  • Aluminess Products is a company out of San Diego, CA that manufactures and installs quality aluminum products for trucks, vans, and SUV’s. We had the opportunity to sit down with the founder Dave Hoskins and talk about the history of Aluminess. The people behind this family owned company are dedicated to their craft, stand by their products and truly enjoy what they do. We later got a factory tour where we got to see the team manufacturing all of the roof racks, tire carriers, ladders, light bars, nerf bars, boxes, bike racks, winches and lots of bumpers. Of course, we got a tour of their company camper van, a 4x4 Mercedes Sprinter. This off the grid camper van is equipped with all the necessary storage accessories as well as a pop-up roof for a second story whenever needed.

Yes, great product!!!......but production times too slow today. Worked one on one with Dave several years ago for a specific need on our Sportsmobile build (rear bumper) and was fantastic!!!!! Today.......4 month wait to get any product and not nearly as personable. Great though on getting parts like nuts and bolts!!!

Today this company (aluminess) told me to look elsewhere for my overland products simply because I asked them to be straight with me on delivery times. I have ordered from them before and paid in full up front as they require. They gave me a delivery date and I made plans around that date. They didn’t make the date and they didn’t communicate that to me. I called them. They gave me a new date which they also didn’t meet. I cancelled the order at that point and then they tried to keep some of my money. I had calmed down enough to consider ordering from them again but not until I get some kind of commitment from them on delivery. After all, authorizing nearly 7k in payment is a pretty big commitment isn’t it? Instead of giving me any kind of reassurance they told me to beat it. Their products may be good....they kinda have to be given their price, but their company is not. Definitely don’t recommend.
