Ms. Kaylan is an absolute class act and I cannot thank and appreciate her enough. I was thinking of moving back to Nigeria a few years back when I came across her channel and was struck in the same way about her videos as Mr. Maya spoke about in this video.
Speaking metaphorically, she is the Moses of going black to Africa. I'm always inspired by the stories of pioneers. Whether they initiated change consciously or unconsciously. Well done, Wode Maya!

I LOVE Kaylan..I followed her for so long (even before you started schooling in China,,Wode Maya) ..she truly is a trailblazer, a pioneer, very very brave..she believed in Africa as an African American...I am glad to see her on your channel because I knew that Africa may soon get to her..I perceived she needed a "booster"...Yeah, she should come to West Africa..maybe soon I would sponsor her trip to Naija...but it's good to see her here...And that conversation between African Americans and Africans..even still going on with my Nigerian brothers in Yankee..I am very very involved. It's part of my calling...that's why I got to know of her..CONGRATULATIONS on her new baby!!
This is the video I have most anticipated!!! Her channel is the first African American, who moved to Africa, which I had subscribed to, right from the beginning. Hopefully, I get to hear why her channel has been dormant for so long. It really used to be really interesting.
Maya, so glad you made the effort to find Kaylan; an exceptionally brilliant and decent human being! I've been wondering why she's been gone from UA-cam for so long but understand why now. Congratulations to her on the new birth and many blessings to her and her family.
Youtubing was more of a hobby for her, more like telling her story back when it was not yet lucrative, she had a job as a teacher at that time, plus her husband works.Hence she does not post daily, unlike recent arrivals pretty much live off on you tube hence the more daily videos,at times 3 videos a day .I remember another old school you tube family called ''Life's humble hunt''. They were offered jobs in Liberia in the Medical field so they vlogged about their lives in 2017-2018 as a hobby. They took time to travel to other African nations on holidays and vlogged about it too.Once their work contract expired, they started a business in East Africa and stopped vlogging all together. The channel has been offline for years now,but they settled in East Africa and are running their business there. So their repatriation was a success.
She definitely inspired me as well to start my youtube channel. Great idea about the unifying platform for all diasporians. Nice interview Wode Maya🙏🏾🙏🏾
You just wished the interview kept much longer because listening to her effortless delivery is just soothing to the ear 👂. Sounds like she scripted the answers but no this is pure intelligence. Well abreast with the issues and purely enjoyed her vocal display of wisdom. She was very careful and gave an honest opinion about her experience and what to expect. She should continue her teaching and impact such wisdom and oratory skills to the people and place she now calls home. Genius 🙌🙌
Wow! Thanks so much! No not scripted at all! I was actually thinking afterwards that I should’ve asked Maya to tell me the questions beforehand so I would’ve answered better 😂😂😂😩🤦🏾♀️
@@AfroAmericaninAfrica You were not scripted at all. You also did not try to sugar coat anything. So proud of my Bajan sister. Notice I am claiming you. I am planning to travel to that part of the Continent as soon as it is more convenient. Was in Ghana twice in 2019. You will feel very at home there . Trust me it was not my first visit to Africa. But there was something very special about Ghana
Maya when you go to the Caribbean you'll understand how much of the African culture was maintained. That's why Caribbean people are more adoptable in Africa . We are like mini Africa except no fufu. Our ancestors would've gotten whipped if they weren't in the fields working instead of pounding food.
Its why I was excited to hear that Air Peace now does direct Flights from Lagos to Kingston,we need to connect more with Caribbeans coz we have much more in common.Ghana also waived Visa conditions for Jamaicans,Barbadans who can visit Ghana without a Visa. Its a step in right direction.
@@lemigod4475 there needs to be a flight between Ghana and Barbados, it’s like a 4 hour journey. It is time for us to start connecting back to Mama Africa.
@@mustaphastjules1194 Hopefully Africa can have another Black owned Airline like AIR PEACE that can do direct flights to Barbados. Also we Pan Africanists are now lobbying for the Africon football tournament to start having Guest teams from the Caribbean on a rotation basis. That way we can have Haiti,Jamaica compete in Africon, then next time we have Barbados,Trinidad and so forth. We need to connect more with Sports, business and trade. Its only way to break away from this disconnection .
Simply explained, the tuth, she's a great moderator, for Afrikan diaspora, so hopefully she will be having a huge platform uniting our people. She said it best, It all started there and will end there. God Bless Mama Afrika....

If I could give 5 thumbs up for this video, I will do it. She is truly a pioneer, and I don't think that she knows that. She is right about the white UA-camrs before her. Oh boy, things have changed since.
Really miss this lady and always wonder where she is,I would go to her channel and realize she's not uploading. I'm extremely happy to c her,Maya u did it again u are still the best.
Namibia...I know that country because of Frankie Frederick's days. He's been a true ambassador for the continent and, an inspirational for the young Africans in Sports. On a good note, I feel Africa, is slowly and steadily realising the deep and sophisticated colonial traps. Please report on development projects that help the continent towards self sufficiency and say NO to AID.
There is lots of channels like Displore,Green light, the New Africa,Intervlog etc that specialize in reporting on new projects going on in Africa. They post daily videos so you won't be disappointing.

You did right to put back to Africa in quotation marks because its based on a false narrative.
👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿. Wel done. Having a Carribean heritage does help you to carry a lighter load and a differend mindset about an all black country.
African*
She should be in the history book.
Africa is a learning experience for even us africans🤦♀️
Just remember to be respectful, and watch your words, when at home or visiting a foreign country. People are individuals, and I do not argue. Put a d before anger and you get danger.
I’m moving to Africa from America Soon I would love to make friends before I come
I remember her. She was a teacher right?? I remember her also cause she is Lurie Daniels Favors long lost sister (meaning they look alike) lol. This is a good one Wode.
haha she was a teacher & that's how she found her husband!

Wonderful Maya...you are the BEST... wonderful sista!
Wode Maya, the son of the continent ❤
Maya she is inspiration to many African American coz she took a right decision and the mother’s origin played a lot.Very courageous woman. She was right people fears Africa a lot for what they see on TV they have to break that fear and come to the continent to live their best life.
I loved it. #estherpinkm

I love her so much. She is welcome to South Africa any day. May her children be blessed.
Great interview WM! I luv this woman she is so down to earth and spiritual and graceful and humble...you name it. I wonder if she has a sister that is just like her?????
This is the shortest 20 minute video I've watched my whole life, this is too good, guys I'm not crying 😭😭😭😭😭
I'm a Namibian living in Germany and the love for this my sister is bigggggg i just love her humbleness and real absolutely my darling sister you are not African American but a True African/Namibian who was born in America that's how i see you i definitely want to meet you when I'm in Namibia ❤❤
Such an inspiring content. Thank you Wode Maya for bringing Namibia closer to people. Cheers from Namibia 🇳🇦.
Any time!btw more to come!
She is Amazing!! Yes, one of the First UA-camrs that opened the eyes of Many! Love her! Wode Maya you are so sweet to find her in Namibia and give her props! Many blessings!
Ms. Kaylan is an absolute class act and I cannot thank and appreciate her enough.
I was thinking of moving back to Nigeria a few years back when I came across her channel and was struck in the same way about her videos as Mr. Maya spoke about in this video.
You both are trailblazers. I've been a fan of you both since day one!
Speaking metaphorically, she is the Moses of going black to Africa. I'm always inspired by the stories of pioneers. Whether they initiated change consciously or unconsciously. Well done, Wode Maya!
Well done girl 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I am currently in Africa/ Cameroon 🇨🇲 with my dauther after 14 years living in the United Kingdom and we need to adjust in every way.😅👍🏽❤️
Welcome to Cameroon/Africa. This is the best decision in your life and your children. You are righting the wrongs of a particular hateful race.
@Narisse Listz , Welcome home, wish you all the best in reintegration. One day at a time, with the joy of the sunshine on your shoulders.
Kaylan is a breath of fresh air. I love her channel. Thank you Maya for this interview. Thank you Kaylan for what you do.
Great interview. This sister can hold a conversation and she flows. That's kind of you Wode Maya. Happy time in Afrika.
She is media-trained, a school teacher & a Utuber; all entail public speaking to an attentive audience.
I will be there soon, Namibia have always been my choice. Watching from St lucia
We will welcome you with open arms and warm hearts.
Feel free to link up when you get here. We live in the north.
You are steadfast and that speaks volumes. I have switched my African country of settlement sooooo many times🤣🤣 And now here I am admiring the beauty of Namibia once more 💓
I LOVE Kaylan..I followed her for so long (even before you started schooling in China,,Wode Maya) ..she truly is a trailblazer, a pioneer, very very brave..she believed in Africa as an African American...I am glad to see her on your channel because I knew that Africa may soon get to her..I perceived she needed a "booster"...Yeah, she should come to West Africa..maybe soon I would sponsor her trip to Naija...but it's good to see her here...And that conversation between African Americans and Africans..even still going on with my Nigerian brothers in Yankee..I am very very involved.
Indeed!! She truly is a pioneer for the movement. A positive and gracious woman.
WOW!! You finally found her! I started watching her journey way back and then she stopped posting videos.
She will be back soon
Maya, so glad you made the effort to find Kaylan; an exceptionally brilliant and decent human being! I've been wondering why she's been gone from UA-cam for so long but understand why now. Congratulations to her on the new birth and many blessings to her and her family.
Thanks so much!! ♥️♥️♥️
@@lemigod4475 That’s nice to hear. Need to look them up.
Namibia looks beautiful, would definitely love to visit some day......thanks for showing us this beautiful country wode.
You are welcome bella
Nice respectful women. No fake body parts and speaking with intelligence. I love it
"No fake body parts"......I'm rolling on the floor. 😂
Some men like the fake body parts and even surgically enhanced one. They will even fund it so that you can look that way.
She definitely inspired me as well to start my youtube channel. Great idea about the unifying platform for all diasporians. Nice interview Wode Maya🙏🏾🙏🏾
Beautiful! Born in Ohio then moved to Georgia but I’m going home to Africa!!!
Genius 🙌🙌
SKT is always in the house supporting brother Maya!
How are you doing, my brother?
Wow! Thanks so much! No not scripted at all! I was actually thinking afterwards that I should’ve asked Maya to tell me the questions beforehand so I would’ve answered better 😂😂😂😩🤦🏾♀️
@@historyasaguidinglight4115 am doing great my brother. Thanks 😊
@@AfroAmericaninAfrica I was very attentive and loved your oratory skills.
Thanks 😊 for the reply. Really appreciate it
@@AfroAmericaninAfrica You were not scripted at all. You also did not try to sugar coat anything. Thanks for sharing your experience and pointing out that there always will be challenges to anyone who moves to a new country. Africans who move to USA also experience the same. Looking forward to know you better and will be binging on your videos until you start posting again. Congratulations on your new bundle of joy!
Yes! Africa is the future !!! Have patience, have belief ❤️
Awww thats so sweet
Loving the Namibian content 😍😍😍 road to 1 million subbies ❤️
We will get there soon!
So proud of my Bajan sister. Notice I am claiming you. I am planning to travel to that part of the Continent as soon as it is more convenient. Was in Ghana twice in 2019. You will feel very at home there . Trust me it was not my first visit to Africa. But there was something very special about Ghana
The beauty of it all is that,Wode Maya is actually growing with his audience. Your videos have improved a lot. Kudos
This is probably true. She was on UA-cam before it was popular to talk about going to Africa on UA-cam
Maya when you go to the Caribbean you'll understand how much of the African culture was maintained. That's why Caribbean people are more adoptable in Africa . We are like mini Africa except no fufu. Our ancestors would've gotten whipped if they weren't in the fields working instead of pounding food.
Hey Eileen, we have fufu at least I can speak for Guyana… lol. You are so right, the Caribbean is like mini Africa.
😂 That line about fufu!!
I'm from NYC, I just left Burkina Faso, But moving somewhere in Africa the years end... We all out eventually!
She's a very positive woman, kudos to her and her family.
Kaylan is just amazing, welcome back sista. Congratulation for your second child.
Brilliant interview, i was wondering where she dissapeared to... she pioneered this migration for real...Bless
Simply explained, the tuth, she's a great moderator, for Afrikan diaspora, so hopefully she will be having a huge platform uniting our people. She said it best, It all started there and will end there. God Bless Mama Afrika....
I don't know why this channel isn't at 5 million, I love the 2 way bridge that Wode Maya creates between the diaspora and Africans, this is powerful and we need more.
Wow,at last.I was a devoted follower of her journey and life in Namibia when she use to post frequently on youtube.I dont mean to pry but i couldnt help to notice a missing wedding ring on her ring finger.I really want and wish her to enjoy a lifetime of marital bliss with Mr Shipanga in Namibia. Her marriage was probably the only marital unison ive ever seen between an African Diasp and an African in the continent of Africa.
I have been following her for years! She was the first one to inspire me to want to go to the continent. Love, love, love her.
Amazing!
To the one person reading this: you’re a legend and adorable, stay safe!
The smile on Maya's Face when she says she married Namibian,, is priceless 😊
Just subscribed to her channel, shes such a daring leaving newyork to come leave to Africa, thumps up to her. We need of of such.
Wode you are doing an amazing job. Well done and congratulations to the beautiful lady
Really miss her channel. It was informative & real. Thank you Wode Maya, for finding her again &, giving her her well deserved flowers!
I've been catching up on her archived videos like a crack addict (literally!). 👍
