Hi, I have to say not only your tables are the best looking and realistic, but the way you explain the battle reports is second to none and your channel and content you produce is top quality. Very much appreciated again!
It's hard to argue with the success the Hetzer had, but I kept hoping it would take a shot at the KV-2. I would have dismounted the SS squad sooner, and tried to get a shot at the KV with both panzerfausts. Ryan's beginner's luck with the dice almost won the game for him. All in All a good bloody game!
Top notch as always. If Ryan is going to play Soviets he needs to remember they get to roll failed morale tests one more. Their national rule "Not One Step Back"
Yes. It’s an easily forgotten rule. But you are right the Soviet player should be responsible for remembering that. Most people say I forgot but I can’t remember every rules for both armies while doing all the other stuff.
Corker of a game. That Hetzer and a sniper that not only hit but actually took stuff out! Hottest sniper I've seen in any Bat Rep. That KV2 is such a monster. Point, click, delete. Looking forward to the next one.
I always skip over Bolt Action in personal play but at a recent convention there was a 6-man BA game going on and there's just something to revealing those dice pulls out of the bag and the snappy gameplay that's a crowd pleaser. Yeah ok the CoC guys I'm sure were having a more ~tactically engaging~ experience but there was more cheering and fun from the big dumb Bolt Action table.
You know what would make an amazing scenario? Operation Cowboy. An American mechanized force, a bunch of liberated Allied POWs, a Cossack cavalry unit that had defected from the German army, and many hastily rearmed German POWs fight off repeated attacks by the SS to save the Lipizzaner breeding mares from the Red Army. It's the kind of crazy war story that would have Donald Sutherland and Telly Savalas in supporting roles.
There are off table aircraft in the main rulebook. There are also some out of book official aircraft rules from warlord for specific aircraft and using models on the table.
They are shooting over them. We have a rule that says as long as the target is farther from the tank than the unit the tank is firing over the tank can fire. So if the unit being fired over is closer to the target than the tank the tank cannot fire.
I’ve watched quite a few of your videos. Do you recall if you fielded a Tiger in any of them? I painted up one over a year ago and have yet to field it…….
Really fun battle report. Great models, great table, great running commentary and camera work. My *only* complaint is that it's absurd that the KV-2 is anything but an utter dog in the game... certainly every KV-2 was a pile of rusty scrap by the time the panzerfaust was invented, let alone the Hetzer. That's not your fault of course! It's Warlord's fault for letting such a farcically bad weapon system be effective in the game (its off-road speed was slower than a babushka's walking pace and it destroyed its own turret ring just by firing the main gun).

Gotta keep track of your spotters. I left one in a church tower at our local shop and he stayed there for 3 weeks no one found him. 😉
Haha sneaky little bastards

I like the use of coloured fur (I assume) to create patches of grass. It's a simple technique but works really well :)
Some brilliant finds Andre. Great that you have found another player so close Travis. Hope it works out with him as a player.
16:28 One of the Soviet national rules is that they can reroll a failed morale test
Good game! I was painting 1806 Prussian line so it sounded good

Nice debut close game in the end well done all......
Love the TF2 sound effects and voice lines haha
great win Andre😀
Good game guys! The Brown lab is braver than mine. The minute we shake up the dice, he runs away.
Haha. What a wimp
Yes all 92 lbs of him!
Awesome battle report of a very fun game! Keep up the bolt action it's inspirational for my own games and great entertainment!
Greatest BA battle report ever. Thanks!
Another great game! Y'all make learning how to play fun. Cigarbox has some great mats in their store, it might be time to update my table.
I love your battle reports. Very detailed.

It is a great game. Fast paced, lots of action, thrills and spills.
Nice idea bud, I’ll give that a go, thanks👍🏻
The terrain is nice!
Mateee love your bolt action vidoes 🔥🔥🔥
New to the game system. Love the sound effects.
Welcome aboard! It’s a great game. Lots of fun.
Newbie came out rolling like a demon, well done..but those mid game rolls cost the rustiest…dang the Hetzer was a gun!!!
Another great battle report!
More bolt action yes!
spot on game ,great to see someone rolling more 1s and 2s than me for once
Hey, we can roll 1s on demand. Just shout out “anything but!” Right before you roll.
You know what would make an amazing scenario? Operation Cowboy.

Good game. Great to see the KV2 on the table, it’s a beast! Although the Hetzer Hetzed better
I think the Hetzer thought he was the KV2
welcome to the Nerd Cave😀
love the content keep it up Travis
Great AAR!
The terrain or town layout was fantastic here fellas.
I haven't played Bolt Action before and was wondering does the game have aircraft?
There are off table aircraft in the main rulebook. There are also some out of book official aircraft rules from warlord for specific aircraft and using models on the table.
@@tabletopcp Do they do much or not really worth the points cost?
@@trentweston8306 they can do some damage. To you or your opponent.
@20:30 how is the tank able to shoot through his own men? (I’m new and learning from this)
They are shooting over them. We have a rule that says as long as the target is farther from the tank than the unit the tank is firing over the tank can fire. So if the unit being fired over is closer to the target than the tank the tank cannot fire.
I think the Loaders head is under the wheel of the Bofors
Exactly where it was 😄
Good stuff keep it up.
Bolt action is swingy but in a fun that'll never probably happen again way.
Nice BR! Gimme more ^^. Where do you get these cool pin markers from? Greetings from Germany.
Greetings! And thank you! The pin markers are from Charlie Foxtrot.
I’ve watched quite a few of your videos. Do you recall if you fielded a Tiger in any of them? I painted up one over a year ago and have yet to field it…….
We have used a tiger a few times. In chain of command and bolt action.
Hey i enjoy the video is there is a list for both armies
Not listed anywhere. We go over the lists at the start of the video.
When a tank shoots at a truck. How is that resolved if its a hit with main gun?
It’s the same as shooting at another tank. Pen value of the gun vs. soft skin armor value of six. So generally pretty easy to do damage to them.
@@tabletopcp and then its resolved on the same damage chart as a tank?
@@thekameleon9785 yep. And it is always full damage on the chart, no glancing hits.
@@tabletopcp thanks very much!
what is the size of this board? regulation 72x48?
Yep. 6x4 feet
Where do you get your terain?
Most of the buildings are 4ground except the church which is Sarrisa
Shouldn`t the regular Maxim with gunshild have survived on a 4 ?
Yea the gun shield. You are right
Haha the team fortress heavy sounds
😎
Nice try Ryan. Great game! Glad to see the Germans won!

That’s bolt action for you! The worst tanks of the war are some of the best in the game
And a Question to the softskin-Truck. I tought a Softskin is considered as destroyed when you roll a Six on killing?
I think that was first edition. A 6 followed by another 6 if I remember. Now a 6 is followed by a roll on the damage chart in
I've always wanted to get into tabletop rpgs. Is this game expensive? Is there an active playerbase? Is this good game for baby's first tabletop?
Well it’s not an RPG it’s a tabletop strategy wargame. But it’s not super expensive compared to other games. And fairly easy to learn.
@@tabletopcp Sorry, I'm still new to the terminology and what not. But thanks, this game looks fun.
@@Susie_Legion_DBD yeah no worries. Give it a try!
Top notch as usual. Did Ryan forget to re-roll failed morale for his Soviets or was this a house rule?
Yea. We forgot that one.
