Not only Ian Flynn's dialogue is leagues ahead of the Meta Era games, but it seems the VAs received better directions. He's always been great at that balance, making sure Sonic keeps up snarky banter that makes you smile while also getting him focused and serious when he needs to be. I am really surprised seeing a proper serious side of Rodger’s Sonic. Truth be told, Drummond will always be my favorite (that is just my personal opinion), but seeing Rodger with proper voice direction (that isn’t the light-hearted take of Boom) has immediately bumped him up on my Sonic voice ratings. After waiting for something like this for over 10 years, all I really have to say is good job, keep it up, and please for the love of God keep it like this, or improve it further.

Honestly this cutscene is just one with full audio there's a cutscene with Amy we need to listen to but so far I'm liking that Roger has more than one tone with Sonic in Colours or Boom this tone don't cut it but for this game it works really well and Sonic sounds mature in a good way.

This Cutscene is giving me even more Shadow of the Colossus Vibes then I've been getting.. The way it's an Unseen entity telling sonic to destroy stuff.. Makes me think this game is going to have that same plot twist... But with a Sonic style solution..

Looks like Roger CAN do this well. Sonic sounds awesome. Probably it's really important to have more complicated plot and dialogue system. At least more complicated than "underwear worn by salad" (hello Colors) and other stuff like this.

I hate that I’m in the minority here, but I think Roger could at least pitch up his voice a bit to match Sonic’s personality of being a “too cool for you” kind of attitude. The writing’s very good though, with no gags in sight, which is better & I get the more serious, more darker tone is Sonic’s past actions coming to haunt him, which is awesome! He just needs to pitch the voice up a bit & it’d be perfect, in my opinion. Still, haven’t seen too much of the game, so maybe it’ll grow on me…
Damn Roger finally sounds good. Just like Jason Griffith it took him about 5-10 years to perfect the sonic voice and knowing SEGA and sonic team after this game Sonic will be replaced again with a newbie and we’ll have to start from scratch again.
I gotta be honest I’m not a big fan of the voice direction. I get that it’s trying to be serious and most of the cutscene is alright, sometimes it’s just too low. It doesn’t sound like Sonic. I’m not asking for it to be like over the top snarky Sonic but Sonic’s voice has never really been that low before has it?
The shape of the eyes are slightly different and I like it. It doesn't look like generic modern sonic entirely. His conveying of emotion and body language is a lot better too.

Probably it's really important to have more complicated plot and dialogue system. At least more complicated than "underwear worn by salad" (hello Colors) and other stuff like this.

that's what i've been thinking holy shittt! Unleashed was what brought me into Sonic and it means SOO MUCH TO ME. For this game to possibly beat that list for me, would be just so sick. Honestly, I do feel like it may second unleashed ONLY BECAUSE of my own nostalgia sorta love for Unleashed, but yeah. So pumped for this game.

I hate that I’m in the minority here, but I think Roger could at least pitch up his voice a bit to match Sonic’s personality of being a “too cool for you” kind of attitude. The writing’s very good though, with no gags in sight, which is better & I get the more serious, more darker tone is Sonic’s past actions coming to haunt him, which is awesome! He just needs to pitch the voice up a bit & it’d be perfect, in my opinion. Still, haven’t seen too much of the game, so maybe it’ll grow on me…

Damn Roger finally sounds good. Just like Jason Griffith it took him about 5-10 years to perfect the sonic voice and knowing SEGA and sonic team after this game Sonic will be replaced again with a newbie and we’ll have to start from scratch again.

I gotta be honest I’m not a big fan of the voice direction. I get that it’s trying to be serious and most of the cutscene is alright, sometimes it’s just too low. It doesn’t sound like Sonic. I’m not asking for it to be like over the top snarky Sonic but Sonic’s voice has never really been that low before has it?

The shape of the eyes are slightly different and I like it. It doesn't look like generic modern sonic entirely. His conveying of emotion and body language is a lot better too.
