Miracles in DS are stories of divine acts, so basically the more Faith you have the easier it is to believe more unbelievable stories. Aldritch was able to create the Lifehunt miracle just by viewing Priscilla in a vision.
There's also the fact that the effects of these miracles become true through the power of the gods, which means that the more faith (in the gods) you have, the more power they will grant you.
Dragonbasty That seems to be the case with many miracles, but some are described as being about a particular saint or other devout person, and then there's Aldritch's Life Hunt Scythe miracle. It seems more that the power of miracles comes from inside the user, not an outside force, which would explain why your Faith, not a bond with any deity, determines the power of a miracle.
You obviously haven't watched alot of Vaati, OnlyAfro, ironpineapple or the lord and saviour, WildPie101. Give em a watch if you haven't. Legends never die.
Soldering iron doesn't prevent ppl from healing as the item description suggests unfortunately. It just reduces the amount of health that their flasks can heal them. Not nearly as useful as complete estus blockage. I got so excited when I found that weapon and read the item description and then I used it in an invasion and my hopes and dreams just shattered when I hit the host and he still chugged estus in my face, lol.
This thing is really amazing. Extremely good intelligence scaling, and meeting its base stat requirements actually gives a solid chunk of physical damage. Its physical damage, like the Lucerne, is all thrust, which allows for thrust counter attacks. It has extremely long reach, especially when one-handed. Speaking of one-handed, it neither blocks nor parries when held in the left hand (l1 is an r1, and l2 casts spells), making it an excellent offhand for sorcerer hybrid builds. It also deals fire damage, and though that isn't a big deal in PvP, in PvE it gives another damage type for a sorcerer, so that they don't have to switch out equipment when fighting the enemies who are resistant to both dark and magic (of which there are a remarkable number). The weapon art deals respectable damage, and can be used quite effectively if you treat it like White Dragon Breath (best used either at close range or unlocked). I used this as an offhand on a build where my right hand weapon was the Crystal Sage's Rapier, and it did some serious work.
I always thought of the Faith stat as a "power within" sort of thing. The caster draws power from their deepest, truest beliefs. i.e. Gods teachings, love for their spouse, or personal mottos to live by. I guess lighting is one of the ways faith manifests itself. Love your vids dude.
Yea moose just wanna say your part of the reason i'm still playing DS3 , I see you play a build I've not touched in a while and I'm straight back on for another playthrough. cheers n keep it up
wow, I tested out the immolation tinder on a character I use for these things and was relatively impressed at the time, but I didn't invest in the stats or upgrades to pvp with it, I'm much more impressed.
I just started a mage character, and finally got the levels to use the Tinder. Very similar stats; level 50 int, with 18 a piece in STR/DEX. So far I prefer the Moonlight Great Sword as I have a hard time landing spells in PVP.
The Boss of Sauce Right now at SL 100 the AR on my MGS is over 650 which is just delicious. I haven't played anyone with a shield yet, though I'm really curious to see how much damage bleeds through, since the majority of the damage is magic.
Lots of credit for wielding the soldering iron. In fact as I was watching I was thinking, "if somebody had the cajones to use the soldering iron against me, I think I would take out my un-upgraded soldering iron in response"
really nice battles, I enjoyed watching. I use a rather similar mage setup, although with more focus on dark spells. In any case, I'd recommend having a parry tool to switch for the candlestick, as the goto strategy for many people against Tinder mages is to play very agressive, in particular with weapons such as the Gotthard's.
Considering the Smouldering Iron reduces Estus potency, wouldn't it be an annoyance to casters trying to refill with Ashen Estus? It's effect that also raises equip load could also be good against heavy weapons/armor users.
Wait, wearing a helmet with the sorcerer robes puts the hood on?? I knew it worked with the sorcerer headwear but didn't know it worked for other headwear! I never knew that before! What other helmets does it work with?? I need to know! EDIT! From the wiki: "The hood of the robe will be worn when equipped alongside the following headgear: Sorcerer Hood, Assassin Hood, Executioner Helm, Elite Knight Helm, Old Sage's Blindfold." That is SO cool, brb fashion experiments inbound!
I feel like just leveling up another 5 times for the 50 intelligence and putting on the Leo Ring would have been better. It'd have boosted physical damage by a good amount since the strength and dexterity were a bit lacking.
The Boss of Sauce I definitely want to try. Got myself a +10 refined Lucerne and I must say, it's gotten me liking halberds in general. Not to mention the Tinder is a halberd itself, it's like the Blue Flame all over again XP
Yes!! Honestly all halberds are pretty great, Dragonslayer Sword Spear is pretty fun, partailly because it's got the spear running R1, which is nice for roll catches
Actually... the use of 'faith' as a term is correct even if divine power is clearly visible in effect. Since divine effect is one of supplication to a higher power... which need not reciprocate in favor. So one have to have 'faith' that the higher power will do so.
I've played around with this a lot, and i find it a lot better to use flashsword as 60% of my regular atks, seeing as it has low fp cost, and does the full weapon dmg on top of the sorcery, i also use dark edge and great deep soul instead of dart and crystal soul spear, better usage for the hybrid that comes to play with the Immolation Tinder
Not quite but they're a bit similar. Lorian's goes through a stomp animation, has less range but hits a bit harder, especially if they're close enough.
I'm planning on doing a build like this, but when I wen't on battle calculator and did the same levels, it ended up with the lowest sl being 105 while your 100. Is this an error, or did they nerf one of the classes?
I'm confused about the scaling. If it's got E scaling in STR and C in DEX, with 18 STR/DEX on your character, how does the Knight's Ring boost AR to 563 but the Hunter's Ring only boosts it to 562? Shouldn't it work the other way around?
6:50 I'm sorry...but you aren't easily stabbing through somebody with this thing and then cleanly pulling it out. If you stab someone with this thing, realistically you just turned your opponent and weapon into a giant shish kebab.
Or just be around level 100 on PS4, I've played against Moose at least 6 times in the last month just randomly picking up his summon sign, or he picking up mine (PSN: iamamish)
audrey spino Hmmm, maybe it is the time of day at which you are playing. I'm at between SL 92 and 104 on all my characters, and as I mentioned, I've run into him quite a few times. Sounds like Moose's original advice re: Facebook is probably better advice then. :)
Parrys always seem like cheap garbage. Most of the time I see people getting their ass beat, and the only skill they have is parrying ,but really. That's the only skill they need.
Miracles in DS are stories of divine acts, so basically the more Faith you have the easier it is to believe more unbelievable stories. Aldritch was able to create the Lifehunt miracle just by viewing Priscilla in a vision.
Ok? Who didn't know that already
+Zeluxy Moose seemed to not understand that. He questioned what Faith is supposed to mean in the context of this game and the mechanics.
It seems more that the power of miracles comes from inside the user, not an outside force, which would explain why your Faith, not a bond with any deity, determines the power of a miracle.
makes sense when you think about it
I like your friendly down to earth spirit, the best part of this video. Keep it up.
Hey I just want to say I enjoy your commentary. Most people who play this game are snobby douchebags, so congrats man. Keep it up and you'll do well.
Thanks man!
You obviously haven't watched alot of Vaati, OnlyAfro, ironpineapple or the lord and saviour, WildPie101. Give em a watch if you haven't. Legends never die.
You just listed snobs, douches or snobby douchebags...
The plow guy returns with the soldering iron and the handmaid's dagger! Man, I love this guy!
Are you not entertained?
Your videos are always a good way to start the morning. Thank you for uploading :)
I concur. C:
Seeing my favorite weapon being complimented makes me happy.
Wow that's lame haha!
I saw someone win a duel with it in Anor Londo. Lol!

"Let's get started with the PVP!" I love the way he says it
"Faith vs Intelligence" you summed up how the world works
Bruh...
He was an adventurer, too. And then he got Moose's dart to the knee...
"That guy has a wizards hat, but a warriors sword, that must mean..." GANDALF YOU CASUL!!!!!!
First time watching a video of yours/ good content and you're not swearing at every death via pvp.
good shit
PRAISE THE SUN
How long have you been friends with Solaire of Astora?
i really love your bad jokes moose..
Faith in this game is closer to conviction really, it's belief in the power of your miracles
I liked the video! Greetings from Brazil!
Thanks man! Good to hear from people outside the US.
ey Philippines here!
+Moose Torrent aussie here! moose where r u from
Josh Clough I'm in the US
+Josh Clough Im aussie

Love your vids dude.
Why do you have to start that shit, you fucking bigot.
Someone should make a, "Soul of Tinder" build. Immolation Tinder with a Soul of Cinder cosplay.
real sweet how you stomped on that guy that did the cocky entrance
Yea moose just wanna say your part of the reason i'm still playing DS3 , I see you play a build I've not touched in a while and I'm straight back on for another playthrough. cheers n keep it up
Thanks man! Glad you like my videos!
Moose I gotta say, youre a great caster in pvp it actully motivates me to try casting builds in pvp and its amazing~
wow, I tested out the immolation tinder on a character I use for these things and was relatively impressed at the time, but I didn't invest in the stats or upgrades to pvp with it, I'm much more impressed.
Man ist so unfair that you have 19k subs you deserve 1.4 million great youtuber big big fan :D
Thanks for the love bruv!
Thanks for the answer :D ^^
I just started a mage character, and finally got the levels to use the Tinder. Very similar stats; level 50 int, with 18 a piece in STR/DEX. So far I prefer the Moonlight Great Sword as I have a hard time landing spells in PVP.
Immolation Tinder can hit like a truck at higher levels, I prefer it. Thought that moonlight is gorgeous
The Boss of Sauce Right now at SL 100 the AR on my MGS is over 650 which is just delicious. I haven't played anyone with a shield yet, though I'm really curious to see how much damage bleeds through, since the majority of the damage is magic.
Not that I don't like the Moonlight, I think I just prefer the Immolation overall
The Boss of Sauce Fair enough. I like them both, but I find that a capable player with a quick weapon can give me hassles with the Tinder.
I love this weapon. Every sorcerer should never leave home without 1. I use it on a dex/int hybrid build and it is just amazing.
I may have lost to you this time, but I'll get you next time. I mean I was using the handmaids dagger and soldering iron!
Lots of credit for wielding the soldering iron. In fact as I was watching I was thinking, "if somebody had the cajones to use the soldering iron against me, I think I would take out my un-upgraded soldering iron in response"
Haha! What are you using next, the Harpe? You're hilarious man I can't wait to fight you again :)
really nice battles, I enjoyed watching. I use a rather similar mage setup, although with more focus on dark spells. In any case, I'd recommend having a parry tool to switch for the candlestick, as the goto strategy for many people against Tinder mages is to play very agressive, in particular with weapons such as the Gotthard's.
Moose is the only one with the stones to do an immolation tinder weapon showcase.........
This could also be called the Klu Klux Klan build
Rolling back forever... Try another move, asma boy
Aw man, wish I had been able to fight this build, looks like a lot of fun.
I have never seen that weapon before.
Considering the Smouldering Iron reduces Estus potency, wouldn't it be an annoyance to casters trying to refill with Ashen Estus? It's effect that also raises equip load could also be good against heavy weapons/armor users.
That's true. Not that casters need to be any worse haha.
Wait, wearing a helmet with the sorcerer robes puts the hood on?? I knew it worked with the sorcerer headwear but didn't know it worked for other headwear! I never knew that before! What other helmets does it work with?? I need to know!

Aww man good times! I wrecked with this as a caster in arena mode. That weapon art tho 😂😂
I feel like just leveling up another 5 times for the 50 intelligence and putting on the Leo Ring would have been better. It'd have boosted physical damage by a good amount since the strength and dexterity were a bit lacking.
Someone's on fire... how many weapons left btw?
the DLC is coming soon xD
A lot actually. DLC hype!
Another great job there. I might just try this weapon again, I gave up on it before because I didn't have enough vitality to wield it.
Highly recommend!!
The Boss of Sauce
I definitely want to try.
KKK Cosplay saves the day.
want me to upgrade that candle stick ?
Niiice! Dood keep da great vids coming 👍😎
13:00 Giantdad confirmed
Actually... the use of 'faith' as a term is correct even if divine power is clearly visible in effect. Since divine effect is one of supplication to a higher power... which need not reciprocate in favor. So one have to have 'faith' that the higher power will do so.
I still don't like it haha.
could you use a staff in the left and get a buff like the candle stick gives?
I know this is years late, but yes you can. I use the crystal sage staff in the left and use the buff with immolation tinder in the right hand.
Also one-handing the tinders attacks like 1.4ish the range when its two handed, and is faster swings
Doesn't Lorian's Sword have the same weapon art?
Not quite but they're a bit similar. Lorian's goes through a stomp animation, has less range but hits a bit harder, especially if they're close enough.
um from personal use,and seeing some of the pronmagic players, magic in pvp is best used to create distance and put alot of pressure on ur oppenent.
Faith was called will in the german version of ds2.
Ooo I like that.
Nooo! Strafing! My... only... weakness!
I'm planning on doing a build like this, but when I wen't on battle calculator and did the same levels, it ended up with the lowest sl being 105 while your 100. Is this an error, or did they nerf one of the classes?
Oh! I'm using scholar ring which boosts intelligence by 5 points.
Moose Torrent Ah thanks, thought I was going mad.
Man this is really the weapon I wanted you to pvp with it but I didn't know the name
why do you not like the "faith" thing?
I'm confused about the scaling. If it's got E scaling in STR and C in DEX, with 18 STR/DEX on your character, how does the Knight's Ring boost AR to 563 but the Hunter's Ring only boosts it to 562? Shouldn't it work the other way around?
The thing is he was 2 handing it so because strength increases by 50% when 2 handed it gets a bigger boost
Ahhhhh, cool cool. Thanks!
I just got this weapon after playing the game four this and it's amazing the weapon is
Immolation Tinder=savage
The guy with the zweihander you blasted with magic, he did like no damage :/
After work I might just make another character that's a Mage. Out of all the DS games I nvr once used sorcery other than miracles. But that's it..
do you create a new character or move on to the next play through?
I have 8 characters and still haven't went to NG+
Do a build with one of the claw weapons!
You got it!
+Moose Torrent Cool, looking forward to it!
I could use this build and probably change some stars in order to make a battlemage...
2 things. 1: what armor? 2: use the Soldering iron
never mind the armor part
I probably will haha.
Moose Torrent That would be sexy
My court has a 238 magic buff
He always forgets sage ring, and why not 60 intelligence?
Ku Klux Klan member build, am I right? xD (the sass is strong in this one)
Why on earth does this weapon has a faith requirement?
Novin Sadighi because the wielders of the Immolation tindir were once The Holy knights
why dont you use the crown of dusk
Fashion Souls
Why the hood is on the helmet?
1:48
6:50 I'm sorry...but you aren't easily stabbing through somebody with this thing and then cleanly pulling it out. If you stab someone with this thing, realistically you just turned your opponent and weapon into a giant shish kebab.
true haha
I honestly can't see what you are doing with this build, but, don't upgrade the candlestick. It's pointless, it won't increase sorcery damage.
mfw a few days before he posted this, he posted him using bleed in PvP only to get ripped by this wep.. Heu.
And win.......
how can I pvp with you moose?
Check out my Tuesday's with torrent and friend me on Facebook. I post times there.
Or just be around level 100 on PS4, I've played against Moose at least 6 times in the last month just randomly picking up his summon sign, or he picking up mine (PSN: iamamish)
Oh wow I recognize that name haha (iamamish). I was always like, if he's amish how is he playing Dark Souls?
Michael Stack I am around level 100 but his summon sign never shows up, so I had to ask.
audrey spino Hmmm, maybe it is the time of day at which you are playing. I'm at between SL 92 and 104 on all my characters, and as I mentioned, I've run into him quite a few times. Sounds like Moose's original advice re: Facebook is probably better advice then. :)
I see this build as a KKK Wizard. Not sure why.
@Seth Brooking This made my day🤣
NICE BUILD!!!!!!
how does spell buff work?
the stat under the weapons damage? its like (basedamage * spellbuff) / 100 I think its different for each spell though
Parrys always seem like cheap garbage. Most of the time I see people getting their ass beat, and the only skill they have is parrying ,but really. That's the only skill they need.
Agree
Thankfully it's easy to punish a parry spammer with a backstab.
Nice KKK cosplay ^^
What's your armor set ??
1:40
Nice pun
What helm is that?
1:40
What platform do you play on?
Ps4
He's right PS4
With this weapon, can I find a girl?

The durability is actually near 100%
torrent pls... why dis pun :/
Which pun?
vid-description :D was a joke tho

Moose Torrent Btw I really appreciate your combat style. Very versatile and you dont go with the meta which is big plus :D
