Laura really is one of Marvel's best characters IMO. It'd really be something if they went Old Man Logan/New Wolverine in the movies. Those foot claws would be tough live action though.

Laura is not his clone but his biological daughter. Tony stark later reveals in the comics that Laura has 50% dna of Sarah Kinney and 50% dna of Logan, making her his and sarah's biological daughter.

I dont think she calls her mom because at this point, it would just be awkward. I can see laura responding to that like " .... eeehh, no. Calling me mom now is too weird. I,d never be able to get used to it after letting you call me laura all this time. if I had raised you from birth, then you could call me mom, but if you call me that now, it,ll seem forced, like you have to do it. I didn't call logan dad and we got along fine. he never pushed me to call him that, so I didn't. "

Her adventures in x-force have her as a killer, new x-men where she was an outcast, avengers academy where she was finally accepted. Don't read her in all new x-men or wolverines as they have not developed her at all.

There's also the sub plot of her trying to get closer to Daken, as she feels like he's the only family she has left. Wolverines has been a very good book for X-23 fans. I will, however, second the notion that being in All New X-Men hasn't really done much for her. She got a new costume and started dating Angel, but that's pretty much it. I wouldn't say not to read it, because it's a damn good book in general, but if you're specifically looking for X-23 stories it's highly skipable. She was also in Avengers Arena, but nothing really important happened there for her.

When they finally reboot the X-Men cinematic universe, they should make X-23 the flagship for the stand alone films; have her journey for her "father" carry her into other films like Deadpool, Gambit, ect..

X-23 is a serious badass, but even though Wolverine is dead for bullshit reasons (aside from Old Man Logan), she will always the the second best at what she and Wolverine do, abd what they do isn't very nice.
I picked this trade up when it first came out. I liked how they used the time intervals to show how efficient she was. It is a bit crazy how they made her story even darker than Wolverine's. Great job on the script and reed @comicstorian.
This is great. I've actually been a pretty big fan of X-23 since the X-Men Evolution tv series, but when I got into reading comics I never really found any good stories to read and went on to read about a lot of other characters. I was really upset that she became a member of the All-New X-Men, even though she was the perfect Wolverine replacement for that team of young mutants it just felt cheap, like the writers didn't really know what to do with her and were like "just shuffle her off with the other teen mutants." Though it's a sad tale I really enjoyed this story. Hopefully she turns up in Secret Wars because I am eagerly awaiting her being a bigger part of post-Secret Wars Marvel Universe.
I like this origin better than her original 1 from the X-men Evolution cartoon (which she originated from). I'm glad to see more Marvel content on this channel & hope to see more X-men stories retold.
I would love to learn more about this character. Like the relationship between Laura and Logan, I would be amazed over the fact that "Hey wolverine your a has a daughter who happens o be your clone!"
