Hi Todd, I really enjoy your videos! Bought the zs100 a few weeks ago and love the quality of the pictures it is taking! A few of your videos on the zs100 and a couple other review videos sealed the deal for me. Got the camera on clearance for 539CAD and really like it!
The trick to the zs100 that i learned from dpreview forums is you have to tune it to your taste. I took shots and notes on the settings. Kept tweaking until i got it where i wanted. Also, zs100 seems to be really sharp up till 100mm. After that, it falls off. Not bad but less sharp, which is normal. Lastly using photoshop express as my mobile editor of choice brings out the best in the images.
A helpful comparison, thank you. The most important spec for me is how long I can leave the lens open for in Artistic Nightscape mode. That is, not pressing down the shutter button the whole time or touching the camera until the exposure's finished. I think I saw that it's 120 sec in the 100, and 60 sec in the 200, but can't find out for sure. Is that right?
You're welcome. There is an Economy setting in the settings. Wrench (spanner) icon top of second page. It lets you set the time to sleep to up to ten minutes. I tested the 5 minute setting and the lens didn't retract until the camera went to sleep.
@@ToddBannor Thanks Todd. I've since found that both models only go to 60 sec in Artistic Nightscape mode. Great tip - I will try it! (for taking photos of ghost mushrooms).
Hey Todd! just stumbled on your channel and love the videos! I'm tossing up between the Lumix TZ110, TZ220, TZ220D and the Canon G7X Mark iii. Have you got any recommendations on the best one? I want crisp clean images, i don't care about video capability too much, but will use it probably and overall want a lasting, good quality build. Keep up the good work!
Thank you! I think it comes down to what is most important to you. You get a long zoom range with the Lumix cameras, but they won't do as well in low light compared to the Canon, which has less zoom range, but a significantly faster lens. You also may want to check out the Canon G5X Mark II, because it has a viewfinder like the Lumixs, which the G7III lacks. It also has a bit more telephoto on the long end of the zoom, but keeps the same f2.8 aperture as the G7III.

Great comparison, thanks. The Z100 has a "control ring" around the lens. Does the Z200 have that also, or if not how do you accomplish the same control functions?
It's not easy. Do as follows: Put the camera in P Mode Press Disp, right cursor and AF/AE Lock at the same time and turn camera on Press left cursor, Menu Set and AF/ AE Lock at the same time to get to the error codes and status, including shutter count. If you just see error codes, click the menu button and you should see the power up and shutter count.

It does have the control ring. Operationally it's very similar.
