Looks like the tree's ran well ! Very different spring some were making syrup the end of Feb , the sap was running 3 weeks early, When you get done this years wood you should always try to get at least another half a years worth done then you breath so much easier & you can cut when you want not when you have too :) Then firewood is fun !

That would be ideal. We have so many things to get done this year I’m not sure we’ll have time for next years wood too! Haha

If my grandpa would still be alive and he would see all those wind fall trees, he'd be in seventh heaven. He had a 40×60 pole shed, and almost half was filled with firewood.

Nice work you two! Just found your channel and enjoyed seeing the process. I have been optimizing the maple syrup boiling at our off-grid cabin (Upper Michigan) and sharing what I learn here on YT. I looked into wood consumption and now we use 1/4 of what it used to be and get about 10 gallons (38 L I think) finished syrup per 3/4 face cord. Reverse Osmosis helps a lot but a simple DIY variable speed blower (you can run off power tool batteries) saved quite a bit of wood too and sped things up. I look forward to seeing your setup evolve - it is an addictive hobby! Cheers!

That’s neat! We continue to add more taps each season, we’re eventually going to have to look into RO for efficiency !

We always use the splitter in the vertical position. One person sits on a full log and operates and the other person rolls in full logs to the operator. No lifting!

Another cool video! I like making stuff out of wood discs too. Im sure you know but your discs are cut perpendicular to the trunk, If you cut them at a 45 degree angle to the trunk you will get an oval disc with the bark angled. I make charcuterie boards from them. Alot of them crack in the drying process.

I did it, the it is firewood. for room and board, and it for about 6 years we were splitting and selling firewood to pay the bills, I'm not kidding we did on average 6 chords a month. And of course I was about 25 years younger. What I'm trying to say and having a difficult time doing it is I watch you guys process firewood and it just brings back really good memories, I really like your content I love your porches what a good idea.

Hi, my name is Matt and I am in the states Michigan to be exact and I want to know how I can buy some of your syrup. I've been watching you for about couple months now. And I would love to actually see you soon. Other products you have besides this syrup. So if you could please point me in the right direction or give me a website to go to so I can see your products and by syrup. I wish I was close enough to you to buy some eggs. I mean, I do have a local person but I always like to support people on UA-cam like yourself and I would love to do that but for some other products you have and I know I've been hearing Holly talked about him and you have stuff in stores. Show I hope to hear from you soon. Thanks, Matt from Michigan.

@@living.different Hi Holly, this is Matt from Michigan. I just went to your website. Living differently, which you directed me to. And to be honest with you, my wife already has a list of soaps and other stuff that she wants to order. But but we're going to do is wait until the syrup comes available in order. Everything at once. I think you for giving me your website. And I look forward to using your products in the very near future. Thanks, Matt for Michigan.

if you burnt over 6 cord of wood you might want to invest in some insulation
