I watched the Rose episode since then my life changed then the news broke that Eccleston was not gonna be in next series then a few weeks later Tennant was announced as Doctor 10 (really 11th revealed in 2013 when Doctor now on his final life as he twice regenerated as 10th)
Fun Fact, the male CBBC presenter at 0:20, Andrew Hayden-Smith would play Jake Simmonds in Rise of the Cybermen, The Age of Steel and Doomsday a year later. So that's another Doctor Who link in this video.
Christopher Eccleston is exactly one week younger than me. We were born just three months after Dr Who first aired in November 1963. I thought Christopher was a great Doctor Who for the relaunch of the iconic show in 2005. ☺💕
I actually watched doctor who series 1 in a two day weekend form ep 1 rose to ep 14 the Christmas invasion By the time I got to ep 13 the parting of the ways when the regeneration came I was sad And I don't have a clue why because I already watched it before and cried its weird how Things from the past can make you shed a tear or two.
Being an American. I've never seen Blue Peter until recently, when I watched a few clips. And I must say. It is a nice show. Kind of like Mister Roger's Neighborhood, which I used to watch all the time when I was little. And that Blue Peter is the longest running kid's show, and will continue to be for decades to come. That's pretty dang cool. And that Doctod Who occasionally crosses over with this show is pretty cool too. I really wish BBC iPlayer could work outside the United Kingdom. Because apart from Doctor Who, there's a number of other BBC Content I love. Including The Young Ones, Blackadder, 'Allo! 'Allo!, Shaun the Sheep, and Dad's Army. Come on BBC, you've been making great stuff to watch and listen to for over a hundred years, and you're not willing to share all with the world because of things like licensing issues? You can do better than that.
"It was a great honour and a great privilege". I never saw this at the time - wonder if I would hve guessed that he was leaving after one series. He was lovely, but looked very awkward really.
I love Nine to death. He’s...well, _fantastic!_ However, during the episode where his shirt gets taken off, I can’t really help but think that he looks a little _skinny_ for a guy his size? Like, Christopher himself looks like he should’ve had more on him than he did during that shirtless scene? I dunno, maybe I’m just really tired or my contacts are in that ever-so-slightly-fucked-up state.
Mental_Toast I actually found that out for myself about a month ago. Needless to say, I was very saddened by it. Poor Christopher...well, I’ve also heard he’s getting a bit better, so that’s good!
@@thereyvan it’s a real shame that eccleston left just after the first series, as new fan that’s been watching since June he was amazing, but with eccleston returning for audio dramas I hope he returns back on screen as he seems more respecting of the role now than he was after the few years after he left

Still remember the excitement of this. Strange thinking that when Chris did Blue Peter he'd already left.
