- After the dirt and dust of the Wool Wagon Pathway, we pull up stumps for a bit of R+R at the Cleaverville campground. It's about 30km North of Karratha and is free from October to April. There are a few little towns including the abandoned town of Cossack, which once was the hub for the pearling industry in the North West, to visit. Point Samson was also a highlight. Shirley gets her bum wet although we didn't have to clear any space in the freezer for fish fillets... Hope you enjoy.

Hay mate you stayed at one most windy places in pilbara,I lived in Karratha for 15 years was op manager for roebourne shire,knew just about all good fishing spots from Fortescue to balla balla, you should fished creeks get more editable fish Jack's,Barra,fingermark and good old muddies,hope trip goes well.

@@mrandmrsadventureaustralia If staying in area or looking to camp in another trip consider Bella Bella,camp on fresh water holes and go fishing in salt estuary,your boat be great for that river system,thanks for reply.

@@mrandmrsadventureaustralia Tune off at whim creek about 20 odd km to good camp ground on fresh water,about 4 km to area put dinghy in,be aware crocks as they do come that far south,about 500meters from mouth main river/creek on right side off shoot small creek,fish mouth on run out,Jack's,mullaway,odd bars nice blackbream,put pots up small off shoot ck.good muddied.I camped there last time in 2016 for 2 months just week after retiring,cool place to chill out not many yahoo.
@@rosskennedy That sounds like a top spot.. Crocs are something we’ve had to navigate on occasions coming from the NE Coast of QLD..So will be wary.. Thanks again..
