Hi Andrea, stand up when you fill it. And stand over it and push it down trying to flatten it as you go.

Before you vacuum shake the bag around to kind of even out the scraps. This will help shape the bag flatter.

That would help a lot! Thanks for the tip! 😁

I neatly layer my fabrics in the bag before I vacuum seal it. Then they'll stack flat and you'll fit more in each bag.

I'm wondering how wrinkled the fabric will be when you take it out to use it. Myself, I wouldn't use the bags. There are times I need a small piece of fabric and with the bags you can't get to them.

That was my thought as well. Or looking for that perfect fabric and you can see its in one of the sealed bags. Have to open it up again.

Like you I’m hoping to do some quilting with my scraps. I use these bags for my fabric storage which works well. I still love my roller blades wheels on my chair which I’m so glad you shared.

Hi Andrea, I store my scraps in those clear plastic shoe boxes according to colour. They are stacked on a shelf in a closet in my sewing room. They look nice & neat, the only thing is I don’t really use them much. I like to cut into new fabric! Looks like you save a lot of space with bags. 😊

Sounds great! I wish mine were color sorted!

IMO anything small gets donated to others. Fabric is folded on comic book boards so it is easily accessible. I can't imagine doing this with any fabric personally.Totes will stack neatly while compression bags may not.

Yeah 👍 I probably should donate the scraps!

I had a large bag of scraps, small cut offs, and in a time recently when it was imperative that I reorganize, I made the decision to toss. The bag had been moved and shifted and I decided everything went in, but nothing came out, I won’t refer to it as trash, but that’s where it landed🙁

I agree with many of the comments here--but you started out with saying that you aren't going to do anything with this for a while. Therefore you have freed a bin to be more accessible for other stuff. Also, putting the fabric in these bags, they are air and moisture tight. You can then relegate them to unconditioned space in your home. You've cleared the bin and cleared your sewing space.

You need to keep the contents as flat as you can before you take the vacuum to it! They are a Fantastic idea

I tried these bags but they eventually would not keep the air sealed out. So disappointing.
