    R.I.P. Henry. His death made think back to what Sam said in 4x19 regarding Adam: "He's a Winchester. He's already cursed."

    If you watch closely, in "in the beginning" when Dean and young Mary first meet he's pinning her to a wall, if you look at the bracelet she's wearing - one of the amulets on it is the Man of Letters sigil

    fun fact : in that scene where dean was sleeping and sam wakes him up, jensen was actually asleep

    I actually wouldn’t put Dean and Sam in those boxes, but the other way around. Sure, Sam got a good SAT score and did well in school- but Dean built an EMF meter out of an old Walkman as a teenager! And he’s a better strategist, we saw that in the last episode with him rearranging Charlie’s war plans.
    It’s always been something that I’ve felt very strongly about- everyone on the show thinks of Dean as Daddy’s little soldier. A good fighter, but not much else. But we know that’s not true. Dean thinks he’s not as smart as Sam, but I think Dean is smarter than Sam. Dean judges the fact that he wasn’t able to finish high school- but imagine if he weren’t trying to raise a child as a child himself, if he had the time to do any sort of schoolwork, if he didn’t have to try to hustle money to feed and clothe Sam, give up everything for Sam, and also back his dad up on hunts. He’d have breezed through school, I have no doubt of that. So it’s always been something I’ve thought a lot about.
    Dean is the smart one, but he thinks he isn’t. Plus, being shallow and presenting himself as less intelligent than he is, that’s part of the façade.

    Great reaction like always. Love how you genuinely get surprised. When I first watched this episode it made me think back to other episodes about Mary and her family. It just goes to show you how far ahead the writers were. This episode is 1 of my favorites

    They did a goof here. Even though I love Henry and this ep, generally - in S4, when Cas sent Dean back in time the first time and Dean meets John in the diner, there's a guy who comes through and tells John to say hello to his old man for him, so at that point, Henry was still around. It's only in/after THIS ep that the whole canon about Henry having "run out on" John as a child comes up. LOL Oops!

    • @maine0389
      @maine0389 3 роки тому +6

      Yea i can remember that scene aswell, could John of had a step father and they referred to him as his dad/old man?? 🤷‍♀️

    • @goeltrolden
      @goeltrolden 3 роки тому +7

      I've always assumed he had a Stepdad. Who had likely been around for so long that he referred to him as dad/pops

    • @TheAlmaward
      @TheAlmaward 3 роки тому

      @@maine0389 No, because at some point after THIS ep, they say how John grew up with only his mother, and once she died, he was alone, which is why he joined the Marines. So, he had no father figure or stepfather that could have been referred to as "your old man" by the guy in the diner. It's just an oops. ;)

    • @TheAlmaward
      @TheAlmaward 3 роки тому +1

      @@goeltrolden but he didn't, because they explicitly say at one point, after this ep, how John grew up with only his mother.

      @@TheAlmaward I don't know to be honest lol but it says 'after Henrys disappearance in 1958 John may have been raised by a step father, grandfather or uncle referred to as his old man in 73.'I always took it that he had some male figure in his life or even maybe his later life 🤔 If it is a oops moment i don't think it's a huge one to be honest, i think most people would just take it that he had some kind of male influence 👍👍
