Nice one. for your bulbs do you smart bulbs or smart bulb switches. I use wzye camera sensors, majorly for security but this is lovely. you can also use sensors for your drawers or even cookie jar, especially when you have a toddler around. nice one😄
I've got a basic questions on Aqara integrated into Apple Home. I've got a full system with Sensors, Motions, Water Sensors, Cameras and all of this stuff is there newest stuff. So my basic question is what is the best way to get notifications. So I don't want notifications (other than the 24/7 stuff) when I'm home. Should I use Homekit or Aqara? Currently I'm having problems with the modes (Away, Home and Night) actually reporting correctly based on the mode. I believe the Aqara Modes are setup correctly but I'm only getting Notifications out of Aqara and nothing out of Apple Home? Am I just misunderstanding about how HomeKit reports and should just be using Aqara? I have 1 Aqara G2 Pro that reports everything no matter the mode. The only thing I can do is to turn off the camera. I would like it to be viewable and record but not Alert when in Home Mode. They also have a new Scene Sync that is only one direction from Aqara to Home. Could that be the problem. Everything is running 17.1 IOS.
Hey Robert, first of all thanks for checking out my channel!! The only way I can answer your question is to tell you what IM doing with my modes. First and foremost, I rarely have anything set up to give me notifications except cameras (Ill get to that in a minute) I have used the Home+ app (Controller is another good one) to set up different automations based solely on my presence home or away. When Im home, the security system is off until I set me night scene which arms it for night. I use the home+ app to say if I open bedroom door AND security system is set to night, AND its between a 9:00pm and 6:00am, set security system to HOME. Then I use that HOME mode to reverse - When I close bedroom door AND security system is HOME, and its between 9:00pm and 6:00am, set scene for night. Other than that I am not using the home mode at all. As it pertains to cameras, I have just set up my notifications in the home app to receive notifications when I am away (You can do this under the camera settings in the home app, under notification settings) and turned camera notifications from aqara off all together. I will say, I have yet to figure out how to automate Aqara's notifications to home/away, I dont think their location based system is robust enough for that at this point so I turn notification off for most devices. I hope I was able to somewhat answer your question!!
you make some pretty cool videos! thanks Delyn
Another great video! Love me some Aqara!
Thanks George!

nice one😄
Thanks! I use a mixture. Lamps have Philips Hue bulbs and anything overhead is on a switch! Monitor them cookies!!
How do you feel about Eve products? Been thinking about the smart switch’s & plugs since the don’t need a hub.
I have only ever had one eve product, the thread based door/window sensor and it was less reliable than Aqara for me. Some people swear by them though

This man only needs his hands for his bean water.
Someday that’ll be automagic too
