Such a great video! I love how you show that some of the things that make it great are the same things that can become a burden--which also kinda highlights its flexibility. When you feel overwhelmed, you can pull back as much as you need to. When you feel inspired, you can dig in as deep and pour in as much as you want to. Thanks for always keeping it real! ✨
I found a way to repurpose bad paper. I use it to make a sticker collage dashboard and I hole punch it and add it to my planner. I sometimes make the sticker collage dashboards for friends. The freedom to use different paper is a definite pro!
I’ve found I actually like rings after years of trying them and not enjoying them. Part of the ❤found is finding a size that works for me in page size and also in ring size since I don’t like it chunky. It was also realizing that you don’t have to have all the stuff in it like a lot of folks too. I’d get overwhelmed and confused by stuff everyone seemed to have in their rings that they never used or didn’t need to be with them to carry around all the time. It was so much that was just there to flip past and try to find your stuff. And coming to terms with the fact that mine could be mine - what I need and focused on what works and the essentials was ok and could still be cute too. Seems dumb but it was hard to come to that split of need and want and fun and function but once I did it’s been enjoyable to have in my lineup. I don’t use rings all the time but love it when I do. And have plans for rings that are companions too because they can be a great option for reference and collections.
This was a real issue when I first started! The “this is what’s supposed to be in rings “ or the “I have to track stuff “ . After I let go of that… whole different experience!
My go-to safety net is having empty pages at the back and use them as i need them and then categorize them accordingly in front. And i just keep practicing with the basic planner categories (year, month, week, day), watch vids casually... its like having a date with my ring, getting to know it as much as i want it to get to know me 😂
Best advice I can give is set up your rings planner just like your book bound. Same sections and such. It will evolve from there. Maybe use blank paper and draw stuff out at first until you know what you like.
@@Beverlyplans thank you! I already have some blank pages, dot grid, and graph paper pages. I think I’ll punch my own lined paper, and print out calendars. That way I can acclimate myself to it and make it comfortable for me. I like the idea of being able to insert thing like pictures, etc, without adding as much bulk as tip-ins in a bound book.
Your video is a reminder of the good parts of rings. In the past when I've been in rings and archiving is a space issue I batch scan. Can scan everything and have a digital version of my rings saved. So it's all digital and only takes up space on the computer. Can adapt that by whatever I need. Works well with rings, doesn't work with bound books. Thank you for all the useful, real content that you put out! Wishing you well and safety!
I bough an Arura Estelle A6 customized ..I saved for it had it made didn't use for 8 months as I bought for it a lil every payday..thinking my planner needed to be perfect before I used it...I love your videos..as long as my planner functional for me it can look anyway I want.with rings n strings and love both worlds..I journal in a bound lil a6 that I found at a store called pop shelf..my ring sections I move and rearrange ..I may never find planner pease though it's fun for me to decorate and make my chaos controlled and easier to see.way better than pistits all over my frig ....and yes someone needs make 50mm rings😂😂
Thank you for this. I’ve used rings as a notebook and this year I started doing my morning pages there because I don’t plan to keep them for long. For 2025- I want to use personal rings in place of my weeks (which I love). I could see how it could get super expensive, but I want to try and spend zero😂 apart from the binder which I already purchased. Do you print once a month because you might change things up the next month? I’m intimidated by printing and cutting- I’m not very accurate with that sort of thing. I would think someone who came from bullet journaling would love rings! The collections part would be so much easier!! And like you said- I love that you can keep just exactly what you think is important. I am not into “archiving” shopping lists and mundane trips to the bank etc which you kind of have to when you use the Weeks. I’m excited to try this out- I’ll try to keep it simple until I feel more confident. I also love that you can personalize them on the cheap. I can finally put some of the ephemera I’ve collected to some good use. I love your little ghosts❤
Hi 👋 I do print once a month just so I am not printing all the time. I also over print a little and keep a stack of list and stuff so if I need one I can just grab . I switched back to regular personal rings so I can also buy inserts and skip printing all together if I want. We shall see 😁
Im from a bound book but i felt so powerful with a ring (felt like dr. Strange with my ring lol, portals and dimensions opening for me 😂) Plus, i recycled by bound book into inserts (esp bound books with noncomplicated covers id regret to lose) and then use that cover to punch holes and use fasteners to archive back the pages i used in my rings, already filtered 🥰 Oh, but YES my biggest weakness was overcustomizing. I dont buy refills, i punch every or any paper i have and play with my rings like a layered onion. Got too "aesthetic" based. But im slowly getting used to it. This video helps validate and remind myself of hoŵ i could get the most of my rings ❤
Oh my goodness. I’m not sure if I said this to you before but I wish I had someone give me these tips before I dived straight in. I’m kinda stuck. I don’t want to print never did. I personally would find that stressful. Am way I’m kinda stuck because I love the Hobo because of the paper. This coming year I’m going to break down the A6 hobo to punch holes in. I just purchased last year A6 for cheap and I will re date it. I’m hoping this will work out. Wishing you well Miki
Yes to all of this - pro and con for almost all of it! 😂
All great points!! I agree and struggle with them 😂

I love my rings, only for planning though, not journaling. 💚

@@Beverlyplans I am going to ask for a small laminator so I can get really fancy!!! 😂

❤ I’m glad you mentioned your UA-cam channel on IG.. my algorithm doesn’t show me much of my planner friends. Love the dashboard ❤
Thank you 😊 and welcome 🤗
Emotional support planner ❤❤❤❤I love it❤❤❤❤
I do too. 😎
It’s my constant sidekick and I never go anywhere without it 😂 I need to get it a sticker or something 🤣🤣🤣
❤ I love your channel
Thank you 😊
I use a Hobonichi Weeks for archiving purposes - I just move what I want to keep in my rings to the Weeks and then get rid of the inserts.
That’s a great system!
I just received some rings planners last week and LOVE them! But, I do feel overwhelmed. I feel like I don't even know where to start.

@@Beverlyplans well we will see how it goes. If it doesn’t work like I want I just won’t do it next year. 🤷♀️
What is evergreen ?
Evergreen just means I can keep it as long as I want or it’s good forever essentially.
