      Honestly I'm an adult and personally I wouldn't be able to make a speech in front of more than 3 people, even if it would be a very familiar group, Mob is a goat ❤

    At episodes 10-12 screening they explained that it was one of the producers who suggested that they use the original OP there, and Yuzuru Tachikawa (chief director) liked it! They also tried matching Reigen's sequence to the lyrics/beat as much as they could :")
    One-sensei talked about how he always planned on finishing the series with Mob's smile, and he was surprised by how naturally it came to him when he actually drew it; at the same time Mob's seiyuu, Secchan, said he had some trouble recording his laughter as it's not his strongest suit, and Ritsu's seiyuu, Irino-san, stayed behind in the booth with him to help and give pointers!

    one of the things I really love about Reigen's run is that he's going against his philosophy of "it's okay to run away when things go south"

    • @en4833
      @en4833 7 місяців тому +10

      Not really. That advice was aimed at Mob. A kid shouldn't have to worry about being in life or death situations. A kid shouldn't have to make the choice to hurt someone to protect his friends. A kid should be able to run away in risky situations and let an adult handle it. Reigen's run was just an extension of that philosphy. It was Reigen's responsibility as an adult and as his friend to help Mob.

    Dimple is a spirit that needs to be exorcised in order to disappear completely. The companions he made who still look for him and have faith that he would return has helped materialize him back, the similar way that Pyscho Helmet became sentient. This is also apparent in LOL episode that as long as people have faith in Dimple, he’ll continue to persist returning. Mob longing for Dimple after the events of the Divine Tree was enough to help bring him back.

    • @AuspexAO
      @AuspexAO Рік тому +12

      Plus honestly, Dimple has been "killed" by three of the most powerful psychics of all time: Mogami, Mob, and Suzuki. He was also "exorcised" by Teru. I think him showing back up is totally in character.

    Not Ben making me snot cry in the first 5 minutes. I have MDD, BPD, and Anxiety disorder and I very recently attempted to unalive myself with opioid overdose (around 2 weeks ago) and words coming from a kindred spirit like you means so much to me because those people we care about but don’t know what it’s really like to have psychosocial disorders can only go so far as to understand us on a surface level and sometimes it’s really hard to explain what you’re going through with someone who doesn’t have a full grasp of what it’s like. Mob Psycho 100 means the world to me too because it explores the mind of people like us and how affects us and those around us. Thank you for the heartfelt message, Ben. 🧡

      Damn man, I hope you'll never consider doing it again ;_; I'm over these thoughts but when I used to have them untill 2017, I always tried to convince myself that it's worth to stay here just for the sake of discovering some amazing anime, or a movie, or a book... I'm glad that I keep existing so I can always find something new and entertaining in life, and possibly helping me live better.

    Thank you for sharing Ben, I know that a random person on the internet saying that but it takes a lot of courage to let yourself be vulnerable like this. I'm sure you went through a lot of hardship due to BPD, and I know that most people won't understand what you have gone through and what you will go through. Many people may belittle your problems or simply downplay them. I'm sure that you have heard it many times before and you don't need to hear it, but you are a person worthy of love and respect and no disorder can change that. It is a part of you that I'm sure you would be happier without, but it will still be a part of you, a part that is and will be accepted by those close to you and I'm sure everyone you consider close loves you with or without it. Your life is your own.
    This is probably really dumb, I'm writing it at 5 am when I can't sleep due to my insomnia but I hope I don't come off weird. My previous girlfriend had BPD, and I've seen firsthand it's effects on her and those around her. It was hard for her, it was hard for me, it was hard for those around us, but we pushed through. And even tho I might have mixed feelings about her after the breakup I know that I, as well as her friends and family, loved and accepted her for who she is. People around might not always understand, but they will be there for you when things get rough. I hope you know that and I wish you all the best.
    With regards, a uni student that doesn't have money to pay for your Patreon. (Love you too Anna and I wish you both the best

    This show is a modern classic. The ending is one of the best endings I've ever seen in all of anime. Everything just felt perfect down to the very last detail. I personally couldn't ask for anything more. I've seen a lot of other shows mess up their ending but mob excelled in everything. Great show to end off the year man.

      ONE is a fantastic writer and his versatility as one is out of this world. He does great parodying many clichés in anime with One Punch Man. Which is the story that initially got his work out there .
      While at the same time adding serious elements that build tension, suspense, fear, excitement, and many more. He is also clearly more than capable of building an in-depth story with various life lessons and balancing dialogue with action.
      Mob Psycho 100 is proof of this. He meant for this story to be one of his most elaborate works. One that would have a long-lasting effect on viewers and readers. Looks to me like he achieved just what he wanted with this beautifully made story.
      Props to the entire team at Bone Studios, without them bringing this story to life would have been impossible. They did a terrific job with the entire anime.

    What Ben said was beautiful. This show speaks to me on so many levels too, and I think it actually speaks to most people. I don't have Bipolar, and not everyone can necessarily relate to having some alternate version of yourself, or having some kind of disorder that changes who you are and how you feel periodically, but I think everyone can relate to having a part of themselves, a part of their identity that they don't like, or are unhappy with in some way, and that's how this show speaks to me. For a while now, I have been grappling with ADHD, Autism spectrum disorder, as well as some other issues I'm not entirely comfortable sharing in a comment section online, and what this show has taught me is that despite what I may think of these things now, they're a part of me, and always will be, but that doesn't mean things will stay like this forever. That fact that I'm on the spectrum will never change, but how I feel about that will. I can change my perception of myself, and learn to be comfortable excepting who I am. And that's what this show did for me.

    I think it's reasonable to think that Dimple was brought back to life by ???% (or maybe just Mob, somehow) with the mere purpose of helping Reigen get through the tornado and tell Mob what he wanted to say. There is kind of an underlying layer about ???% that is slightly more explicit in the manga, that shows that he doesn't actually wants to hurt those who accept both sides of mob, his "fake" persona and his psychic side as well, he wants to confess to tsubomi for this exact reason. In the manga ???% has some dialogue referring to Ritsu acknowledging his existence as just "another part of his brother", which makes him happy, that's why after being thrown away by the tornado he remains intact. I think that dimple was from the very start a character that was very transparent about wanting Mob to grow out of his comfort zone, recognizing his powers as something that he shouldn't fear to use when necessary even though he fears them so much, maybe ???% remembers what dimple did for him when fighting against the broccoli as well since his subconscious was very well aware that dimple sacrificed himself for his safety while not fully remembering the events.
    On the other side, I just want to say that I've been enjoying rewatching this series with you guys, I appreciate that you both try to appreciate and undesterstand the messages of this anime, since One likes to show callbacks and is rarely over-explanatory when it actually matters for the characters.
    Sorry if there's any mistake with my english, its not my first language.

    Wow it was really brave to be vulnerable and talk about yourself like that! Mob Psycho has helped me a lot, too. I connect Mobs powers with my autism and intense anxiety, it’s also something I’m learning to accept about myself. It’s so wonderful how many different people can connect to a show in different ways! And I was always excited to see your reactions!
    Thanks for the heart you’ve put into these videos, here’s hoping they animate the Reigen manga :)

  • @wish-pieces
    @wish-pieces 2 роки тому +40

    During the end times of the manga, the chapters were like small breadcrumbs and they came out once every two weeks. At the rate they were coming out, dimple was gone for about half a year. I was hoping that was it for him after broccoli because I felt like bringing him back would almost feel like it lessens the emotional impact of his sacrifice. But the way that they did it...idk. I honestly don't feel like I can complain about it because he came back with a purpose, which was to help Reigen confess in this important moment. And I feel like they didn't disrespect his sacrifice at all. If nothing else, the way it was handled furthered the emotional impact of it for me. He meant so much to Mob and Mob wanted to see him again so badly that Mobs intense feelings brought him back...similarly to how the dragger was brought to life in the urban legends episode. In the context of the show it makes sense but I just, idk. Other shows have disappointed me usually when bringing dead characters back but I feel like they handled it really well. This is how I feel after I've had 5 years to process my feelings on his death.

And I was prepared to do the same watching it again with you guys, especially with Ben's earlier comments about why he connects so much to Mob. I had no idea you would lay out your thought and emotions like that at the start and you have my respect for that. (From memory) ONE said that he always knew the series would end with Shigeo laughing. I think it’s genuinely the best ending possible for this show and I’m so happy all of the characters are doing well.
    I really enjoyed seeing you guys react to this show. You two were definitely my favourite reactors that I watched because of the way you bounce off of each other and are clearly enamoured with the series. Thanks for sharing this with us :)
    Also, I recommend reading the manga. I adore both versions of this story because they handle it differently at moments and it’s really cool to see he differences.
    There’s also a single-volume Reigen spin-off that’s basically “the S&S crew’s shenanigans” which I’m really hoping is adapted into an OVA. Deffo recommend reading that too.

    Ben's message at the begging had me tearing up im very glad you were able to identify with my show and found the courage to tell others about your struggle and how the show helped you grow! Mob psycho also helped me grow as a person but in a different way, more so quelling my crippling anxieties about the future and becoming someone great and special and teaching me that I could be whoever I wanted, and that it was okay to not be someone hugely famous or rich. As long as I was happy with my life then that's the best outcome I could've hoped for, and that it means I've already achieved success! Rewatching the series with you guys had helped me figure this out, as my first time watching it I really did not like the first season intro song or the overall messages the anime portrayed as it struck right at the core of my insecurities. I thought it was a great story and great messages to tell OTHERS, not for myself. But rewatching it has helped me cement the idea that everyones lives are their own, and if everyone is not special then I can be who I want to be! Your reaction and reviews of this show was very thought provoking and enjoyable to watch and I look forward to watching any other series you react to in the future! Merry Christmas and Happy early New Years! 😊🥰

    In the manga, it is hinted that Mob was the one who stopped the cake from falling. We saw him not use his power during the cat scene, it would make sense mob used his power at the very end as a way to show he accepted his power.

    I don't know if this was mentioned to you guys before but the creator of Mob Psycho said that from the beginning, he wanted to make a story "that was kind." I think he accomplished that and more. There were many instances where Mob Psycho could have gone down a dark road but it feels like he is making a statement by always picking the kinder route.

    Dimple came back because Mob loved him so much. Spirits can be manifested and powered up by the thoughts of others. Luckily Mob is so powerful that simply the act of him always hoping Dimple would come back to him preserved the ghost fart's existence. ONE seemed to have been trying to emphasize the power of Mob's kindness and how it's benefitted everyone he's built relationships with. In Dimple's case, Mob's kindness was similar to that of a fairy tale miracle; and his power so great that it could sustain Dimple's existence simply by him yearning for it so badly. At the end of the day, Mob Psycho 100 is a story about love and kindness, and how the small steps forward we take to practice this hold the power to change ourselves and others for the better. I assume that's why ultimately the decision was made to bring Dimple back in the climax. While i would have preferred him to stay dead, what was done with his revival greatly emphasizes why Mob (the character) is such a great kid as well as the general themes of the story so far; and since his revival mostly follows the established rules of the series, I had an easier time accepting the narrative decision despite my preferred take

    Loved watching your reactions to Mob Psycho 100 and the honesty you both brought to your reactions. I love this Anime so much and its one of my top favourites of all time. I'm not much of a dub person but the English dub in this anime is so good. Sad for this to be over, but I'm happy with how it ended.

    I finally have a free time to binge watch the whole S3 and then watch your reaction. I can think of one significant reason for the return of dimple. Although, it can be just because the author want to end it with a great happy note. there is one important reason of Dimple return which is his words that Shigeo can trust. We have establish that Shigeo trust Dimple 100% in episode 6, Dimple's words are important to Shigeo, to even give a chances to listen to Reigen. Alt-Shigeo is dead set on not listening to Reigen cause to him, out of all people in his life, Reigen act the most superficial to Alt-Shigeo. why should he listen to someone like that in his life. however, Dimple suggestion allow him to be a bit open minded. Dimple is the only friend that Shigeo can trust and knows the extend of his ability, dimple also has the experience of having that emissive ability. Basically, Dimple is the only thing that close enough to Shigeo that will make alt-Shigeo even consider listening to Reigen because Shigeo knows he can trust and understand that Dimple are just trying to help.

    Mob Psycho is just as good as the manga, so go check it out!
    It's a bit regrettable that some scenes were left out in the anime due to time constraints, but it was the best adaptation ever.

    Personal opinion, I adore this show like most and I can only think of one anime with a comparable ending, FMAB. Anybody agree?

    • @JeusAlprime108
      @JeusAlprime108 2 роки тому

      Agreed, Mob Psycho 100 and FMAB did have a satisfying decent Happy Ending that outranked many HE shows out there. (Demon Slayer and AoT have to be excluded because too many characters have to died to reach their ending, so I can't categorised them in the HE category.)

    Was waiting for this, as mentioned before was a manga reader long before the anime so when you mentioned your initial feelings of dimple being gone and not coming back I was biting my lip unsure how that would go over- glad the answer is well.
    Mob might be done- but there is still a possible Reigen OVA that could be made off his mini spinoff with Tome.

    if you guys dig more mob content, you could check out the season 2 ova and (maybe if an anime adaption wont happened) the Reigen spin-off manga.
    there is also the season 1 ova, which plays more of a recap of the first season with a Reigen twist in it, if you enjoyed the series you would definitely had some fun to this too.

    Tsubomi is also pretty honest. She used the word "yet" in her rejection. I don't think she is sparring his feelings at all. I think she is letting him decide if he will stick around and be her friend. Maybe once they both know each other more, that kind of thing is in their future. Or maybe not. The important thing about their encounter is that the girl he cared about also cared about him quite a bit. Mob forms so many bonds with so many people. The bond he forms with her is probably one that he treasures quite a bit. A middle schooler probably should live life more anyway.

    The OP song for the first season that played while Reigen was running was titled "99". Reigen could not catch up with Mob because they were missing the remaining 1, and that 1 was Dimple. It is believed that they were able to face Mob on an equal footing because they were the perfect friend of Mob.
    Dimple is a ghost, so it will disappear when the reason for its existence ceases to exist. Also, a monstrosity does not disappear as long as there are people who believe in it.Dimple was able to return without disappearing because Mob wished it to exist. I believe that Dimple, the evil spirit who wished to become a god before, did indeed die at that time and was reborn anew as a friend of Mob. (Though he is a spirit, so he was originally and still is dead.)
    I am a Japanese who loves Mob Psycho 100. I am very happy that you guys like this work. Thank you.
