Yaaay! I applaud you for considering to embrace your natural roots :-) Locking your hair is a lifestyle change that comes with great responsibility. I recommend you begin your natural journey with your loose natural hair and explore and embrace your natural state. You can do the big chop or begin trimming your ends a little at a time until all of the permed hair is removed. If you want locs right away, it may be best to cut off all the permed ends. Your natural hair and permed hair are two different textures and your locs will look best if the texture is consistent. I hope this helps.

Beautiful! I'll have to stick with my loc knots. I don't think I have enough volume for barrel rolls. My locs are probably too thick in some places.
