! :D
I've been playing SC since 2017. My son Gabe is going into Air Force from Embry-Riddle AFROTC. I hope you get to meet him one day and I loved your reaction :-)
As a dutchman, I must commend you on your red bull hoodie!
wow I'm going to love it, I love this universe of the military space program style and in addition with this realism.
Good to see you home and happy 😊

"The answer to life, the universe and everything" [Ask a search engine for find this text, you will find it.]
Definately earned my sub. Love seeing the shared love for this project expressed so strongly. Come see the Polaris in the PU!
Just a note, incase others have not already mentioned it.. you WILL be able to fully customize your character in S42 later... the 'presets' are just to get you into the game for the 'tutorial/battle'.
Wow. You are quickly becoming my favorite Star Citizen content creator.
OG backer with my first item bought >>>Weekend Warrior - LTI Attributed Created: October 28, 2013Contains: F7C-M Super Hornet Mk I and 11 items
Thank you for your service eralia!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸
To answer the question of what SQ42 is running: F8A Heavy Fighter, F7A Medium fighter, and Retaliator Torpedo Bombers. That F7A model is exclusive to SQ42, as the standard F7A/F7C Mk I is a single engine design.
What a rollercoaster of emotion and goosebumps. but i fell you and from one citizen to another o7
Hiiiiiiiii!!!! welcomeee backkk
Nothing but respect for you and the Game.
It's so sad. Thank you for your service 🙏
I am Very very sorry i have not seen you until now.iI Have the most respect for anyone in the "service" any country
WELCOME BACK :)
Welcome back to the verse! I hope you get to play 4.0 and enjoy it a ton :) I've been having a lot of fun with it, despite bugs in the update.
I got emotional too, nice Jabba the Cup by the way xD
"We don't have enemies, we just make enemies, with ourselves."
This game is soooo next level. I can't wait. Been a backer since 2013. There HAS been nothing like this graphically, atmospherically, audibly, game wise. Its cinematic, epic and we get to be a part of it.
Your emotions for us Navy Fleet riders is appreciated.

Ever since game of thrones, I always get a little excited to see him in anything.
And Mark Strong is just plain awesome in everything he does, and CIG captured his acting perfectly.
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who cried, thank you for this video 🙏
So glad to see I wasn't the only one to tear my eyes out! Each time I watch it lol o7
I like how they used nomad's voice from the crysis games haha.
Where?
@@AdityaWaghmare around 1:18:30 i think the voice actor is the ships ai.
44:17 *snort-laugh* You said "What the...!?!" at exactly the same time I did when that stupid ad popped up.
Thanks for the raw reaction. There is a big space in my heart next to Witcher and Cyberpunk that I'm ready for SQ42 to fill.
I'M GOING TO HAVE TO PLAY THIS GAME
Great reaction to an amazing game, Chris knows what he's doing.. You can be my wing girl any day Eralia....
I can completely understand your reaction to this gameplay reveal. I'm an Army veteran. It's not something that everyone can relate to, but for those of us willing to sacrifice everything for others, well, this game speaks directly to our souls.
They put the effort into Squadron 42, what was left over, THAT was put into Star Citizen. The priority has ALWAYS been Squadron, the secondary has ALWAYS been Star Citizen.
most epic gameplay video ever, got everything a sci-fi space nerd could ever dream of. 😍
It’s the black dude from snowfall. He’s a good actor. I hope he has a good role in this.
