Ahh crap, I forgot to mention batch training. That's something else I really like
I really like it too, it makes aoe3 feel unique. but the batch-training does slightly favor defensive stategies.
I liked the batch training & batches in "the settlers 5" better, though unit movement may become clunky using it. I also like the auto-build of AoM, which seems incompatible with batch training.
the settlers 5 batches are small total war armies.
I loved playing multiplayer. Win or lose it’s an amazing time well spent
I mentioned the art style. Definitely, don't want anything that looks like Age of Empires Online
I actually liked it. But yes aoe4 definitly shouldn't have a cartoony style.
@ZaqueHunzahua God that was just the pay to win aspect of the game. Once that was gone people were happy. It's good that the game failed because they didn't listen to the community and it would've sent the wrong message. They would've continued to make shitty pay 2 win games that are free and quality would get worse with every installment.
My fav part of Aoe 3 sadly is a real hard one to reproduce. It's the setting and it's atmosphere. Just playing the missions in the campaign for example feels so good to me and it's not even bc of nostalgia. Bought the game 4 years ago.
Oh and other things i really enjoyed were the quirky cutscenes with its, in my language at least, funny voice acting. The scenario editor was great too. People got really creative and made pretty good game modes for mp. which also was a gorgeous experience.

I agree the atmosphere is so good in this game, I used to play the campaign with my brother when I was younger and those still are fresh and beautiful memories, I also loved the cutscenes haha. It's funny that we felt the same thing playing this amazing game :)

Why isn't it letting me take the survey? I agreed to the confidentiality thing, I'm over 18, and I'm not an employee, yet it just stops me there and says "thank you for your responses."

Anybody else having technical difficulties with doing this survey? For me the survey ended after first three question: "Do you want to continue with this survey?" (Yes), "Are you 18 years or older?" (Yes), "Are you a fulltime Microsoft employee or vendor?" (No).
After that the progress bar on the top jumped to 100% and the page read: "Thank you for..." etc.
Now I'm unable to continue/restart the survey... :(

No it asked me a hell of a lot of questions about 30 questions or more I think... you might want to try taking the survey with different account

I like a slower pace where I can build up walls and flesh out a proper inner city and outer housing zone. Bigger maps of course than age 3. Planning I like better than just mass sending out units rinse repeat.

Wish they would have continued the “ages” as they mapped out in that bonus material from some kind of special edition copy of (forget which game.) I know the gameplay of modern wars would be totally different than ages 1-3, but what an interesting thought
Couldn't agree more with everything you wrote Interjection. I also like how big the jump from Age 4 to 5 is because sometimes games get in an almost stalemate mode and when one person gets to age 5 the upgrades are so insane that it basically just ends the game and stops games from going on for forever.
The survey did the same for me as it's done to others. The whole ending after "Are you a Microsoft exployee/vendor" or whatever the question said. Both links lead to a page that says "You have already taken the survey or the session has expired" (or something along those lines).

I don't know why people have a hateboner for AoE3. The Home City system was not only different but somewhat ingenious even if implementation wasn't the best (and that is the problem with new things and being the 'first adopter', you're going to be the one saddled with fixing it because no one has done it before), it got away from antiquity/prehistory (AoE1 and AoE2) by going to the colonial era, I liked how they were trying to implement a 'symmetrical-asymmetrical' unit system, it changed the age system up a bit, basically doing what the industry ISN'T doing much of: EXPERIMENTING.
Sadly, stockholders are part of the problem. :(

1. Maybe they should make melee units more powerful ( add more swordsman )
2. Maybe to make shooting through the walls impossible and being able to put my units into tower and walls itself
3. Definately new gates xD
4. Improve everything about the ships (I never play with sea maps I'd like to change that)
5. Add more siege engines like ladders , battering ram
6. Moat for defenders and idk maybe pitch also
I don't want to make it similar to any stronghold game but I think the game requires some of these to be better than the previous AoE

9. Add morale beacuse even tho you lose hundreds of muskets you still spam them out and (if losing more units than opponent lowering their efficiency in combat) which doesn't make player with more resources headlessly spam out musk and win
Answered that I'm over 18 and that I'm not an employe. After this it said thanks for participating and it's done. If i try to redo it, it says i already took part or the time ran out.

I enjoy that aoe 3 is more of a kill based game (like chess as you mentioned). But also that in the other games, you did not do anything in the earlier parts, not just age 1 but age 2 as well. It is not fun. Also I hope aoe 4 takes place in the world war era. We would see big guns, tanks, and the soviet union.

Imagine AoE 4 more like a Red Redemption 2 but with the Civs- great graphics - a version that shows how a civ gets to be upgrade with the change of an age
How easy game is to start playing yet u there is so much to learn so its fun if u Play IT a lot but it doesnt recquire you to git gud nab, tldr fun for noobs and pros
think that aoe3 is actually a little too slow. It feels great when I'm playing, but as a viewer, I have to watch on 1.5x speed or I get way too bored, and I really can't sit and spend 4 hours watching a best of 7.
Also....I know they won't do it but I like that bow horse sword battles....everything now are guns....I'm bored of guns

Yeah sure, force the devs into making AoE4 to cater to your preferences or a small fanbase preferences. Just let people express whatever they want in the survey.
Luckily the AoE2 much larger fanbase didnt make a similar cringy video to influence the survey into unwanted results from your pov.

If they keep the treasure system they need to be fixed on the map rng 145 food on startup is broken. .. with that being the case get rid of exploration. Lastly add the possibility for age 1 pressure. Reduce the batch of units per building to 3 max and nerf building hp points to the ground. Start of with either generic civs with different names and colors or make just a few niche civs that are balanced!!!!!!!! The balance alone made me quit the game (which is hard when you got like 13 civs.....)

To be honest I would prefer aoe 4 be much similar to age 2...than aoe 3.
But the graphic in aoe3 better than aoe 2
@@MuhamadOwda I am not talking about graphics..... Aoe 3 came out lot later than aoe 2 so obviously it'll have better graphics I'm talking from a gameplay standpoint.... I really like aoe 3 's art direction over aoe 2 's

@@yagoa dynamic alliances you can change team alliances during a match.... Conversion..... And most importantly a lot of population space the rise of rajas expansion basically made max pop too 400....also I liked the fact Army formations were a thing.... Things that I hate lumber camps mining camps and other features that slowed the game down.... Also I'm not a big fan of the of the... Shipment mechanic in aoe 3
@@sohamdas7314 you have dynamic alliances in esoc patch otherwise it doesn't seem like more dynamics, conversion sure, but that is one thing, and the most complained about dynamic from what heard so far. If you like simpler games that's fine, but it's more a better of taste than anything else.
The right only audio is annoying as fuck
Just make it like aoe 2 and buff up the graphics :)
Hopefully speed up the pacing a bit too if that's the route they go down! Would like to see some inspiration from AoE3 too and all the AoE franchize
