I think the memoir was published in 1987- these are from the 60s as part of her high school memories. She followed bands for a pretty long time and definitely went harder than Cathy and Stevie ever would 😆
This makes SOOOO more sense when you ignore the title and realize the brief "5965" was the date of the letter. The Beatles vs The Stones was life shatteringly important in 1965...not so much in the 80s despite Lennon's passing.
According to the description, Pamela (aka - Famous Groupie) included these letters from the 60s in her memoir which was published in the 80s. These are two British actors doing their best at portraying what three 1960s era girls could have sounded like, not an impersonation of the actual letter writers. Please stop dissecting the minutiae and just enjoy the presentation.
Just wondering if they'll fix the title to the correct: '60s...especially since the exact date is even stated in the beginning of the video. This is not the best effort from the channel by a long shot, but they could at least get the title right. Usually, these are a delight. (18 hours & counting)
@@kitty1376The letters are authentic so you would expect them to be read in an authentic manner…I’m guessing your of the generation who like to kill authenticity…
The letters were actually written in the ‘60s but published in the ‘80s hence the references to The Stones and The Beatles, but the heading of the video does suggest otherwise!
Perhaps not, though they likely would have been aware of both bands (speaking a person who was a teenager in the 80s). Plus, the Rolling Stones were touring and releasing music in the 1980s, and perhaps would be even more likely to "repugnate" a teen in the 80s than in the 60s, and maybe even more likely to do so now than in the 80s. 😂
These are boomer kids. 60s teens. Beatles mania and Rolling Stones. 80s was different. Think Eddie Van Halen, Mötley Crüe, Michael Jackson and Prince. And Madonna! You can’t forget Madonna.
Where’s the hilarious part?....this is just two supposed teenage Americans and their usual obsessions with singers…on being groupies…plenty of girls did it back in the day ..and still do…clearly stated 5/9/65 right…

Just for the coinage "repugnate", this gets my thumbs-ups! 🤣
Love Claire sooo much... since she played Adorabella Dearheart.. :)
LOL! Claire that was once again absolutely perfect and hilarious! Thank you!!

"You repugnate me" i think i'm gonna use that.
Certainly cromulent.
Pam as in Pamela DesBarres? Hah!!! I love it!
Not 80s teenagers. No, these were 60s teens.
This is from the book _I'm with the Band_.
I've met Pamela, this is spot on.

I still have some letters from my friends in the 80's.
And an entire diary of 1986!
Interesting reads indeed...
And hands down....Pam won the argument...lol....
The letter was dated 1965, correct?
That’s what she said. 5/9/65
Yup. They completely botched the title.
Definitely 60's teens.
You tell 'em, Pamela lmao
I have a question, as someone who was a teen in the 80's. HOW CAN THESE BEEN TEENS IN THE 1980's WHEN THE DATE ON THE LETTER IS 1965???
Description says the letters were published in 87, I guess the person writing the title got confused
@@San1984 Quite confused...or lackadaisical.
If you were born in 1965 you were a teenager right up to 1984 and would stop being a teenager in 1985.
@@stevenredpath9332 Sorry, you're suggesting the letter was written by an infant?
The date is read directly from the letter. 5/9/65. They were written in 1965 and published in 1987.

Title is Mislabeled, obviously.
In case it isn't clear from the other comments: THE TITLE OF THE VIDEO HAS TO BE CHANGED to "[...]'60s teenagers"
Typo, it’s 1960’s teenagers, not 1980’s teenagers. And 1960’s teenagers didn’t speak in a valley-girl accent, that’s the 1980’s. 🤦♀️
Who cares if they didn't speak that way in the '60s? She's reading it in 2023 and I'm guessing no one said she had to read it in a specific way.

@@kitty1376 The idea is to present in an authentic manner. Sorry someone had to be uncommonly rude about it, tho.
They aren't the first British actors to do an American accent as SoCal Valley style.
Be like Pamela y'all
Queen Elizabeth and Molly Hooper
the beatles wanted to hold your hand, while the rolling stones wanted to burn your house down
Jackson and Yibo know each other and battled on street Dance of China lolol
No 1980’s teenagers would be concerned with the Beatles or Stones…
Can confirm...

The Stones were still around and pretty bigin the 80s. The Beatles didn’t interest me at all back then.
Loved them both in the 80s.
Comedy really _is_ subjective.
So this is what the English do between servings of boiled beans. Bravo!

Wow. Teen girls were always awful.
Always!
Since the dawn of time.
Unfortunately some still are.
