From his perspective. The club had loaned him out year after year after year. What was it 4 years? He finally has a breakout season in Sociedad and has a two year loan agreed. Zidane calls him and convinces him to cut that deal short and come back. And he got what was that famous stat? He got zero minutes in 10 matches leading into the transfer window. That doesnt sound like he doesnt want to fight for his place that seems like he was completely lied to and deceived by Zidane who was always always going to favour the CMK and never prioritize Odegaard getting minutes to aid his development. The club did EXACTLY the same thing with Mariano Diaz. He was showing promise at Lyon. He was brought back and never used until the point this guy basically gave up on his football career. I think the Odegaard narrative in the press (specifically Spanish press) has been so one sided and I didnt expect that from you. I always felt this was a line that Real Madrid were filtering through their media friends to soften the perception of the Odegaard sale among Madridistas.
In retrospect it WAS the right move. Odegaard became Arsenal captain, they are top of the league. Modric and Kroos are still playing so he would have still not been a starter for us. And we got Camavinga who doesn't NEED to be starting right now and IS getting good minutes.

@@rmanjas4609 also i think people don't realise how much the new Napoli system is helping the players shine for example kvara is good but he averages less end product than Rodrygo for example.
We're very fortunate that Vini has been as good as he has been.
Even with struggles he's gotten production.
