Excellent video, do i need to learn more about how it routed the payments to you or the status of the network, or is the network large enough already that its trivial to get routes completed?
Great video Ben. You mentioned you have a different video explaining how to connect Breez to your own node. I can't find it, and am wondering if you would provide a link. Thanks.
Blue has a few differences by default when it comes to lightning: -it is custodial (you aren't holding your own coins when you use the lighting wallet - but you DO hold your own coins when using regular Bitcoin) -swapping from regular BTC to lightning is not as seamless -if you choose to go the non-custodial route, you need to connect to your own lightning node and run your own lightning channels, which is quite a bit more complicated
So, if I understand correctly, lightening and traditional btc transactions are not compatible? For instance, let's say I have a lightening wallet - let's say this Breez one - and I am engaging in a transaction where I am sent a traditional btc wallet address (NOT an invoice), I cannot send to this wallet via a lightening transaction? Is that understanding correct?
Nice demo Ben, you very well explained how things work in Breeze! Will checkout that wallet app. Conversion with boltz service fee from Lightning to onchain bitcoin is a bit laughable (50k lightning sats to 11,2k onchain sats, that is a bit ridiculous, lol ). Anyway, nice that you demo'ed this feature! Unless I misheard it in my semi-conscious state, on the TFTC podcast shoutouts Marty and Matt mentioned you just had a baby? if that's correct, CONGRATS man!
Thanks man! Agree the fees are a tad much in the onboarding process - it would be good if you had more control over this. I guess it's the cost of automation until there is more competition. And thanks for the congratulations. Myself and the Mrs are very excited!
Where are you sending from? Take a look at my video explaining Bitcoin fees - it will give you a good idea of how to ensure you don't spend too much. That fee sounds very excessive.
I know your demo there was for Breez, but I think I like the blue one better, the fee was outrageous transacting between main chain and lightning. Kind of like the idea of having them separated out like the blue and controlling the fees a lot more.
Blue is definitely more streamlined. The reason for this is when you use Lightning on Blue (on their default settings) they are actually holding any LN Bitcoin funds for you. It is custodial. If you go into settings you can connect to your own lightning node in Blue, but most use the custodial option. Definitely a tradeoff for now. I think in the future we'll not distinguish between on-chain and lightning wallets. It will just be a Bitcoin wallet, and the most efficient route will be dealt with in the background outside of the user's view.
@@BTCSessions yeah I bet we'll get to the seamless wallets someday soon. I actually don't mind the blue wallet lightning being custodial. I think of Bitcoin and lightning kind of like checking and savings I only keep enough in my checking account to use and keep the bulk of it on the Bitcoin side where it's non-custodial and safe.
@@Crazypostman yeah I don't mind it either TBH. I only ever keep $50 or $100 in a single lightning wallet, so if there was a rug pull the damage would be minimal.
This video reminds me of homeshopping. A lot of advertisements and in between comes the product which is also an advertisement and most of the time most stuff is rubbish.
"Since Breez is still in beta, there is a change your money will be lost. Use this app only if you are willing to take this risk." Got this message after downloading the android version... Can you recommend another lightning wallet that is secure and tested?

For accepting an invoiced payment, Breez should make you drag a symbol instead of pressing a button just incase you accidentally hit accept.
Many many many thanks
Thanks Ben, very clear to follow as always.
Did Breeze wallet eliminate the network priority fee setting? I can't figure out how to change it. There doesn't seem to be a setting for it.

I've heard this intro only once before and I swear after hearing it this second time it's stuck in my head haha

Why does when I try to send to a BTC address it says I will be able to send funds to a BTC address once all channels are confirmed
Did you get to know how to solve this??
Nice demo! So.. Blue Wallet does everything Breez does except POS? Btw protip: doubletap android app button to flip between apps.

Could you send it to a BTC address??
@@Capirotinho Yes, I was able to via the app.
Super informative thank you

excellent demonstration and explanations
Skip to 4:30 redicules 4 and a half minutes of nothing. It’s a very good video though, please watch.
It says it's $24 in fee's to send to the breeze lighting wallet! I only want to send $5 is something broken?
Where are you sending from?

Lightning taking charge as fuck,, wallet of santohi carge 8000 sats while tranfer 15000 sat
Lightning is genius
Have you try the Muun lightning wallet? Can you please give your thoughts about it or make a demo. Thanks 🙏🏽 in advance.

Great content you are creating, congrats
thanks for this information....did i miss how to buy bitcoin from this app? also, no big deal but the work additional features is misspelled.
Spelled "Additoinal Features" wrong.
Crap! Thanks for the heads up

If you pay $10/month for UA-cam Red, you don't see any ads.
Cool! We love this app!
You only got < 15,000 of 50,000 sats sent? I don't get why you said that looked good to you? It's a 70% fee?
cool
