LOL. My 2 sons are 27 and 28. I still say "Hi baby!" every time I see them for the first time in the day. They will never be too old for me to not worry about them.
I know you probably have already heard this but never take your father for granted. How cool is it 3 generations working together….I’ve always been envious of having a father relationship. Never had a dad or really a mom for that matter but my grandfather was as close as I got but he is gone now. Im grown and live a pretty great life, I’m a successful contractor and I would like to think I have a good head on my shoulders. Married and now I have a little one of my own and I’m striving to make sure she will have what I didn’t growing up 👍🏻
Hey CK. I do cherish what I have with my father indeed. I have a great relationship with him and my mother. I am very blessed. What is amazing about your comment is the fact that you didnt have that growing up but through it all you have still turned out a positive and now you get the chance to be the light you seeked for your daughter. I truly appreciate your comment and I am happy that you have a good head on your shoulders and im sure your daughter is beyond blessed to have you as a father!
It’s great to see 3 generations all out working and having fun together. There’s nothing better than family! And I do the same thing with our wood stove. It’s the best boot, clothes, and glove dryer in the house!
Oh yes! I was fascinated with how quickly they dried hanging on the ladder lol im blessed to be able to work with my pops and hopefully get my boys involved in the future!
It’s crazy what a good coal bed will do for you. Nice and hot and you can pretty much bake any green wood to the point it becomes kiln dried and burns like seasoned wood. Makes a nice vapor cloud. I do this a little in my gasser as well. Keep it up bud!
That's pretty much what we ended up doing all last winter. We didn't get enough wood cut in the spring/summer 21 to get through that whole winter. My husband was cutting not-quite-seasoned-enough logs every couple weeks and I was splitting/stacking them, and I have to say I was pissed having to do that in single-digit and below-0 temps. Spring/summer 22 went a lot different, cutting/splitting enough wood was #1 priority. My husband got some pallets and started a wood pile behind the wood shed. I'd say we got about 10 cord total. He ended up cutting up almost all the logs we had sitting by, which were all seasoned by that point. So, all our wood this winter was properly seasoned, and we've only gone through half the wood shed. The difference is amazing. I don't think we're going to end needing the whole 10 cord, but at least it's already seasoned, stacked, and ready for next winter. God Bless! :)
Its an AMAZING feeling to be ahead of the curve with wood usage! I spent a lot of time doing the garden and wood stove selling wood I am not as far ahead as id like but we are working on it! God Bless!
Hey Jay, also have the 6048, that wood is probably not that bad for greenness I burn worse, but if you wanna burn really big green wood. Do an "axle grease chap stick treatment " to the damper door. That will stop the cresil sticking the damper door and popping the fuse. I burn whole stumps like that no splitting, best done when cold out tho. The longer it stays damped down the more wet chresil drips on the door. cheers sal Oakville Ontario Canada
My neighbor down the road is burning ONLY green and huge piece of wood... taken from the pile buried in the snow. He does have the exact same boiler I have and he does not seem to have any issue! I am currently burning green stumps from my weekend logging. Most of them are ash and it does not seen to have much sap left in it during winter. Anyways, as you suggest, I do fill first with seasoned wood on top of coals, so the green wood dries first. Thanks!
I've definitely burned my fair share of junk punky wood in my day. It's better then nothing.....and still has BTU'S in it. The benefit of it is I don't think there's a ton of moisture in it like true green wood does. Stay safe my friend
Around my boiler,if it fits it burns, green or not. I think after a few heat cycles the majority of the water is steamed out of the wood and you're good to go. If you're really worried about it just mix in some good stuff like Jay said.
@@HomesteadJay I've got an idea for a video comparison between you and I. Something that's never been done or talked about before in regards to these boilers. How do I get ahold of you direct?

Wood is wood, you don't care about creosote, so wet firewood is ok for you. I tried to heat my stove in the house with wet firewood once. I tired to clean my chimney every month!

Very true! Thats how I approach it. Good wood on bottom and worse off on top!
We are looking at putting in a outdoor boiler. The more I watch you videos the more I think I should put in a classic!!
I have a 6048 heating a 2500 Sq ft house and a 3 stall garage. 7 years old and no problems. You can’t go wrong with a Central Boiler!
@@buckbrown6328 I’m for sure in on the Central Boiler. Love watching the videos
I cant speak of the new ones but I know the classics may use more wood but they are so basic compared to new models!

Its awesome to see a family working together! Also a clothes line above the woodstove works great for drying gloves
I think thats the plan!
Great use for the punky wood! I use it as well, not good for selling but when dried out works well to get a fire started in a wood stove.
Right on!

Indeed my friend you are correct as far as burning green wood! I like the idea of greasing the damper now thats cool concept! Makes sense!
hi there well done clean up wood . john
Yes indeed thanks John!

Indeed my friend! Thanks for tuning in as always!
That’s why I love non-gasser boilers
They eat it all!
I really dont want a new wood boiler in my current condition. I am not sold on the gasification units.
Good stuff my friend
Thank you kindly
i have some punky firewood drying out on the porch, i hope it will burn nicely when its dry in 2 years
Im sure it will my friend!
Our new 560hdx won't burn the rotten wood good at all. I managed to get some punky woof burned but as you said you need the dry stuff on bottom
Yes thats something im afraid of. I like the ability to burn almost anything in any shape. Yeah I may use more but im ok with that.
Wise words Jay! Sad that the new stoves don't accept punky wood. Also a pain in the butt with all these regulations in Germany.
Greetings
His stove is not a new style
Yes indeed it nice to have a classic model!
I know, I was taking about mine. In Germany you have to have nnew stoves and all that.
Maybe bild a drying rack for your gloves above the stove. Always dry gloves 👍
someone said string a thin metal cable with metal clips! I think ill try that!
I like your new video this was nice fire you have going God bless too you guys love your video buddy 🔥
Thanks so much

Exactly! Mix in the best wood you have and stack the worse stuff on top and should be good!

All I burn is green wood?
i burn what i can burn, i try to burn the dry last summers wood still not ready to burn but im burning it.
I try to burn the most dry as well but isnt always the case!

My CB 5036 would have ran more than 24 hours on that much wood, punky, green or dry. I love having the boiler to heat my house with.
Right on! As do I indeed!
My wheelbarrow looks just like yours only it’s green ! Been through the wars 😂
This one is about retired lol

Hahaha spelling is overrated brother!

Thanks for always tuning in brother!
I wish I had a conventional so I could utilize this trick. I have a gasification unit and wet wood is a no go lol

Wood is wood, you don't care about creosote, so wet firewood is ok for you. I tried to heat my stove in the house with wet firewood once. I tired to clean my chimney every month!
Yes wet wood in a wood stove is tough but easier in a wood boiler!
I wanna trade my E Classic 2400 for a 6048
I love my classic!
Your sons name is same as mine my name is COLTON also.
Awesome stuff Colton!
I agree with you
You sure use a lot of wood in that boiler. Im heating 15,000 SQ feet and I fill mine max cold temps every 24 hours... Most of the time every other day
These units use a lot of wood if you stuff it but we had a snow storm coming so I wanted this gone out of the way but it burned well!
When i burn green wood. the smaller the wood the better.
Indeed. That’s what I am saying. Smaller green wood on the bottom for sure
Yeah I burn way worse stuff than that all the time. Take care
It burns eventually LOL
