It's definitely a sweet Trans Am, I've had a 76 and 79 always love the style and the 79 Trans Am was the first car ever painted so I got a love for them.
Thank you very much I greatly appreciate that 🙏. I've got a few paint jobs I'm doing over the winter, I'm going to put money aside from those and use that get this Trans Am restored. I would love to be able to grow my channel to the point where I could travel around and help my viewers restore and build cars for them that contain amazing memories. I think it would be an awesome thing to be able to do for people.

Oh yeah it's beautiful TransAm it would look all nice redone in the white and gold. Oh nice 79 Firebird what colour was it? I got a few of these I got a 76 and 79 and also an 83 Trans Am too. Thanks I greatly appreciate that
Oh yeah, I used to have a a76 and 79. The first car I ever painted was a 79 Trans Am I would definitely love to pick up another 79 or 76 Trans am again
Thanks, most would shy away from T top models but those are the ones that I like the most! You should check the VIN & trim tag or build sheet? I think this car most be a very low build to be white with a/c & T tops and isn't a Daytona pace car.
@@MrJaybody-vd6eb I definitely like those T top models. I live close to the mountains out here in Alberta taking a drive through the mountains with the t-tops off makes for a fantastic time. I have an 82 Camaro that I'm looking at picking up. Going to do a roof swap on it from hardtop to t-top. Yeah that 81 I think would be a lower production being white and gold. Definitely did not see too many with that colour combination around.
@fullyloadedkustoms Yeah! I can't remember the last time I saw a white T top model that wasn't a Indy 500 pace car or the 81 Daytona 500 pace car. But I do like those as well but to kinda have something even a little more rarer would be so sweet! The good things about these cars is you can get just about everything you need to get them up & running and look nice and for it to be a Canadian car the rust it does have from what I seen from the video doesn't look that bad? If you don't have to deal with the suffrage or rear springs & shock mounts and shackles, you'll be home free in no time. And if you wanna keep the 301 turbo. There's a guy who does nice up grades for them that seem to work nice! If or when you get it going, it'll be a "show stopper" for sure!
I've seen those Indy pace cars done up really nice. In the same town this one is located a guy has an 81 Firebird that's done as a tribute to I believe Dale Earnhart but it's done up red with nascar decals etc looks really cool
I wish I could find one of those around me …. That’s my other bucket list car … I had a 81 firebird that I sold cause the engine blew … when I was 18….
I'm really hoping to be able to pick this Trans Am up in the spring. It would definitely look great all redone in the white and gold specs. Nice what color.was your 81 Firebird?
@@fullyloadedkustoms it was black with a tan interior, auto, 3.8 v6 …. Tried swapping it out to a 301 but I was young , dumb and the internet wasn’t a thing so I had no resources, couldn’t get it running and sold it … $200 …🤦♂️
@68hotrodrs ohhh wow $200 for a Trans Am I would have loved to have seen those days. I remember being 19 in high school grade 10 back in 1999-2001 and looking at a road worthy blue vinyl top 69 dodge charger with a 440 for $5000. Haha, I really wish you could find deals like that now a days lol. Even remember a buddy in 2004 selling a red 80 Trans Am set to go for like $3200
I didnt realize you were an ontario boy, not sure if you know the name but Dave Connery airbrushed my 91 RS and your 85 is a beauty! Great memory to the 85 in the video- Mark
Hey thanks , Yeah my hometown is Pembroke Ontario just an hour outside of Ottawa there. I Moved out to Alberta around 2004ish. Haha I've definitely discovered a ton of Classic vehicles out here since being this way. I don't know the name of hand what kind of airbrushing did they do on your 91 RS Camaro?
The parts alone will exceed $10,000. A rebuild on the engine and trans $5000. I think the restoration shop was quite reasonable if they could really do all that for $20,000 in labor. somehow im suspecting there is more than $10,000 in parts & materials and it would run over that $10,000 quickly. Maybe you can just get the chrome exhaust tips but the rear system with tips is $1000. I have a 79 10th anniversary 400 4spd trans am an know what all those pieces cost to restore one like that.
100% biggest expense is paying someone else's time for them to do all the work. When I was working at the restoration shop in Calgary. The shop at that time (2018) was charging out $20k to do a repaint same color. Add in quarter panel replacement etc it's up over $30K easy. I believe they had the $20K quote for this car back around 2005-2008ish. I do all the metal work/paint body/interior etc. Allows me to keep the costs down on projects.
Definitely, that is my goal for the UA-cam channel, when I can grow the channel to a million subscribers my plan is to help travel and help my subscribers build and restore their cars. Using all the sponsorships that I get for my videos. If you have ever seen Jimmy darts UA-cam videos I would like to do the same kinda thing, but my version of that would be to help subscribers build and restore their cars.
@fullyloadedkustoms that would be cool. You really do stand out as a UA-cam channel with the more in depth longer videos, not getting them in the UK and only usually seeing them on TV/Movies its great to see them in more detail. I was fairly lucky to drive a imported 1983 Firebird recently albeit not a very clean example and it's definitely something I'd consider if one came up at a reasonable price
I still have the 67 Impala SS convertible and64 impala as well. I just recently moved I'm looking to bring the vehicles over to the new place here right away.
100% what I was thinking it needs the 400, I've got a 400 out of a 74 Trans Am sourced for it in Edmonton. On the Trans Am groups that's what most people where saying too the 4.9L lagged no horse Power. 400 the way to go with a classic shaker hood
Noooooo! Keep the turbo 301. Easy to get a 13 second car with better mileage too. The hood with the turbo lights is just as cool as the shaker. Have both and they are awesome at night. Grab a 79 for a shaker car.
@@jct300m There’s a group that has successfully raced them for years and they’ve proved they aren’t junk. I remember when they said the Pontiac 400 was junk.
