CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Peyton (Liam Neeson) wins a prize for his girlfriend, Julie (Frances McDormand), then flies into a rage when the carny won't hand it over.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Neglecting Julie (Frances McDormand), his lawyer lady friend, Dr. Peyton Westlake (Liam Neeson) works feverishly to perfect his latest invention -- artificial skin that could be used to treat burn victims. Peyton himself falls victim to an explosion when one of Julie's crooked clients sends his henchmen to sniff out an incriminating document that's been left in Westlake's lab. Hideously disfigured and left for dead, the good doctor receives an experimental medical treatment that renders him super-strong, impervious to pain and prone to heightened fits of rage. Rebuilding his lab into an underground hideout, Westlake begins using his synthetic skin to impersonate various characters and engineer his revenge against those who destroyed his life. Reconnecting with Julie, however, becomes the unsightly vigilante's biggest challenge.

I love when the camera pans between them as they scream -- one in pain, one in rage, and one in shock.
If I were technologically up to the task, I would splice the part you're talking about into one of those old Bud commercials where a bunch of guys say Waaassssssuuuup? or Wasaaaaaaabbbbiii? But, have their screaming faces instead... could be good!
That is an awesome idea rofl...
Classic raimi craziness
“Pain, Rage and Terror”.....Amy favorite parts of Darkman. 😊
MrFlipperInvader792 can’t wait to see that same craziness in Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness!
This is the most Sam Raimi scene of all time. A true masterpiece.
What I love about this scene is that they leave the question whether or not Liam was behind the line or not unanswered
i think he steped forwerd on the last throw as his emoctions were raised when he said freak
He definitely crossed A line.
No, he said he was behind it, so there you go.
@@Embrachu The only line he crossed was the metaphorical line of excitement and anger.
I don't know, personally I wouldn't really trust someone who is mentally unstable but I also wouldn't trust a worker who looks like they don't care about their job, just saying anything to get you to leave. Like in some fast food restaurants where workers just wanna get their day over with, saying anything to get you to leave. However, since the girlfriend didn't correct him on whether he did pass the line, I'd say liam's character was telling the truth.
TAKE THE F*CKING ELEPHANT! Greatest. Quote. Ever.
I'm the 420th like on this comment,

@@jamesl.anderson1384 It's "forgive me".

OMFG...I forgot how funny this was...laughed my ass off by watching this scene...
Liam Neeson didnt lie when he said that Darkman was much fun for him...
I mean come on! He has the time of his life, screaming and shouting and we are enjoying it xD
*still rolls on the floor*
***** Yeah, he said that even with the long make-up chair sessions he still remembers how much fun it was doing this.
This scene is cathartic for those of us who have been ripped off as kids/teens by those crooked carnival freaks. Always bending the 'rules' to ensure you don't get the best prize, despite clearly winning based off the vague rules written on their stall.
as a carnie i am so offended
Showing the 3 different types of screams is actually art.
Comedy elevated to art ❤
When Liam Neeson tells you to take the f*@$ing elephant, you better take that f*@$ing elephant!
it's neeson
***** Thanks ;)
*Fucking
2:05 To quote ERod, the Blockbuster Buster:
"No?! Whaddya mean *NO* woman?? He just tossed that guy like he was a salad! *Take the f#*&ing elephant* doesn't sound that demanding, considering what he could potentially do to you!"
@@krystalharwood8664 pfft says that on the decription as it said "Neeson" genius 1:54
why is this scene so cool and unique? more movies needa be like this
Purple Potion you’re right about that.
Hey
1:55 LOL! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Because Sam Raimi made it
Sam Raimi.
Sam Raimi's unique staging, cutting, panning and zooming was apparent in the EVIL DEAD and later in everything he directed. It was the perfect style for a comic book movie and it is what made the original SPIDERMAN such a great film.
yeah, I noticed that style too.
I might be the only one that does not like the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies. I love Sam Raimi, The Evil Dead Trilogy, Darkman and a lot of his other stuff, but not any of his Spider-Man films.
@@AK-47ISTHEWAY wtf? 🤦🏻♂️
@@atwunz Is it hard for you to comprehend that I have higher standards in movies? The Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy I thought was the worst superhero franchise of all time. Deal with it.
@@AK-47ISTHEWAY Do you always talk down to people?
This scene is gold.Its timeless.
I lost it at "TAKE THE F***ING ELEPHANT!" XD
Rofl
I lost it and laughed at 1:55! LOL! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
I died too when he said that
Lmao
Do you think it was....TAKEN!!?!?!
❤❤
"Take the fucking elephant!" is one of my favorite lines in any movie ever.
And yet he actually ran off with it in the end🤷♂️😂😂😂
2:15 "Payton! Wait! You still got my elephant!!"
Hahaha
Because he crying like a little girl 🙋♀️
'What is it about the dark? What secret does it hold?' Not many people could deliver a line like that without it sounding cheesy. Neeson nails it. Great movie!
One of the things I love most about this movie is that nobody in the editing room thought that last repetition of "A freak!" was overkill. You wonder how long the announcer is gonna sit there calling out that phrase. I like to imagine him continuing until one of the other carnies walks over and smacks him in the head to get him unstuck.
Love the sequence beginning at 1:46, you don't see stuff like this in movies anymore~ Love Sam Raimi's style~..
You're goddamn right.
It's straight out of evil dead
The three consecutive screams are the best! lol
Its one of the worstscenes in flm history
from 1:46 is actual footage of Liam Neeson when he sees a Black guy!
*He's a FREAK ladies and gentlemen, he's a FREAK!*
Lmmfho
I lost it and laughed at 1:55! LOL! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Subtle
"A FREAK"
"A FREAK"
"A FREAK"
"A FREAK"....
"See the dancing freak! Pay five bucks!"
I love how the carnie is giving off a total under-reaction to everything. And it only makes Peyton overreact even MORE. "...no way." "Why don't you just uh.....get lost, pal" lmfao
Yeah. The carnie is one of the most interesting performances by a bit character ive seen. Every other movie would have had him acting more obviously obnoxious. Its more like hes anoyed than anything.

This movie pretty much got made because of the success of Batman 1989.
I just love the way he runs away, still holding the elephant x).
hey, that's my elephant. give it back !
This scene alone should have won an Oscar.
This scene gave me the biggest sense of dread of anything in this film. Once it starts with all the bright light and colours and their light-hearted banter you are immediately on edge about how it's all going to go wrong. And the way it does is amazing!
I love when the carnival guy goes, "NO WAY" and when the elephant trumpets lol
Lol 🙂
5 people didn't take the f*cking elephant...
Lol!!
33 now. Sad times.
33 did take the elephant, they were standing right here with their girlfriends lol ;)
It's 41 now. They didn't take it.
Now 43, AVGN said that this was weird at the same time awesome
For the US cable TV version they remove "take the f*cking elephant" and replaced it with "take the fuzzy elephant". Our friends and I would look at each other and say "take the fuzzy elephant!" often. Heh.
Liam Neeson’s acting in this movie was top notch.
THIS IS HILARIOUS! The fact that he didn't win an Oscar for that scene is a disgusting crime against cinema!
Then again, if you look into how it got started, you'd realise just how shady the whole thing is.
This is the prequel to "Taken." What we don't know was that the guy running the game booth arranged for Liam Neeson's daughter to be kidnapped as revenge for his stolen elephant.

Russ Hawkins Hi sorry I know I've meen MIA for a long time. New videos will be posted soon. I'm editing them now.
Anyone here after James Rolfe's review of the Darkman game? lol
Yeah, this got recommended and I had to check it out
James deserved that elephant.
I'd be lying if I said 'no'.
Yes lol
Yep 👍
This was Raimi's first superhero film. He was testing his feet in the water to see if it was the right fit for him, and it was. Lots of the camerawork, editing and tropes in this film would later be seen in the Spiderman films he directed.
This is the best video to show someone with absolutely no context

I laughed so hard at this scene in 1996 and I'm laughing so hard right now in 2019. Truly amazing progress.
We share the same sense of humor, I guess. This scene is on-of-a-kind.
"He's a FREAK, ladies and gentlemen! He's a FREAK!"
Neeson: The pink elephant, if you please.
Ultra-apathetic carny: pfft....no way.
Neeson: RAGE!!!
Elephant quickly.
2:19 she runs after him
I WANT THE ELEPHANT THOUGH
01:50 same shot from Spiderman
This scene is a perfect blend of Evil Dead and Dead or Alive
Spiderman
Moral of the story: Never stand in the way between a man and his pink elephant.
???😂🤣
There's this really cute moment where, even before Peyton loses it and snaps, Julie is clearly concerned about Peyton's mental state despite him hitting all three bottles.
You do realize that its almost impossible to actually win this game right? The bottles are weighted or something where they don't fall over even if hit by the baseball. So Peyton is putting some real force into this - partly because his adrenal gland is all whacked up. Which is also a big part of his unstoppable rage moments. So yes, it is an indication that something is up with him.
Never go to a carnival with Liam
Robert Bogan never go to a carnival without him is more like it!!!
Unless he force you to take the 🤬 elephant 😆😂🤣
Watching Liam Neeson running away crazily with a pink elephant is something I never thought I'd see.

“Ulephunt... Quickly.”
Underrated part of the scene is the carnie dude running the stand. He says his lines so nonchalantly, I laugh every time
It sticks out dont it. Who talks like that? Lol
You're right. Great casting. An example of how attention to detail can add so much to a scene.
Not so underrated that someone made that observation, many years ago.
Two Eliminators.
Who's here after the latest AVGN episode?
Me
Me too!
Yup!
Still one of the best movie scenes ever.
1:57 😂😂 best scene ever
Liam did a fantastic job with this character
Thank you for enlightening me, AVGN.
I just love the way Raimi is able to use B movie style shooting to make good films. Tarantino too.
Rami is a fu@3in' genius. The directing is top notch. The sound the ball makes when it's whizzing through the air is phenomenal. Seriously, this is some of the best editing, directing, sound design of all time. It's hilarious as well.
It's Sam Raimi all the way. His unique style of filmmaking is what makes the movie memorable.
Love that the people around just carried on like they didn’t notice a screaming guy throw someone through a wall.
"but i was behind the line, I was..haha..standing right here with my girlfriend.....*stern look*...NOW, the pink elephant....IF you please" jesus, I don't know what it is about Liam Neeson. But he just bleeds and sweats intimidation. Like it comes natural. Can't believe I(and so many people)had to see Taken to realize that....
TAKE THE FUCKING ELEPHANT!!!
I love how his expression changes from rage to remorse after realising what he had done.
Liam Neesons best movie performance
Mikael Jansson I think he also said in an interview its his favorite role he has ever done..because how much freedom he had in his character and all the screaming he got to do
Liam Neeson getting unnecessarily pressed over a stuffed pink elephant will never not be hilarious.
Yet the elephant was Taken 😂😂😂😂
The way the guy says "no way" always makes me laugh for some reason.
AVGN introduced me to this movie, particularly, this scene.
I enjoyed Darkman before AVGN, but his tribute had me dying of laughter

Pain, Rage, Terror! My favorite scene of the entire movie!!
Angry video game nerd got me to this video 😁👍
1:57 You gotta love the marriage of all three senses combining the faces of pain, anger, and fear all the same time !!! LOL
IT MATTERS!
The carnival worker's delivery makes this even funnier. He's also quite obviously ADR'd for most of the scene, probably because of all the noise in the background.
James Rolfe sent me here.
