Speaker Toni now I know what happened to you with Vifa people. The answer they gave you about your way of speaking is a kind of "racism". Thank you for the video. I was waiting for it. I am not going to buy the Reikjavik but I still have the doubt of what speaker may I buy for the Christmas with a budget of 350 euros and looking for the best sound in that range. Coud you help me? Vifa Helsinki, Revolve +, or the minirigs? Have you listen to the minirigs?Wich ones do you recomend? Thank you!
Jose Ramón García thank you:) Yea, the Vifa Helsinki is a great choice and probably one of the best for that money. If you need something with more power you can also take a look at the Go+Play or maybe even the Audio Pro T5 which is cheaper and sounds even better than the Vifa in my opinion but sadly has no battery build in. Also the new Denon is a awesome choice when you want something small.
Let me know if you decide to get rid of that Reykjavik. I agree that the bass is missing. But the Denon, although it has bass, it sounds muddy to me. Great review!!!!!
A D I’am not getting rid of it yet as I see the massive potential in this speaker. I wrote Vifa a long email asking for a new and improved firmware, let’s see if I get a reply. The Denon already sounds very clear and detailed when you hold it on axis but the Vifa manages to sound even clearer somehow. But without becoming unnatural.
A D update, I just got my second Reykjavik. And I’am a bit disappointed again. A second one doesn’t really make them sound fuller and they still can’t keep up with the Helsinki with the bass. Additionally they don’t feature real stereo sound, just some party mode which is very disappointing from a HiFi company like Vifa. They do sound nicely big and very refined but I’ll probably send back the second one and stick with my white Reykjavik for further testing.
Hi Toni - it’s not stereo? That’s odd . I did not open my second unit to test . They are both being returned . It’s pointless keeping the Reykjavik in my opinion . Vifa have no plans for a late made or a firmware update . It’s a nice speaker for phone calls and podcasts but not music . Even though the A1,s can be glitchy at more than 2metres apart when paired , they sound fantastic as they have real stereo sound .
I actually agree the "trumpet" sounds much clearer on the Vifa. On the Denon its sounds like a real Saxophone . ;.) I think your judgement is a bit off. The Vifa is more trebly and therefore a bit more detailed. But if the Vifa would have the same bas output as the denon it would have the same sound signature as the denon. And vice versa. Denon is meatier and the Vifa is thinner by design.
nice video. I do never hear the real product at all. But from your video, the Vifa Reykjavik have no bass boost, and I guess even the BOSE soundlink micro have better bass punch than the new Vifa. Hope it can get the app update soon for late night turning. Otherwise, I should go for Denon. One more question, as the New Denon Envaya not arrival at my country yet, I can't get anymore information about it. The New Denon Envaya can pair with two same model speaker(get know from the online manual), do you know these two was pair in stereo mode or some kind of party mode?
You should had get some sample units. Many people who loves bluetooth speakers are your subscribers and you are honest and one of the best in your class. Don't take it as insult, It's their loss to not send you sample units even tho the Reykjavik is a let down from Vifa... Maybe It's why they didn't
Wonderful video Toni. I think even if there will be a late night mode for the Reykjavik, still it won't be as exciting as the denon at low level. And I guess though it smaller at full volume it sounds better with more kick bass than the denon.
Mig K thank you. With the late night mode it might not be as powerful as the Denon but at least as good overall as it offers more details and resolution than the Denon.
also received the reykjavik today. i can only say what Duduv-54 Magician said. The bass depends on positioning and is underwhelming. but the overall sound and sonical speed is so impressive, it's comparable to my KEF LS50. Don't ever listen to bad recorded music, you WILL hear all flaws. it definately needs some dynamic equaliser options to make it sound more pleasing on low levels. over 70% you will start to hear distortion like on the helsinki but it's perfectly acceptable and way above normal listening levels
Cuerex yes, it has incredible midrange and treble performance. They probably used a very good Vifa full range driver. I have some laying around for my self made speakers as well. If you let them play a lot of deep bass as well as the treble and mids they won’t be loud and won’t sound good at all as they cannot take it. But if you only use them down to 250hz they will sound amazing. That’s probably what Vifa did here.
i can hear all important bass notes on all my songs. try different locations, speaker like the A1 and reykjavik work best at corners. ua-cam.com/video/CrDw3hUl0Ko/v-deo.html listen to this song, you will be amazed
Cuerex I wouldn't quite want the A1 in a corner, the bass on normal volumes is strong enough. The Reykjavik really sounds great in corners. I hear all the bass notes as well but they are just not played powerful enough (even in the corner) to be compared to the Denon for example. My dad who is a real Hi-end freak loved the speaker from the first second he heard it. So in the end it's very subjective, still I cannot recommend the speaker to everyone yet as the bass is just lacking a bit to make it a good Allrounder. 2dB more bass and I would already give it a 100% buying recommendation but it's just too flat with some tracks.
i can understand this.. it is largely a matter of subjective preference.. a larger amount of bass would appeal to everyone that's for sure. in audiophile terms and manners, you're not tied to the boominess of a speaker but rather the absolute honesty. this is mainly a balance and speaker design problem and i hope it can be tweaked and is not hardware limited like on a dali katch for example
The problem. Is Reykjavik has no depth of sound .....The A1 may not always be precise but it’s an exciting speaker . It’s like Toni mention it plays very big and deep on some recordings , the Reykjavik is also supposed to be a 360 speaker not a corner speaker . You end up pissing around with it to get the right placement and sound .
Thanks a lot for this good job. It's been months I expect a review of the Vifa Reykjavik. I have the Beoplay A1 and I wonder if I should change it or not. Maybe not yet.
Jerval. Keep the A1. The Vifa is good if you listen to podcasts .....very clear. But it’s way too thin to enjoy music especially at the 200 Euro price point . The A1 also with placement and good recordings sounds huge with lovely deep base . The A1’s sound amazing as a pair but glitchy if the are more than 2 metres apart . 🤗
Thanks for the Internet. We can avoid to buy so many wrong products. I like my helsinki, but I expect many will be mislead by their experience of previous great products from vifa.
Low to medium level listening so good with Denon also nice stereo seperation that Vifa cannot do. However long listening never disturb my ear because Denon's sound is so smooth... I also have Vifa helsinki that it has little bit more mids than Denon and i cannot listen long time. Specially low level sound is so tiny with Vifa helsinki.
Dhruv Chudasama not yet. The Klipsch Stadium seems like the only speaker with the same approach but probably won’t have a chance against the Phantom. Also the Vifa Stockholm seems comparable but it’s way cheaper and probably can’t really keep up as well. You could look out for some active stereo speakers by Quadral or Elac. Those will probably beat the phantom as I remember. Or at least be as good overall. I will sell my passive stereo system soon and probably buy a new active Elac system from the money so that I finally have something which can keep up with the phantom:)
I've had the denon envaya 250 for a while now and I love it, was considering the vifa for Chrismas but I think I'll stick with my denon and maybe look at a bigger speaker, I like the look of the heos 5/7.....
Haha this is the most ridiculous accusation, you have never insulted anybody. This makes me even more anti Vifa. You have to be able to have discussiuons, and even uncomfortable ones, we are living in a free western world where everybody has an opinion, and that is the beauty of it. I hope you will NOT become more politically correct now because there is too much of it in the world already.
I got this answer on Facebook from Vifa for my question about “late night mode” and app support: “I haven't received news on the "late night" mode, but there's no app for Reykjavik and for now it doesn't seems like an app is on its way. Unfortunately!”
supernova1976 I don’t think so. I think that they just want to continue their philosophy of true HiFi sound from high quality drivers. The problem here is that it doesn’t matter how high quality the drivers in the Reykjavik are, you need some bass boost to compensate for their overall lack in size just like Denon did! If they boosted bass a bit more it would still remain HiFi and great sounding but could also provide some more kick so it’s more fun to listen to.
SPEAKER Tony, now I know what happened to you with Vifa people. Thank you!
Jose Ramón García you should take a look at the new Denon, the Helsinki and the Minirigs. The Audio Pro T5 also is a great Helsinki Killer but with no battery built in.
Through your and Oluvs reviews I really got into Vifa products. I bought three different units, had issues with each one of them and sent them back. Their support service is utterly idiotic and useless, now hearing about their judgment about you for simply offering them free promotion somehow fits more and more into my understanding of them. There’s more to a product than the product itself. People call Apple out for being overpriced and paying for their brand name only, however you get an incredible service, a shit ton of great free Apps and much more on top. Now Vifa is literally overpriced and if anywhere, that’s where you actually pay on top for the brand name. Don’t even get me started with their nightmare of an App. Vifail.
Marcel Koca Vifail hahaha😂 I was really wondering why they rejected me like that as well. And yes, quality issues are very common with Vifa products and I don’t expect that for such a high price. Also the app is supposed to work flawless and fluid if I pay 500$ for a Vifa Oslo but in the case of iOS it doesn’t even recognize the Oslo after the 20th try. But you need to give one thing to them, all of their speakers sound great. Even the Reykjavik isn’t a fail. A bit more bass would’ve been nice of course just to make it more comparable to the competition in this regard but it does many other things much better than the competition. On max volume not even the Denon is as loud or sounds as full and rich as the Reykjavik. The Reykjavik also has incredible details in the mids and great resolution in the treble which is very unique for a speaker of this size. I only noticed those advantages after having listened to it for many hours and getting used to the sound a bit. Still, although it’s a fantastic speaker in many regards I think that the bass is definitely a little underpowered although it really doesn’t need to be. I’ll share my final thoughts in some of the upcoming videos:)
Apple and great service? somehow cannot find the NBD worldwide( Vifa should know better though, esp. for the asking price It is partly due to the fact, BT speakers and this part of bussiness and customer care is just completely minor for them, hence they don't pay attention and are not producing new bt speakers anyway
Someone on Facebook asked, “Just received mine today, and I found that Vifa iOS app does not support Reykjavik 😭. I wanted to use “late night” mode with my Reykjavik to get warmer sound. Will you update the app to support Reykjavik?” Vifa Vifa If you write support@vifa.dk they will tell you what can be done 😊
I appreciate Toni’s review so we now know what needs to improve on this speaker before getting it. I think you are right that the more people ask for it, they will put it out faster, ie late night mode and bass boost. They obviously want to sell as many as possible. I emailed Vifa to find out how to get the warmer late night mode sound. So far, no reply. Crossing fingers the option is already available.
T LC and when you see the Facebook comment, Vifa replied to other person also. And it seems like Vifa even have no solid answer for “late night” mode support for Reykjavik.
LG
Hi tony you make o good job, spending your time and money for us. Thank you for this. About your language, maybe you should try to speak a little bit slow (if possible;-) bye
For fuck sake Toni 😀 before you mentioned anything about what Vifa said, I really thought you are somehow associated with them because you always said good things about their speakers . Nevermind them .
Bytheway: did you read the manual? Is there a Vifa app maybe or info on an update/firmware download? :) About why Vifa turned you down: maybe they don't like realy honest and critical reviews, and they only want positive 'infomercials'...
Wuppie62 that’s a good idea. I’ll take a look and see if there is something that might help. But why did clavinetjunkie get so many units from them? He’s the most honest reviewer here.
I don't know, but one obvious commercial reason could be the number of subscribers he has. My advise to you is to not take this personal! You did nothing wrong. Just keep on trying and in the end it will pay off some day.
unusable is harsh to say. the excite type of sound which is boosted by the artificial algorythms of jbl speakers have their cons as well.. the reykjavik have an untouched monitor sound in its high's and mids that compete with 500€ speakers on typical studio use. so alot what you hear as boring, mostly is the cause of a bad recording
Cuerex which is better, to have average mids, average highs and average highs or to have perfect mids perfect highs and NO BASS? In the end these are portable speakers. No one is going to buy them speaker for monitoring, and the reykjavik is also mono
they have bass.. you have to hear it in person and try different locations.. i use it in my bedroom where bass usually sounds too loud, it sounds just perfect with the "weaker" bass of my reykjavik and dali katch. it's all a matter of location when it comes to speakers. i still have to try them outdoors though. and no it's not mono, the 2 tweeters on the side emit left and right seperated
Cuerex you have two very different sounding speakers. The vifa is the most natural sounding speaker and the dali katch sounds really virtual and fake Oh that's nice that it can sound good in some locations. So why vifa didn't provide different tunings with an app for it? The speaker is just not right. It sounds good in 1 of 100 cases
the jbl boombox sounds like a kitchen radio on low volumes so there you have that. i should maybe make a video to demonstrate the abilities of the reykjavik lol
Messed up at 7:08😂

Yea, the Vifa Helsinki is a great choice and probably one of the best for that money.
If you need something with more power you can also take a look at the Go+Play or maybe even the Audio Pro T5 which is cheaper and sounds even better than the Vifa in my opinion but sadly has no battery build in.
Also the new Denon is a awesome choice when you want something small.
welche frequenzgenerator-App nutzt du?
Jannie f generator
try the HK Onys Studio 3 if you want something for the living room. it sounds better than a vifa oslo
since you had Bang & Olufsen A1, may I ask if we compare between B&O A1 to Vifa Reykjavik, with one would be a winner ?
Okay Toni. Thanks for the update!
lmfaooo Toni that sucks I dont know whats wrong with them I love you and Oluv's videos!
Andrew C thank you:)
Yea, the disappointment is quite big so far.
Cool und lohnt es sich ? Ist sie besser als die A1 ?
I actually agree the "trumpet" sounds much clearer on the Vifa. On the Denon its sounds like a real Saxophone . ;.)
I think your judgement is a bit off. The Vifa is more trebly and therefore a bit more detailed. But if the Vifa would have the same bas output as the denon it would have the same sound signature as the denon. And vice versa.
Denon is meatier and the Vifa is thinner by design.
First of all thank you for your videos. I really enjoy them.
Did you use the vifa app? It helps with some bass on night mode.
I don’t know about that yet sorry.
But two Denons in stereo would be awesome.
The Denon just arrival on my contury today, it can pair in stereo!!! The new Envaya should be the best choice to replace my A1 portable stereo system.

With the late night mode it might not be as powerful as the Denon but at least as good overall as it offers more details and resolution than the Denon.
i heard the flip 4 and it sounds great but is the denon better for double the price
-please Toni I would like it if you replied
Do a comparison video between this and beoplay A1
That's why they won't send you Reykjavik for review :) - there is no low frequency
also received the reykjavik today. i can only say what Duduv-54 Magician said. JERVAL just go for DENON×2, after the horrible pairing tone, you may get a perfect stereo system to replace the old a1.
the denon dsb-250 is the better choice for the price as of now
Thanks for the Internet. We can avoid to buy so many wrong products. I like my helsinki, but I expect many will be mislead by their experience of previous great products from vifa.

Hey Toni did u find any alternative to devialet phantom gold in terms of sound ? And any larger speaker with same price ?
Dhruv Chudasama there probably is none at this time
Dhruv Chudasama not yet.
Speaker Toni I’d look at the dynaudio Xoe range. I’d dare say they could do a good job!
Andrew C which xeo model would compete with gold phantom ?
Dhruv Chudasama to be honest any of them. They are stunning active speakers!
Great speaker for the minirigs sub v2. Perfect for the helsinki reckon could sort the the reykjavik out.
Look like TicHome and Google Home Mini had a baby... Without the assistant 😂😂😂
Usb-c or micro Usb ? That should be your first durability criteria when you show off the aesthetic and around the device, but you don't seem to care..
I've had the denon envaya 250 for a while now and I love it, was considering the vifa for Chrismas but I think I'll stick with my denon and maybe look at a bigger speaker, I like the look of the heos 5/7.....
Hi tony have you tried to remove the upper cover? Can you make a video about that like you did with other speakers?
Subbed. LOL British Toni
Great reviews btw. Just ordered myself an Audio Pro T5 😊
What’s the price
Haha this is the most ridiculous accusation, you have never insulted anybody. This makes me even more anti Vifa. You have to be able to have discussiuons, and even uncomfortable ones, we are living in a free western world where everybody has an opinion, and that is the beauty of it.
I hope you will NOT become more politically correct now because there is too much of it in the world already.
I got this answer on Facebook from Vifa for my question about “late night mode” and app support:
“I haven't received news on the "late night" mode, but there's no app for Reykjavik and for now it doesn't seems like an app is on its way. Unfortunately!”
definately the case.. i'm thinking about returning my reykjavik at the moment
The Envaya sounds fantastic, pity I can only gdt the old version of the Envaya here in Australia, the 200 not 250.
I just scored this speaker as "no name brand" for $1 usd at a local pawn shop. Lol
Wait, they don’t even include a charging cable in the box?
Sau geiles Intro
Blues007 Danke:)
Hahahaha Great Britain 😂😂😂🇬🇧 I do say this speaker is rather good ol bean, it’s dynamic range really hits ol heart! Warms me cockles govna!
Andrew C hahaha:)
The reason for the low bass could be to avoid the same inherit issues in the A1? But for sure it doesn't sound balanced.
supernova1976 I don’t think so.
I think that they just want to continue their philosophy of true HiFi sound from high quality drivers.

Vifa Helsinki, Revolve +, or the minirigs? Have you listen to the minirigs?Wich ones do you recomend? Thank you!
Vifa helsinki is probably the best bet
Or mini rigs. They sound great in Olavs channel
Jose Ramón García you should take a look at the new Denon, the Helsinki and the Minirigs.
The Audio Pro T5 also is a great Helsinki Killer but with no battery built in.
There is a skit on UA-cam from an icelandic guy about Danish and English accent. We should send it to Vifa
Through your and Oluvs reviews I really got into Vifa products. I bought three different units, had issues with each one of them and sent them back. Still, although it’s a fantastic speaker in many regards I think that the bass is definitely a little underpowered although it really doesn’t need to be.
I’ll share my final thoughts in some of the upcoming videos:)
Apple and great service? somehow cannot find the NBD worldwide(
Vifa should know better though, esp. for the asking price
It is partly due to the fact, BT speakers and this part of bussiness and customer care is just completely minor for them, hence they don't pay attention and are not producing new bt speakers anyway
Someone on Facebook asked, “Just received mine today, and I found that Vifa iOS app does not support Reykjavik 😭. I wanted to use “late night” mode with my Reykjavik to get warmer sound. Will you update the app to support Reykjavik?”
Vifa
Vifa If you write support@vifa.dk they will tell you what can be done 😊
I appreciate Toni’s review so we now know what needs to improve on this speaker before getting it. I think you are right that the more people ask for it, they will put it out faster, ie late night mode and bass boost. They obviously want to sell as many as possible.
I emailed Vifa to find out how to get the warmer late night mode sound. So far, no reply. Crossing fingers the option is already available.
T LC ohhhh that’s actually me, and I just decided to return it.
T LC and when you see the Facebook comment, Vifa replied to other person also. And it seems like Vifa even have no solid answer for “late night” mode support for Reykjavik.
It appears that there will be no app support for the Reykjavik nor a Late Night mode at this time. I went ahead and cancelled my order. Too bad.
omg is this an affordable Vifa???????? I didnt watch yet
ahh crap Im underwhelmed I'll stick with my A1
It sounds as if Vifa chose a 100% natural tuning. As in no tuning at all. Like: "this is how the driver realy sounds, without DSP tricks."
Bytheway: did you read the manual? Is there a Vifa app maybe or info on an update/firmware download? :)
About why Vifa turned you down: maybe they don't like realy honest and critical reviews, and they only want positive 'infomercials'...
No app for the Reykjavik......even stereo pairing is done on the speaker by a link button
Wuppie62 well, it already payed off as I could make some nice fun of them hehe
very high quality---made in china :D
Maurice Frank Hey, cheap shot ... that Great Wall's still standing!
that was some years ago :D chinese industry has changed haha :D the wall isnt made out of cheap toxic plastic and so on haha
You keep saying Fifa. It's Vifa. Fifa is a totally different thing.
The vifa is unusable with the current tuning. A JBL flip 3 has more bass kick
unusable is harsh to say. the excite type of sound which is boosted by the artificial algorythms of jbl speakers have their cons as well.. the reykjavik have an untouched monitor sound in its high's and mids that compete with 500€ speakers on typical studio use. so alot what you hear as boring, mostly is the cause of a bad recording
The vifa is the most natural sounding speaker and the dali katch sounds really virtual and fake
Oh that's nice that it can sound good in some locations.
Adbahjl kkkklka
Vifa pice of trash!!👎👎
LOL
