Francesca Beauman from "Fran's Book Shop" chats to author Candice Carty-Williams about her debut novel, "Queenie". Filmed at Persephone Books in London.
Love that she said all of this and she wrote a book like this bc there aren't many books that portray the mind of a black women deep down and how we actually have feelings and go through all this shit but everyone doesn't allow us to and just portrays us as strong. Also as a Jamaican girl myself I loved that she wrote this about a black Jamaican girl bc I feel like there aren't many books about black girls who are Jamaican surrounding topics like this
