    For switch lip ons I find that it helps to come in wider and more angled on the lip. It makes getting the tips over the rail less sketchy for me

    WOW this is nearly as informative as the tutorials from the Beginner Pack (of which I own and HIGHLY recommend!). As an off-piste Freerider OG learning some beginner freestyle I found the switch pop and all the 180/360/540 instruction very helpful. I can't wait to get out there on my first twin-tipped skis sometime in November hopefully. Among the most in depth of the free videos available thanks Jens!

    Watched every switch riding tutorial I could find on UA-cam and got to say this has to be the one that nails it all best. Very useful and professionally made with a lot of details that the other ones partially miss. My development as a switch skiier has skyrocketed with the info I have found scattered all over the place, but now it's available in one neat package from you guys and with some extras the other don't have. The carving bit for instance. I tried to find info on how to ride switch slalom around poles, and this info will certainly get me on the way there :) Problem is that if the pole is on my right side I have to look over the left shoulder to make the turn and thus going blind to the pole. If I look over the same shoulder all the time I will go blind every other pole. So I'm thinking of always carving the "opposite" way to solve this. Looking over my left shoulder when turning around a pole on my left side and vice versa. Always the "wrong" carving direction, but with some practice it might be possible... Thanks alot... I will recommend this as the "go-to" tutorial if someone wants to learn the ins and outs about switch skiing. Joined as a member to support your hard work. Keep it up!

      Did you get the opposite carve down on the slalom track? Were you able to get enough turn looking over the ”wrong” shoulder?

    If you ski switch I recommend getting comfortable in the switch position and the movement of the body, and THEN start to ski. It’ll save you quite a bit of potentially falling over.

    I have a question, if I face the skis forward to go downhill, does skiing switch make me go uphill? Hope you can get back to me soon. Would be great saving on lift cards! Maybe I have to buy skis with this reverse function?

    Hey I’ve been trying to ski switch for about a decade now but still have some trouble. When your feet are staggered and you are carving, is it normal to feel like your weight is on a single foot? In this case does that mean when you do a switch carve take off that you are popping off one foot? Cheers, and keep up the great vids!

      some people feel more comfortable with them. They can help you keep your balance sometimes and if you want to pole plant while carving that’s another option but it’s very much a comfortability choice. you don’t have to use them if you feel more comfortable without them.

    Please dont ski switch looking over both shoulders... not only does it look horrible but you have a huge blind spot between turns and you wont learn how to turn while preparing to spin off a jump if you can only turn looking over one shoulder

    • @StompItTutorials
      @StompItTutorials  3 роки тому

      Beginner typically needs to start like that. If you watch the rest of the video we go into looking over one shoulder.

    Why is it that skiers constantly refer to skiing backwards as 'switch'?? Switch is a shorthand for switch-stance and since you can't switch your stance on skis, well short of cutting off both your feet and then reattaching your right foot to your left leg and your left foot to your right leg, you can't ski 'switch'. If you're going to insist on stealing terms from skateboarding at least steal the correct terms, the one you're looking for here is 'fakie' which means backwards. Or better yet, have some creativity and invent your own term for skiing backwards rather than (incorrectly) stealing from other sports.
