If 22 is substantially better than 20, maybe they should keep adopting this strategy and release new ones every OTHER year. More time for development and quality control, as well as making it easier on consumers wallets, too.
Same, plus while it has flaws, I still had some fun with Battlegrounds and would love to see a more developed version of it.

@@cooldinom the fighters ( ufc's last game) moved like they had rigor mortis, the graphics were outdated, they went a step back from the previous game graphics wise and the control scheme still sucked.
The WWE demands a yearly release. They're as much to blame as anyone.
There’s an alternate timeline that exists where 2K releases one game every few years and updates rosters, gimmicks, songs, etc every month or so and I want to live in it

If 2k20 wasn't buggy, it would be a lot better. But the MyCareer mode was terrible, especially the story for it, and the showcase was just boring to play. Not only that, 2k Originals was just awful.
I think it would still be boring even without the bugs and glitches, it has no replay value like the THQ games.

@@DeadmanLps the 2k16 Career mode was incredible. They should do something similar to that. Hell, do something like TelTale did with The Walking Dead and have a certain story choice determine the end of your career

Matt Hardy wasn't released by WWE he choose to not resign with WWE after his contract expired. He left at the beginning of March before the pandemic

Still couldn’t believe this game came out. I remember all the initial backlash in 2019 very fondly, including your review and your videos on it. They were the best. Let’s hope 2K22 doesn’t suffer the same fate.
Or consumers can stop throwing money at them for broken games that are bare to the bones.
The thing that always bother me is when you play the next WWE game, they always have their old entrance theme, wrestling gear, look and style and some wrestlers already left the company. And the worst of them all is when you have two of the same wrestler taking up a slot like current Rock and 97 Rock, etc. Just add one Rock and add the 97 Rock as an attire on current Rock. Dont get me started with the legends they choose to add that no one bothers picking. Waste of a slot.🙄
They aren’t waisting spots, NXT stars decline because they don’t get enough money.
And for legends, it’s a WWE game and the 2K series has the largest rosters. Why would they not have people from every era?
Just because you might not want to play as someone like Andre the Giant or Brutus the Barber over people like Shawn Michaels , doesn’t mean they’re taking up slots.
There good for people who want dream matches, recreate old matches, use them as mangers, etc

@@isaiahlucero1525 That’s not what it said. NXT stars don’t have guaranteed places like main roster stars so they make deals. Don’t know why people like Aaliyah never make it, but they mostly try to get the key players on NXT.
Not being able to make a motion capture isn’t what happened and if you think about it sounds dumb. If they couldn’t get him for the motion capture, they would’ve just used his model from previous year.

@Ray Peeste Dude. I’ve bought every wwe game since WWE SVR 2008. (Even a few n64 wwf games) and I can confirm that 2k20 is the worst game I’ve ever played. The roster was okay, but the gameplay is atrocious. Definitely unplayable.

I’ll stick to Day of Reckoning 1 and 2 as well as Wrestlemania XIX. THQ and Yukes knew how to make a good WWE game.

Im real sick of these types of comments, as if Yukes never did any wrong. WWE games up until 2K20 were from Yukes. THQ was the publisher.
SvR 11 was Yukes' last good WWE game. Everything went to shit after. And even before that, content kept getting removed & brought back. HCTP's free roam *never* came back, despite the stronger hardware available. The Season Passes started under Yukes/THQ's watch. Don't get me started on hackers, the shitty reversal system, and the irreversible grappling moves.
2K/Visual Concepts have just one screw-up. Yukes has way too many to count to the point that they got *alot* to make up for now that they're solo. Their next wrestling game has to be the 9th Gen HCTP to redeem themselves. If not, then they'll be like Bungie, where the bs is still there despite leaving the company that was supposedly caused the bs.

I think WWE 12, 13 and 2K14 were leagues better than SvR 2011 with the Attitude Era and Wrestlemania showcase modes and their insane CAW and creation depth tools, with create a arena, create a championship, ect, ect. Clearly, 12, 13 and 2K14 were the peak of the 360/PS3 generation of WWE games.

Universe mode is okay imo I just completely remake the Monday night wars and fantasy book and recreate all the old PPV’s and ECW too on Saturday’s😂. Universe mode wouldn’t nearly be as playable without all the dope ass user creators who make up most my universe😂. Universe mode would definitely taking a big jump if they made it online.......but I’d rather have gm mode no question
Seems to me 2k20 showed the passion the 2k Crew have or had at the time of development. They could easily make the game a game changer but they just dropped the ball. Hopefully they redeem themselves with 2k22.
Hopefully but given how bad 20 was I have zero expectations. I doubt the bugs and glitches will be anywhere as bad but I don't see the game really 'hitting different' at all.
@@Savage_7_99 Funny name. However, I do agree with you on the “hitting different” motto. They always say something like that but they don’t fulfill the hypeness. Since they didn’t capitalize on 2k20, maybe they’ll do better on 2k22 because it’s way more understandable this time.

A lot of critics trashed on the game. While not a great game, I think it's just a decent game at best.
In my opinion i hated every second of it I just didn’t like it it wasn’t my type of wrestling style of games and people compared it too all stars but there not even clise

After Yukes left, WWE games just fell through.
It it sucks cause 2k20 had some good features and ideas but because it was such a mess that it constantly don’t work properly as it should even till this day that it ended up overpowering everything. I really wish they could have stuck with it and tried harder to get it in a better state. Like I said even to this day the game still doesn’t work right.
The features are boring and have no replay value like the SmackDown vs Raw games.

What more shockingly is the fact that all Superstar you get story with in MyPlayer story mode is already released!
It is really sad I really wanted to have sin cara, kalisto and rey mysterio in a game but instead they give us a broken game that they are part of the roster.

Getting kicked out of WWE and almost instantly winning an AEW title isn't as big of a feat as you think, let's be honest.
True. AEW is the place where Ex-WWE midcarders play. Even the Executive VP of AEW was a Midcarder in WWE.
Brock Lesnar, Sting, Jake 'The Snake' Roberts, Daniel Bryan, Kurt Angle and Ronda Rousey are also leave/fired from WWE. They could not be in the game neither.
If 2k put half the effort in the wwe games that they put the NBA ones then this would not happen.
I miss Mojo, Lars, AOP, Big Show, Gallagher, Jose, Sin Cara, Tucker.
Now you can add Strowman, Aleister Black, Buddy Murphy, Lana and Ruby Riott to this list...crazy

We need a WWE Legends of WrestleMania 2, a WWE All-Stars 2, a remake of Here Comes the Pain and a remake of WrestleMania: The Arcade Game in the works.
The series took a MAJOR hit with 2K20.. when a game is so bad it makes world news.. that's not good
Gonna suck that 2K22 will be the first WWE game that doesn't feature the Big Show since his debut.
2k could have at least updated the roster and the set design after taking a 2 year hiatus in a DLC or something.
Now that the undertaker is retired...
I can say for sure that now he will be as a unlockable characters like most of the legends & that bugs me...

I actually enjoyed WWE2K20. Sure it wasn’t the best graphic wise but it was still a pretty good game. The DLC concept was actually pretty cool. My favorites were Overlord Samoa Joe and Frankinstrowman
I wish THQ and Yuke’s can go back to making WWE games. I still don’t understand why ppl still buy WWE 2K, NBA 2K, Madden and FIFA. It’s just copy paste from previous games. The only things different is the roster, the story and bump in graphics.

The roster isn't WWE 2K20's most glaring issue. That game was a complete buggy mess. The only thing I liked about it was the fantasy element of the Originals, good material that could be used for character creation and custom storylines. I still play 2K19 and I won't accept anything less for the next instalment.
I recently played through 2k20 since it was gifted to me, aaaaaand 75% of the time I went like: Welp that guy aint in WWE no more. Oh look that Guy too! Jesus would you look at that: She has just been released! Damn this feels wierd!

Here’s an idea:
1. Release a game
2. Keep that game going until it would be better to make a new game rather than update it more
3. release that new game with give it something new and entertaining
4. Repeat
I also think they should just release these games every 2 or 3 years. Just do DLCs like twice a year or so to add new Superstars, arenas, ect. A new game every year with mostly the same content anyway is kinda pointless.
The last WWF game I owned was on SNES in the 90's. Bought WWE2k20 a couple months ago. It didn't honor my deluxe code. Still played it.. Honestly, I enjoyed it a lot. Last week my wrestler entrances disappeared. And now, it doesn't even get to the main menu. I've tried everything to fix this.. I'm devastated. Why!?

The fact that a 7+ year old WWE game is better than a modern WWE game is pretty sad
2k20 was such a shambles because the people who were developing the game, yukes, had their contract terminated halfway through development and 2k gave the unfinished game to other people to finish who didn't know how the engine worked. Because yukes are working with aew to make their wrestling game.
Tucker & Hawkins who both have terrible singles record are both rated at 75 which is higher than the likes of Sin Cara (71) who had a successful singles run with midcard titles like the Ic, Us & Cruiserweight championship reigns. This doesn't make any sense how Tucker & Hawkins are rated higher.
Also how in the hell the likes of tag team specialist like Dawson+Wilder are both rated 83 ahead of powerhouses like Lars Sullivan (80) Rusev (79) Show(81) Harper (78) Rowan (81) ?? 🤷♂️🤷♂️

Out of date roster is correct. No Raquel Gonzalez, Shotzi Blackheart, LA Knight, Bronson Reed, Swerve Scott, Leon Ruff, Garza Jr. The list goes on. 2k22 has to fix this shit and add a feature where the game will update if new wrestlers come into wwe
You can add Alistor Black and Daniel Bryan to that list as well as the list of superstars that will never come back to the wwe

Well to be fair, the game isn’t out of date. The game is based around late 2018 and 2019. I mean it is now somewhat but when the game was in development, it was based around this timeframe. That’s why Gallows & Anderson has their Balor Club attires rather than their OC attires for example.

Can't wrestlers be rehired by WWE if they've been released? Remember Drew McIntyre was released in 2014 and he came back in 2018.
And I do pray the people released are still in the game for one final time (for now) and I do hope 2K22 is a game I've wanted since 2K14 released. I need 2K22 to be the 2K14 of the current gen.
