*Meaning of the song:*
Daechwita is a traditional Korean musical genre born in the late Joseon dynasty, which used to be performed in royalty processions, was characterized by including wind instruments and percussion. Today it continues to be used on special occasions and for military purposes.
This maintains a traditional essence from her native South Korea, both musically and visually. Dachwita’s MV is doubly starred by Suga, who is a humble boy who represents the Korean people and is also the king. Yoongi faces himself in an endless battle, his revolutionary and humble side against the powerful, cruel, and dangerous part of his personality.
You can see that Yoongi has a deep scar around the eye, the interesting thing about all this is that in South Korea a king cannot have any marks on his skin since otherwise he would not be considered fit to occupy the throne. However, the fact that Suga proudly shows the scar on his face is proof of his strength, that despite being hurt inside he was able to demonstrate that he is capable of achieving his dreams and greater ambitions.
The king witnessed how the humble boy challenges him on several occasions and decides to use his power to order that his head be cut off, just as other members of the town have had the same fate. Finally, Suga is captured and tied by the hands and arms for his execution but he seems not to be scared and moves to the rhythm of the torches that surround him.
However, Suga is not afraid of anything, and even at the moment where he was about to lose his life, he was able to continue fighting for his ideals and rebel against injustices, this is how he defies the king and shoots him, robbing him so his last breath.

1. this MV is a continuation of the story that began with suga's first mixtape (Agust D and Give It To Me).
2. daechwita ni a genre of korean traditional marching band music that can only be played by military band.
3. ada dua agust d dalam ni; the mad king from the past (blonde hair) and the rebel from the present/future (dark hair). suga ada mention dalam behind the scene that the mad king is indeed himself, Agust D, who rose to power in 2016 (please please pleaseeee watch Agust D and Give It To Me then you will get this). the present agust d is a down to earth person yang value knowledge over riches. banyak jugak detail dalam mv ni yang support the idea that the rebel has already seen many hardships and is wiser and more balanced version of agust d, while the mad king everything is 'fresh' and dia punya greed tu still flourishing uncontrollably. so dia as the rebel nak bunuh diri dia as the king if that makes sense...? in the end kita boleh nampak the king fall to the ground tapi suga sendiri cakap that the king might still not be dead.
4. the butcher from the beginning of the MV is the same person yang cut the ropes tied around the rebel's wrists and bagi pistol at the end of the MV (he was supposed to pancung the present agust d but apparently they made an alliance together back in the marketplace scene to drive out the mad king).
5. suga guna banyak reference of korean history and culture dalam lyrics and mv lagu ni. there's just so much behind it.. sangat complex and genius!

So beginning with the name, Agust D is DT Suga backwards. DT stands for Daegu town where he grew up and then Suga is obviously his stage name.
Before Daechwita theres a track call "Agust D" released in 2016, Agust D first solo project. He was blonde at that time and the song was about how he has got anything he wants, and dissed his haters. Well, Suga did say ‘I never dissed anyone specifically. If someone feels targeted, then it’s their problem'.
There is a theory that the blonde king Agust D in Daechwita is his past self confroting his now/present self, the black hair Agust D. At the end, the black hair Agust D killed his past self as he overthrows society and becomes what he hated; that is a tyrant (as seen in the Daechwita M/V when all his servants bow down) which is not his true self. The humble and polite Suga.

Thank you so much for your reaction towards our beloved Min Yoongi (Suga from BTS & Agust D). This second solo mixtape of him, D-2 is such a comfort because he wrote and rapped about oneself. You can surely resonate with his words in some of the songs, so do give the album a listen!
Meanwhile, his first solo mixtape, Agust D where he introduced himself as Agust D for the first time in 2016 talked about mental illnesses he had suffered with during the first few years of BTS becoming known to the world. He also wrote about the injustice of government, and bad society image, as an awareness that things like that really happened but no one is brave enough to speak on it.
In both of his mixtapes too, he kept his diss lines lowkey for his antis to understand themselves that he actually called them out for the sh*tty behaviour. Fun fact, both of his mixtapes are FREE and available on Soundcloud. That shows that he is such a generous and humble human being no matter how big he actually is with the rest of his group members.

Daechwita is a marching song for royalties if Im not mistaken. And Suga is one of the royal blood from the Min clan. If South Korea is a monarchy country rn the king will be Suga.
Also AGUST D is inverted of Daegu Town SUGA (he is from daegu) and yes he was an underground rapper b4 joining bts.
And actually no bts member hv made an actual debut as solo. They just love to release solo projects from time to time with their own work, effort, lyrics and style and some are even released for free for their fans.
