I have a family of Carolina wrens nesting in a hanging resin birdhouse shaped like a fire helmet (I’m a volunteer), and I’ve had them nesting in other parts of my backyard over the years. Sometimes they take over a bluebird house, sometimes they nest in one of the hanging birdhouses, and one memorable year they chose a wooden flower box I had under my potting table on the deck. I hadn’t even known they were there until I was planting spring flowers in the pots on my deck and several juvenile wrens came hopping right up to me and watched what I was doing. Those cute little guys had absolutely no fear!

We usually get a nesting pair of wrens each spring, 😊 but then they leave. 😕 And the meadowlark I only hear when I am on back roads traveling in Nebraska. They are always on the fences in extremely wide open places. Such an amazing clarity to their song. It seems it mirrors the expansiveness around them.

Love Wrens. Got a bunch of them around my place. They nest all over the place. One has a nest now in a small bucket on my back porch. Another poor little guy tried to make a nest on the back eave of my new chicken coop but the ledge wouldn't hold the material. There was enough moss laying on the ground to fill at least a 13 gallon trash can. I'm going to add a block that will fix that for them today when I'm there to add another roosting bar in the coop.

We have 2 nest boxes in the back yard. Either chickadees or house wrens use them each summer. Love both but the chickadees will always be my favorite, but not by much. We also have 5 feeders and one suet station all with different seeds. Seems like sunflower hearts are preferred by gold and house finches. When chickadee moms and/or dads bring their chicks to show them where to get lunch, and they were born and raised in our nest box it can’t get any better. So much joy and happiness. Only 30 years ago we didn’t even notice but holy smokes who knew? It’s an older people thing so thank you very much !
In mid May, we live in south central Minnesota, the summer migration is in full swing. They began stopping about 5 years ago and it’s been an annual event. Goldfinches, indigo buntings, rose breasted grosbeaks, Baltimore orioles, white throated and white crowned and Harris sparrows. Just in May we put out orange halves and grape jelly for the orioles. For 2-5 days it’s a mad house but the highlight of our bird watching for the entire year. Some birds make one visit and gone. The first year I had my bird book out to try to identify about half a dozen of mid size yellow birds with thick beaks. Ground feeders they were and “Holy cow!” Evening Grosbeaks and what a surprise. They’ve never returned. The house wrens eat insects and little green caterpillars and sing, sing, sing. Yep birds are for us old timers, and we’ll keep them.

@@v.dargain1678 It's not there now a bloody magpie attacked the tree trying to get the nest, I was gutted, and haven't seen it since but we have about 25 baby house martins bouncing around the garden, it's been so funny watching them learn things. They are coming really close to feed now. We also saw a sparrow hawk yesterday but I chased it. I love the birds coming into the garden, always have,

No wonder they’re so prolific! The males helping feed the young of several females! They wear themselves out after two or three years, but have sired many offspring. Great information and fun video!

We love our Wrens! We have been hosts for the last 3 years, for new babies. They use our garage, a lot! It always makes me nervous because we have to make sure someone is at home, all of the time. Plus, someone has to get up early ( 5AM) to open the door. Last spring they gave me a break. They dug out one of my Greenstalk planters and made nests. 😆They are great for the garden, because, they are often seen popping in and out of the plants cleaning up the bugs.

Where I live in North Carolina
    (U.S.A.) we have Carolina Wrens.
I have been feeding all my wild backyard birds for over 20 years now. I always like to see my little Carolina Wrens.
I have one Wren that almost every day sits on my BBQ grill and melodiously sings so beautifully. I have even taken video of him singing.
A few weeks ago some Carolina Wrens found their way into my husbands workshop. They built a nest. We thought they only had one baby in the workshop.
But, the next day I actually discovered four fledglings trying to find their way out of the workshop. So, I helped all the babies get out of the building.
I don't know if they all survived once they got out, but at least they had a chance (once they got out of the building).
But, every day I enjoy seeing my Wrens fly to the bird feeder for roasted unsalted peanut chips...which they love!!!
Then they fly onto my back deck to break up the peanut chip and eat it.
They truly are such adorable little birds...even when I walk past them and they loudly scold me...I still love them!

It also has one of the largest breeding colonies of northern gannets in the world not to mention the puffins and fulmars. Also there is an endemic field mouse which is also larger than the mainland mice, the Soay sheep as well, quite an incredible place really

Cool video. I've been attracting wrens to my yard for years now. (Carolina wren, looks almost identical to the ones in your video.) This year, for the first time I actually seem to have SEVERAL pairs happily living in my yard. One in one of my first wren houses and one took over a bluebird box. I'm delighted every year when they show up. Always a sad day when I realize they are gone.

I have some kind of wren living out back and out front. They scold each other first thing in the morning, and then scold us all the rest of the day 🤣👍
They will scold me for looking out the window pane in the door sometimes from inside the house haha.
They are tiny, but mighty in their own minds ❤

Our Carolina Wrens here in North Carolina are a lot like yours. They are a wonderful addition to the property and their song comes through all the doors and windows! But their song is slower than the one you played and seems to come four chirps at a time. 🪶
