I love the way you close your eyes and smile while bobbing your head. That’s how I always feel when listening to this album!! And that guitar break in Piece of Shit gets me too!
It's funny you mention the Scott Pilgrim sound reference on Oh No as they played a gig a few weeks back where Edgar Wright and Simon Peg was present watching, they announced the song with 'We are Sex Box-Bomb...1-2-3!'. I can hear so much Kate Bush in Rhian's style of singing, even in her early solo stuff it is there too, the weird and wonderful places they both take their voices (and songs).
Also, Illuminati Hotties latest album - Let me do one more - is definitely worth checking out and if you want to go heavy then Malevolence have a new album out on the 20/5/22 called Malicious intent. If the three singles are anything to go by then it is going to be a beast of a project.
@@supernormal1143 I appreciate the compliment, thanks! I'm still using a Nokia 7.2 phone at the moment so nothing too fancy, I think the light boxes help though.
😂 I just realised I forgot to cut out about a minute of dead time when I googled something and closed my spotify by accident. oops. Aaaand I missed another wasted bit later in the video again. hahah. I need to edit these better but I was just so rushed.
Glad you liked it! A shot of fun in these difficult times for many people. They are in their late 20’s and are from the Isle of Wight which is off the south coast of England, protecting the harbours at Portsmouth and Southampton.
Loving your reactions! I especially appreciated how well you were able to vibe with Wolf Alice's albums. Nice to see someone really "get it." If you haven't heard it, I would highly recommend listening to the album Glow On by Turnstile.
I thought I knew this band and album pretty well, but you had several fresh and insightful comments that really stood out. Now I like it even more. Great video - thanks!
Normally I don’t really know what Reaction videos are about but yours are just cool to watch! Like your way of commenting the lyrics and also interpreting them in a quite personal way. My recommendation is Dark Storm by The Jezabels. Have a nice rest of the week :)
I will go as far to say this is one of the all-time great albums. Yup. I just said it. Deal with it. I'm a 64 yo Beatle guy, amateur musician who maybe discovers a few very good songs a year. An entire album? Hasn't happened to me since, well, maybe B-52's red album? This band is very, very special. If they decide to work hard for a couple of years and then hang it up, retire, and live a great life I wouldn't blame them. On the other hand, these guys are the real deal and I can see them being Super Stars for a decade and then punching out a couple albums after "taking a break". If their second album is as good as this one, watch out.
Another band to have a look at is Laveda. Their first album, What Happens After, was released in 2020 to universal acclaim in my house. It’s a shoegazey/dream pop mix with some interesting musical stylings. They’re from Albany in New York State and have their second album slated for release later this year.
Great review , it wouldn't of been if you didn't like wet leg tho, lol,,! There's power & personality in the album , & their performance on stage is full on fun, everyone in the audience loves them ,, !
Another band I’d suggest are Laveda. Their first album, What Happens After, was universally acclaimed in my house. Shoegazey/Dream Poppy/Indy - all sorts of stuff in there👍 Second album is slated for later this year and I’m excited to see where Ali and Jake ‘go’. They’re based in Albany, New York. Just got my T Shirt of Wolf Alice superimposed onto a jar of Vegemite to mark the Australian dates.
Hinds - The Prettiest Curse is a wonderful album if you need any suggestions. 4 women from Spain rocking the heck out. And super interesting vocal styles from the band members
Their live shows are just like one big party .
Absolutely loved the album from front to back!

definitely how it feels! it's an album that is fun and energising to listen to with just enough quirkiness to make it a little special.
my daughter told me of them. it is the first new Vinyl in my collection...so much fun!

You might just get this reaction! one of my best mates has been pressing me to listen to Turnstile lately too!
Listened to about a third of Glow On, good stuff.

Thank you so much! that means a lot. how you found my tiny channel if you dont like reactions, I have no idea😅 but I'm glad you did.
@@supernormal1143 haha stumbled across the first Wolf Alice one and could relate :D
Wetleg - UK based band, they hail from Isle of White of the South Coast of England
On the midweek chart Wet Leg’s album is outselling all others by a factor of 4 so it’s certain to be the UK number 1 this week👍
I saw that you haven't posted in a while. I hope you come back!

@@supernormal1143 Sadly no as I live in the N West of England. But I will be there in spirit withy my Wolf Alice/Vegemite Tee😁

awesome, thanks for the suggestion. I am struggling to find time to do these at the moment but I will add it to the list
Why did you not show your reaction to the “got a big d” 😂😂 that’s like the funny part of that song
Good review. Brilliant band.
