Amazing, I never thought of sending midi yo it, I just use it as a spatial vintage piano. Great sounding piano.

Nice. Just bought CS and will hook it up with my Digitakt (DT) and save "presets" as CC values to the DT patterns.

Hey man, great video. Do you know how would you change the cc messages out on the reface to use the effect controlls as a midi controller for another synth?

Hello Vincent, first of all - thank you for this rare kind of video (with some explanation). I have the question: I don't have CP now (i have reface DX) and wondering, can I manipulate with in\out midi channels as well as local setting without powering on\off CP (to get into settings mode), just using midi commands from external controller? I wish to use CP as midi keyboard to drive 2 other synths as well as use it as sound source and I have to switch channels and local mode during performance. Regards!

No I don't think this will work. You will need some sort of sequencer or other device in between the CP and your other synths. Check out squarp pyramid

@@vincent_van_nunu The point is there are some SysEx messages that can turn on\off LOCAL mode, it will be enough for begining, just curious have you any experience with it... And about your idea: yes I have device that I can plug in between and it will substitute channels etc... So main concern is "Local mode".

@@vladimirvoevodich623 I will have to double check but I believe turning local on and off also requires powering up to the settings menu

I think that Vincent missed the exact question, one that's on my mind too. In the Midi data table you can easily see how to send cc messages. But there's also the midi paramater change table wich is supposed to show how to change the t/r channels and local control. But I don't understand a "bit" of that.. starting with adress high mid low. Anybody's got some advice? Thanks I also would like to know what to do to set up a knob to control a certain parameter on another device, its total wizardry to me ;-)

What I am trying to Figure out is how to get the YC to effectively interact with the auxiliary input on a Behringer Model D.
The thing I'm having a challenge with is the YC MIDI Out appears to have to be plugged directly into the Behringer Model D MIDI In to get the two to function together as far as the triggering is concerned and being able to run the two units plus other sounds on MIDI Channel 1 through a controller keyboard.
One thing I'm trying to do is use the Behringer Model D Auxiliary Input to function mainly with the YC Farfisa combo organ sound to add additional filtering and envelope controls.

Hi Vincent , great video. Do you happen to know what can be the reason of problems in connecting reface CP to MacBook Air through usb? I don't see input MIDI. It reacts on keystrokes and knobs but the MIDI data is not received (in any software: MainStage, Garageband, Audio MIDI setup). I've turned the MIDI control ON in reface of course.

Do you know if I can control the CP using a midi controller keyboard, and the use the CP keys to control a synth? If yes, Would I still be able to control the CP patches using the CP knobs?

    • @vladimirvoevodich623
      @vladimirvoevodich623 2 роки тому +4

Hello man, yes. You can control Yamaha CP using external keyboard, you have to setup "input channel" (lets say ch1) the same as your external keyboard transmits. Same time you can set "Local control" setting to disabled, so Yamaha will not trigger sounds using it's own keybed, but same time you have to setup "output channel" (let's say ch2) and setup your another synth receive also to this channel. To get more about channels and local control please check Reface user guide.

@@GS-uk3ml Read the manual, page 39, it's possible. Whether it will actually suit your needs, I can't say, that's why I said, "in theory." So the short answer is yes. The longer answer may depend on what you really intend to do, so check the manual

@@vincent_van_nunu Okay, thanks but don't have the keyboard nor the manual. It sounds like it will be too difficult for me to use this as a midi keyboard if it can`t be explained easily here.

hey hello! issue here. I'm using a midi keyboard plugged into the RefaceCP (that works as a sequencer), now I'd like to send a midi cable via USB into the DAW in my computer. My DAW recognizes the CP and all the keys I'm hitting in the CP, but nothing is seen if I play it through the midi keyboard. Any idea how to solve this? thanks a lot!

Try turning local control off. Also try turning midi control off as well. Another option would be use a dedicated midi Interface connected to your computer / daw

unfortunately, the midi out is not usable as a midi through or in/out mix.
